I am the honest vocal coach! I have been teaching for 15 years and been singing since I was 16. I teach from my own studio and also teach and mentor via email, and online via Live & Skype. I specialise in teaching children, and teenagers pop and musical theatre but I am trained in all genres of music. I have studied every voice technique there is, including Speech Level Singing, Estill, Bel Canto, Robert Lunte, London College of Music, ABRSM, Ria Keen, Kim Chandler, Stevie Van Lange and many more. I have been around!
In 2008 I wrote the Vocaltutor Guide, 21 set lessons for singing teachers to get started, learning to teach, and produced 3 vocal exercise CD/Downloads.
I am now working on my first online singing programme. The Foundations of Singing that will be available on Udemy.

Kirstin changed the most. She is grown so much since the Broadway show. Mitch changed vocally too, but Kirstin's voice is just.. Amazing. Her vocal range is so amazing!

@@1thomson Lol. Of course she isn't the only one with an amazing voice BUT it's my opinion and i comment what i want. For me she has a beautiful voice and an amazing vocal range. The others have too but i commented about Kirstin.

I’m always drawn to Mitch’s voice, I love this cover it’s so fun and gets you up and dance or move around. They all look stunning and they all sound incredible together, they all worked so well together. I’m drawn to Mitch the most though, his beautiful voice and his personality and who he is as a person, sweet funny and and he’s not afraid to be himself and he’s gorgeous and beautiful and his smile is beautiful all those things makes him my favourite but they are all incredible also I agree with you Scott’s beard looks amazing on him, he is hot too.

Absolutely. Obvious wasn't it. And Kevin sets the pace for this song. And Matt's voice is so good. Look I'm white and 67 and disappointed with her. All 5 of them carries the group.

Not a single word about the guy who sang the percussion line, all by himself? Honestly I thought that Kevin had the single hardest and most complex part here and displayed the greatest level of mastery. Few songs that Pentatonix does ask this much of him or feature his parts so prominently. What they do on a regular basis already reveals him as one of the most skilled vocalists in the world, but this song in particular is an example of his best work.

Your enthusiasm is adorable.
I would enjoy hearing you comment a little more on the good techniques you see and hear and maybe say why it is good technique or why a technique works well in this particular situation. The pure reactions are fun, but these extras are something only a vocal coach might notice. It would help separate you from all of the people who stick to just reactions.

Actually the credit for the formation of PTX should be given mostly to Ben Bram. He and Scott met at USC while performing with the SoCal Vocals. He was also a coach at the SingOff and encouraged Scott to try to enter the competition. He knew they'd need a bass and beatboxer, and he knew Avi and recommended him for the bass part. Scott found Kevin online doing his cello-boxing thing and gave him a call, convincing him to join up. After their SingOff success, Ben became their arranger of course. Later, he, Avi and Rob Dietz founded the Acapella Academy. And now, he, Scott and Shams Ahmed (arranger, producer, etc for the Nor'easters and group director/coach at the Acapella Academy) brought Citizen Queen together, but Ben's fingerprints are all over CQ as well: Kaedi and Cora were at last summer's Acapella Academy, Kaylah and Nina are/were in the SoCal Vocals where Ben is still active, and Hannah has appeared on The Voice and AGT, where Ben occasionally participates as a guest coach and that's probably where he spotted her.

i was gonna be a smart ass and say that Avi's changed the most, it's like he's a whole new person...but I won't. But in reality, I think Kirstie is the one who has changed the most. Mitch has changed a lot physically, but his voice has remained consistently amazing throughout their career. Kirstie has gone from being kinda shy and timid in the beginning, picking up a few more leads here and there along the way. But since her stint on Broadway and the release of her first solo album, she has started kicking butt and taking names. She was always a little powder keg waiting for the detonator to be set, but now she has finally exploded and can finally beat Mitch and Scott at their own games!

I don't know if Avi dropping a song on the same day as them is supposed to be a good or bad thing. :/ I'm not against artists breaking off to go their own way, but trying to sabotage the band to help yourself wouldn't be cool, if that was what his team was trying to do.
Your reaction to Kirstin is that isn't she lucky to be traveling with Pentatonix. YOU DO realize that she is a part of Pentatonix's success. And to compound things you say that she has the LOOK which would sound sexist if it wasn't coming from a woman. There are more than two members.. Kevin is great at beat boxing (and he was not mentioned though this is a beat heavy performance much of the time) and is an accomplished musician outside his group function with cello, saxophone, and piano. Matt is a fine and in my opinion a better singer than Avi in his baritone range (vs. Avi's higher range) with almost a musical theater flair...though Avi is probably slightly deeper. Remember there are 5 members please.
