The air i can somewhat give a pass, but the fact that the pro models also come 8gb standard is pretty insane. I used an 8gb air (work issued), and i'm always having to do ram management with apps/browser tabs. Can get up to like 10gb of swap being used if i dont manage it.

as someone that owns the M2 Macbook air 15, DONT BUY THIS JUNK. Its so slow for the price compared to an M1 Macbook air. I litrally wanna throw this laptop into a wall.

And when it comes to buying a new Macbook Air in 7 years time there is a small chance that the base model will then be 16GB Ram and 512GB SSD. Or maybe not!

      haha, even that is unlikely

Quite possible tbf. Apps are getting bulkier and now with the addition of Apple Intelligence and whatnot I'm pretty sure that's gonna be the bare minimum in atleast 2 years from now.

I personally believe the larger screen is worth the price. But I mentioned that at the end of the video 😊

I have an M2 with 8GB RAM. I use it for a lot of the same things as my gaming PC with 16GB, and I honestly never notice a difference! In fact, sometimes the M2 feels faster. 8GB may not be much but it is utilized very well.
This of course doesn’t negate apple’s RAM scam, but as you’ve stated, damn do they know what they’re doing… they’ve engineered their cheap decisions to be as unnoticeable as possible.

I would never buy a brand new M powered Apple computer. They are just overpriced pieces of junk with tons of failure points and impossible to upgrade or service. I love my Intel Macs so much. I personally don't give a rat's ass if they are a few seconds slower on boot, or a bit slower for something else. The price gap is just not justified IMHO. I'm not in such a hurry that 2 more seconds to load a web page makes any difference.

You’d be shocked at the overall improvements and quality of life in even an M1, which you can buy very cheap now… The battery life, the way it never gets too hot, it’s another world from the intel macs.

@@asinglefrenchfry I personally do not care for laptops in general. So these are non-issues for me. I use my 2015 15" 2.8Ghz Macbook Pro only when I travel, which is not very often. For the real heavy duty work that I do, nothing comes close to a 32-Core, beefed-up desktop computer with 128Go of RAM. I've been an exclusive Apple user since 1984. Unfortunately I will never ever buy or support a company that treats it's customers the way they do, and a company that deliberately manufactures products so that you cannot repair them, or configure them the way you want at a normal price after you buy them. And a company that deliberately renders your computer obsolete for absolutely no reason besides cheer greed. This to me i s far more important than a few degrees more on my lap, or any of that nonsense. Seriously, who cares??

Def on board with you on the repair/upgradability aspect of the M-series stuff, still keeping all my intel stuff till it dies. But you can get M1 stuff for like ~$600 (~$400 for a macmini) now and they still will outperform the intels in just about every aspect, not just raw speed/load times.

@@MXCN_El1011 I can, but why would I? They're a scam anyways. As much as I dislike the idea, I will switch entirely to another OS just to keep MY LIBERTY.
Also, I am unsubscribing from this channel since it removes my comments because they go against his agenda and ideology.

Please help me i am confused. Should I go for the MacBook Air M2 top-end model (16GB/512GB) or the M3 base model with an upgraded SSD to 512GB? I have a 1TB Samsung T9 SSD. I'm worried about running out of storage as I install apps. This happened to me before with my base iPhone 6s (32GB), where I could either keep apps or some images and videos, but not both. I am a software developer by profession, but I'm buying this for personal use and some development learning.
Below are the prices for the 13" MacBook Air M2 in India:

Below are the prices for the 13" MacBook Air M3 in India:

    8GB RAM, 512GB SSD - ₹1,30,000

    16GB RAM, 512GB SSD - ₹1,50,000
