  • I recently picked up a set of Eastwood detachable ramps for the Taco Potato Mustang garage and this week, we’re seeing how they stack up against the ubiquitous Rhino Ramps. I tried out the new ramps with both my 2014 Mustang GT and my Fox Mustang project car. Thanks for watching!

    I had issue with the Rhino scrapping the front lip as well. It was just a hair too tall.

    Hey bud, after living with them for a while are they high enough for oil changes? Got a 2022 GT!

      I think they work well enough for oil changes, assuming your 2022 is not significantly lower than my 2014. Getting to things a little further back from the engine bay - I think you would need to use a jack/jack stands in addition to the ramps, if that makes sense.

      @@TacoPotatoMustangwhat about fixing a drive shaft on a 2018 ss Camaro

      @@EmreyDavis I’ve never done a drive shaft myself…but I think this might works for the front wheels, and then you’d probably need some pretty high jack stands for the rear of the car.

    how much height do you get with these ramps? I was thinking about getting something like this so I can put on a front splitter on my car.

    • @TacoPotatoMustang
      @TacoPotatoMustang  4 месяца назад

      Do you have to drop any part of the bumper or anything crazy like that? I think it would be sufficient for putting a splitter on a Mustang but I don’t know the height off the top of my head. Could try to measure when get some garage time soon.

      @@TacoPotatoMustangyeah it is just unscrewing 10 10mm bolts from underneath the car, placing the splitter in, screwing the 10 10mm bolts back in, and then for added security, a total of 8 self tapping screws in.

    2x4 wheel cradles. Make them as high as a good jack can go. All four wheels. Have enough room to pull a tranny out.

      Thanks for the suggestion, Funky. I’ve thought about trying something like this eventually. How does it work as far as getting the car onto multiple cradles? Seems like it would be unstable when you have one cradle in place and are trying to get another side/wheel up. 🤔

    Just don't forget to reattach the other half before backing off. That could ruin your weekend.

      Thanks David! I’m not sure on the clearance needed for removing a Camaro alternator but I would also be looking for alternatives to paying $1200. Now I’m craving some Burger King, lol.

    It’s gross watching someone eat on camera especially when they weren’t taught manners bro. Keep that to yourself bro. Just trying to help ya man. So I’m on the hunt for long ramps that are wide for oil changes and of everything I’m seeing this looks like the best. Just so ppl know ramps are 90% oil changes so don’t expect much but you could mount 2x12s to the bottom and each one is 1.5 inches tall so mount at least 2 to the bottom and use L brackets to connect to ramp. You could just cut them to be on high end not low end and they are wider than these ramps so it will stabilize it more. So should i get these buddy? I have the portable lifts(forgot the name) that use roll out and but under each side and they’re hydraulic but are over kill for oil changes. I have a charger hellcat ,Durango hellcat and a TRX hellcat with very wide tires on all of them but this looks pretty good and would fit under. My charger is a tick lower in front then your mustang but i think these will work. Do you still think these are the best choice ? Or would you pick something else?

      you’re really gonna call me gross and lecture me about eating on MY RUclips channel that’s about cars and FOOD, and then ask me for my input on whether these ramps will work for your cars? Lmaooo 🤣
      If you can’t handle watching someone eat a few French fries, that’s not my problem, sir. 😐
      Anyways, you can measure the approach angle of your car to determine whether these ramps will work with yours.
