I can imagine if i needed to carry a lot of materials to the quarry of Smithville, the smartest thing i could do was to tip this truck in some place i know it can drop the cargo down close to the bottom and pick that with another truck later to deliver. Maybe it's good to avoid implements if you need a very huge log only loaded with a big crane but still needs another truck. The real question is if this vehicle is better to sale for extra money or keep it with so many limitations.
I'd have quit the game ages ago if not for the 6900. It's such a balanced vehicle, difficulty wise. Carelessness and complacency will be punished hard, yet her capability is enormous.
I love this thing. It will use brute force to muscle its’ way through anything. I had the privilege to actually sit in one in real life. It was owned by a company in Wyoming. It is 32 feet long and that baseball home plate looking thing in the back is actually a fifth wheel or low saddle as it’s called in the game, which can be flipped to on or off via hydraulics. As always AWESOME REVIEW!!! 🤘😬🤘
I didn't use this truck until I could unlock the AWD. Having said that, this is literally one of my favorite trucks. I always try to use it off possible.
Ya know I did the same actually, but I have seen people break records on contests with this even without AWD. With AWD it’s just such a crazy powerful vehicle.
It would be so nice if we could get a fuel and Repair addon that extends along the whole frame, that way it would be awesome as a rescue truck! What would also be cool is those same addons but only half the frame lenght, making it capable of hauling 2 slots of cargo PLUS repair points and fuel.
I can't believe I originally wrote this truck off the first time I played. It's an absolute monster and lots of fun with the highrange gearbox. Yeah it is prone to tipping, but just do some speedruns of the food delivery contest in Black River with it and that'll really help you learn how to keep it upright.
I love this truck so much I bought an extra and built them both as much as possible. I can generally move 8 pieces of cargo so much quicker using them in tandem than by dragging a big trailer with anything else. Plus they're just fun to throw into High Range and haul butt!!!
Hi Nathan! As a SnowRunner novice (but already addicted), I wanted to thank you for this review. After completing the mission to get this truck, I was unsure whether to keep it or not, as I initially found its sheer size and limited customisation a bit off-putting. But after watching this video, I've decided this 6900 is going to be a keeper. Thanks again. Cheers! //Rick
Hey Glad to see you're enjoying SR. This truck is really strong, even without AWD its still such a monster when you find it. I didnt keep it when I first started becasue I just didnt know, but I think it will serve you well
It was daunting when I first picked up the Twinsteer. But on the right roads it’s a beast (on the bigger tires). It’s great fun to drive and I love it.
Great review! I found the TwinSteer too tippy with the raised suspension and cargo. I sold it to buy the P12 on my current playthrough and kinda regretted it to be honest. I know a lot of people really enjoy it. It did feel very powerful with the AWD and V16.
Thank you!! Oh ya it is a tippy monster. It’s a great vehicle, but it’s more for situational use where you aren’t gonna go through crazy sloping and windy terrain. The P12 is still a solid truck; one of my favs!
Just did the oil quests in Zimnegorsk (Taïmyr) using the northern road, i used this truck for hauling the oversize container and a 605R + 4 slots trailer to haul the 2 small containers. 605 R made it flawlessly, TwinSteer tipped over at least 4 times 😪 Good thing i had a big crane installed on the 605R 😆
You can pull a trailer with: use your winch. Sometimes, I will pull a semi with the Twinsteer (or another semi hauling a trailer), giving me a 9-10 slot capacity.
Went to Kola Peninsula to get upgrades for the twinsteer and the GMC 9500 after Michigan gonna try to use these two trucks to do the floating drill and drilling parts. We’ll see what happens on hard mode.
Yup, i just got the thing in island lake, it is just plowing through most roads, i barely use the winch to get me out of mudpits. I cannot imagine what it will be with the upgrades. Patience is the key for that. And the small turns you gotta make with it. But it is enjoyable to use.
It was about a year before i bought the game's dlc, so installed the Dreadnought mod by mrbusses, because the fact that 8X8 was locked behind a paywall was foolish to me. I actually used to PDI these trucks at the Western Star dealer in Edmonton, for the Alberta oilfield. If you pay attention closely to the design of the truck, you'll notice a set of gin poles on each side of the deck, and a closed flip hitch at the back of the deck. A majority of the 6900TS trucks that i did an inspection on were 8X8 configuration gin pole trucks. A couple were tanker units, and one of them had a massive service body on them. They're amazing trucks IRL, and i wish Western Star succeeded this truck with the X line
I don't like using the 63 inch tires, so I go with the smaller duallies. I also use the 2nd last engine with an upgraded gearbox, It already drinks enough fuel -_- Love using this truck since I hate recovering back trailers, Though don't use it on bumpy terrain, it will roll over like an excited puppy...
