Yeah a year after the album dropped my grandpa who had leukemia for around 13-14 years he got sick out of no where and found out he had lung cancer and potentially liver cancer as well. I have such a hard time listening to it myself. I live with my grandparents so I watched him go. I still have nightmares. It’s been almost 3 years exactly.

As someone who almost lost their own parent to cancer, I can’t listen to the full song without breaking down. I know songs are meant to be interpreted in your own way, but the song makes it very clear what it’s about and to see people using it for a breakup when it’s about something so much more serious really saddens me.

Lover came out, and a week later my dog had a stroke and we discovered that he had a golf sized tumor in his brain, when I heard "Soon you get better" again he still was in the hospital and that song broke me because of the situation we were at the moment, my dog was like my son, my best friend and put him to sleep was one of the most heartbreaking thing that had happened to me.
