If I’m forced to go turbo 4 cylinder, zr2 is the one I’d get. Until then, my 23 Tacoma off road 4x4 is what I’m using
Are you nuts. The Toyota doesn't get carbon deposits!!!
At 80k miles I'm waiting for the Chevy to break.. That's the $ difference here.. Features on the Chevy offset the (perceived) reliability of the Toyota. See tfl yt for when their "blueberry" taco broke an axel. It was far from abuse when it broke..
Definitely the ZR2. It's a better-looking truck, more ground clearance, and has more off-road capability. And let's not forget the price, in terms of what you get.
It appears Toyota has forgot what got them to “The Show”: Reasonable pricing and exceptional reliability and simple engineering. The current Gen Tundra has shown to be super expensive and with a serious flaw in reliability. Nothing worse than choosing an off-roader that you can’t trust. That’s why I’m sticking with my 2.5 gen Tundra and 200 series Land Cruiser. I could be proven wrong over time, I’ll be on the sidelines until it decided one way or another.
Same price ? Where toy is atomic 9 to 10,000 more even tho the chevy ZR2 is better locking from and rear. And steering not as heavy.and looks better my opinion as well
After owning both the Toyota 3rd Gen Tacoma and a Colorado 18,20 & 22 Bison when I was in the market for a personal midsize truck I went with the Toyota. (They cost the same but just personal preference) both are great trucks but I just could not take a chance on GM at this point. I had SO many issues with my Colorado’s it was unreal.
Great vid. I like the tough looks of the Colorado ZR2 though.
My Colorado is no where near the truck my Taco was. Lots of typical GM problems
I had a 2002 Tacoma and loved it. Had very little if any problems with it. I bought a 2015 Chevy Colorado and could not count how many problems I had. It was back in the shop every week with something new. I traded it in for a 2021 Tacoma and had zero problems with it until unfortunately my son totaled it after hydroplaning into a center divide. So now my dilemma is to buy the 4th gen Taco or go back to Chevy? 😓
@@WestCostie I’d shy away from the Bowtie
ZR2 for torque and horsepower. But price is out of my range so just a dream for me, can’t afford today’s new trucks.
The only compairable tacoma is the trailhunter and thats already almost $30,000 more than the ZR2
I don’t mind paying more for something that is more dependable and higher resale value so Toyota all the way
I'll take the one on the trailer at 8:28
👑 TOYOTA 👑
Same amount of money? OMG that statement cracked me up, you should create a channel for comedy. Dude you are funny. BTW apples to apples would be ZR2 vs TRD Pro. Chevy wins hands down, no competition unless you like to give the toyota CEO massive amount of profits for his yacht.
Value isn't measured at MSRP. Value is measured a decade from now!! Expect Tacoma to be way ahead of the GM product.
I have a 24 ZR2 and not happy whatsoever with the build quality of the interior. Plastic rattling everywhere
That's odd....my '23 ZR2 is solid as a rock.
I think I just have a shit unit. Been to the dealer 5 times already
@bigd2256 Been to the dealer once...to pick up my license plate.
@@MrHand-ih4sz good for you guy
My ZR2 broke after 4 days, been at the dealer for over a week now
5/26/24 - Good comparison
Both prices are ridicules high
Ok, so it's the future
2024 Tacoma has gone woke
- Cost high
- Dislike turbo
- Dislike auto tailgate
- Dislike multi link suspension
- Prefer analog
- Like the big dashboard controls
*just more new things to breakdown
2024 Colorado Z2
- Cost high
- Like 4cylinder
- Like manual tailgate
- Like leaf suspension
- Prefer analog
- Dislike small dashboard controls
The Colorado Z2 looks I like more than the Tacoma
It is tempting to jump ship for Colorado
But I'll wait 2030 - 2040 see
What else new reliability
Is produce from the 2022 - 2028 vehicles and vehicles to be
Thank you for these comparisons
Chevy deals tho! You'll be able to get one for $45k or less in the fall.
Is there anything that you do like?
@@DefinitelyNotYouThankGod naturally aspirated 4 6 8, don't need auto lift gate or tail, dont need auto 2nd or 3rd recline
I was a HUGE fan of the Tacoma 3rd gen but ZR2 beats this generation Tacoma in every aspect
Zr2 gets you so much for the money
They aren't the same price in Canada unfortunately
These trucks are almost getting to where you need a step stool or ladder to work under the hood.
Comes back the next let's see
if you are comparing prices its apples to apples but if you are comparing features you would need to compare the ZR2 to the Pro
That is what the ZR2 Bison will take on. The Bison is a tank.
It's 2024 and CHEVY still rocking leaf springs is wild.
Leaf springs are a proven suspension design that Toyota used right up until 2024. Nothing wild about leaf springs. What is wild is that the Tacoma used drum brakes up until now. 19th century brake tech.
That multi-link is cool until the bushings start squeaking and wear out, and links corrode and break, and then handling gets sloppy.
You were to kind with the seat spacing in the Tacoma, my God a bunch of gnomes couldn’t find leg room in there!
I’m a big Tacoma fan but that ZR2 is the way to go. Sorry Toyota, I love your Tacos but I still need to feed my family and afford a roof over our head.
BEN HARDY !!!!!!!
Colorado is such a better truck but yet the Tacoma will still have better resale for some reason
Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road i-FORCE MAX $49k
Chevy Colorado ZR2 $49k
Market on the zr2 will plummet, since they change something every 2-3 years on their trims.
Toyota will always hold its value.