Slap those 63s on to roll right over that bumpy stuff. Go big or go home baby! Haha I get you though, it's not an easy truck to handle, but with practise you can tear the game to shreds in this thing.
Watching this truck go that fast in snow is impressive. I’m struggling with Yukon map and other heavy snow maps - I don’t see any truck being able to deliver anything there. Is it possible to make a series, like top 5 trucks that you used in each map, some for delivery, others for rescue, etc.
Honestly Yukon is going to be slow, but most vehicles you have are going to get you through. If you've seen my hardcore gameplay on the yukon I was using the Cat CT681 which isnt the greatest and still having success. I'd recomend using the Russian trucks if your having a ton of trouble, but I believe you definitely can have success with the fleet you have. Because I think you can still succeeed with most trucks, I dont think making a video would necessarily help. I do recommend looking at my route runner series to see good routes to take to major hubs and such. I hope that helps. Trucks I could recommend if the NA trucks are too frustrating, then use the Vorons and the Tayga which will be pretty solid here
I've always felt the TwinSteer is crying out for a specific logging frame addon - one that has "flexible loading" like the Fliegl logging trailers in Farming Simulator. So how it works is simple. you have a single full-bed-length logging cradle that auto accepts (for example) one long logs + one short logs, or two medium logs, or four short logs, or one medium and two short logs. The mix is chosen by what you load at the cargo management screen, and so is the loading order (to allow for weight distribution management if offloading at different destinations). Of course, due to the height of log stacks, it'd need a wider wheel base, but that could be handled with a dependence on having the logging frame installed so that it couldn't be abused/used in other loadouts.
I play first time rly first time and play normal mode about 2hr and it’s boring everything too easy. I start new game with hard mode first 3 hr game play I turn my both scout to side must start again… next game by about 12hr then I spend all money for upgrade and what happens I turn my p16 on side when I try safe him I turn my fleetstar and stuck in mud my gmc another reset, now I play about 7 day I almost finish Michigan and start scouting Alaska, and THEN I see your vid and I want AWD upgrade and what happens I stuck 3 truck in ice lake ….🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 but I get it now I hope when I play more further I can find some truck to pull them out. This video abit old so for new wachers There is a two trucs that can support 4 slots of cargo femm and this truck Femm is articulated but i like femm more than this truck Plus this truc is very prone to tipping in heavy loads
Have you tried to downgrade the suspension and use OHD1s? That will help I believe. It’s tough to use, but it can be insane strong. Most speed runners use this vehicle to break records
This truck feels like a solution looking for a problem. You can pack 4 units of cargo on a regular semi and be more maneuverable, so why use this? If it could pull a trailer you'd get truly impressive cargo capacity (and insane length). As it is, this truck feels gimmicky and the novelty quickly wears off when you get stuck in tight bends or end up high centered - a thing this vehicle can do exceptionally well. The rigid frame makes it prone to tipping on uneven terrain. The addition of AWD was very nice, making the Twin Steer usable at least.
All good points! It's very dependent on the drivers comfort level and good planning. As you said it can get into alot of situations that cause issues which is why I only use it for certain situations.
Unusable without AWD? That's hilarious to me, cos I must have done about 50% of the entire game with it on my first playthrough, and hundreds of missions in Co-op, pre-AWD.
Oh bro; I’ve seen what you can do in this thing. I haven’t seen amazing driving like that ever. I believe you 10000% and agree with you as well. That’s why the title is what it is. In the right hands; it’s unstoppable

There is a two trucs that can support 4 slots of cargo femm and this truck
Femm is articulated but i like femm more than this truck
Plus this truc is very prone to tipping in heavy loads
Yes, there is the Femm now that it’s 2024 :)
Western Pimpsteer.
I almost completely refuse to use this truck because it has to much body roll even without cargo it's easy to roll over the vehicle
Have you tried to downgrade the suspension and use OHD1s? That will help I believe. It’s tough to use, but it can be insane strong. Most speed runners use this vehicle to break records
@@NProvince this was before I used the raised suspension
All wheel drive uhh
Yes I had all wheel drive :)
@@NProvince Yeah cheers for that mate. Anyway I was just replying to @karabenomar . People are always trying to trash the 6900 and I like to offer some justice :)
Its useless, at least it should have some mount, at least crane. come on..
lmfao, this thing is like 30ft too long compared to the real thing, embarrassing
That I didn’t know that the scale was off. Thank you for bringing that up
