I love everything about out this sub except the surround. I have never really liked that ribbed style. Everything else is on point…. Damn and I’m actually looking for new 8’s to mess around with aperiodic enclosures. Great vid! Keep up the good work my dood! Cheers.

Yes, X Mech is more than Total X Max, not to mention, and im sure you already know this as well, the Legit rated 1 way X Max, is usually @70% BL= Linear X Max rating. So this woofers 100% 2 way X Max, would be approx. 34 or 35mm, and X Mech would be more than this. How much more( again im sure you know this), is different for each size, model, and company. As you already may know, Klippel is the standard for verified X Max, and X Mech, but do you know if there is a cheaper device now, like a Lazer, that diy'ers can purchase, for test results? Great video, and production.
@@evilinside5984 Dayton audio actually makes a tool that gives the TS parameters of speakers. I'm not sure the price of it the Dayton audio is usually budget-friendly. You can check them out at Parts Express

Aperiodic is something I've never done before. Please share a vid if you build one.
That surround is not cosmetic. Designed to prevent dimpling during high excursion.
@BudgetBasshead- The 2 way X Max you stated as 24mm, or 12mm each way= just under 1 inch TOTAL X Max, not 2 1/2 to 3 inches.
X-max is not a measurement of total mechanical travel. X-mech. Xmax measures the voice call travel in relation to the magnet and voice coil Gap.
