There was a time taylor said she might never perform this song live. I can't imagine the courage it took to sing this to uplift others. There's something special about musicians like her.
Bhawna03 nobody saw the pandemic coming, and it's so beautiful and graceful of her family to decide that this personal part of their lives should be shared in her material. She wrote this about her mom's battle with cancer, and now we feel the same fear and grief of an ordeal of a similar kind.
Technically she still hasn't. This was in a room by herself with just a piano and a camera. Probably exactly where she wrote it. I don't think she will ever actually sing this in a concert with screaming fans. That would not work.
Taylor actually had to record and sing this twice. Throughout the video, you can see how hard she's trying not to break down. It's so raw and emotional. Such an incredibly written song.
Taylor Swift is one of the best songwriters right now in the industry. I'm so in awe of her talent. She said she'd never perform this, it was too emotional that even at her secret sessions, she left the room. Given her mom is fighting cancer, it's amazing that in light of this situation, she decided to sing this. It was such a vulnerable position to be in and it was beautiful to watch. People say she's not a strong vocalist, but I love the tone of her voice, and her songwriting is next level.
To the people who say Taylor Swifts vocals aren’t strong I’d like to hear their so incredibly strong vocals and also her voice is SO strong in Cornelia Street live from Paris
Not totally sure if you know this; if you do I’m sorry for saying something you know. Her mom was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. This song is about her moms battle with that, but it definitely goes along with what’s going on in the world! You are so inspiring, I love music and singing and I only wish I lived where you lived to have the voice lessons one on one.
Romina Moheno o my gosh I literally sob every time I listen to that. Especially when it says “and what if I’m standing in your closet trying to talk to you”. That hits hard.
Taylor said before her album 'Lover' came out that she'd never perform this song because every time she hears it, she can't be in the room because it makes her fill-up with tears because of it being about her mum getting cancer again a few years ago. Fans were at a pre-launch listening session and Taylor had to walk out of the room. So for her to perform this, you can see the sorrow in her eyes.It must've taken a lot of courage for her.
I feel like if ANYONE decided to read a few of Taylor's lyrics, they would have to admit that she is a wonderful songwriter, regardless if they're a swiftie or not
My little sisters best friend who was 9 passed from a seizure on the 4th this month and me and my family are close to the family and that was their only kid. I baby sat him and was going to babysit him in the summer holidays but he's gone and it's so hard. He was such a happy and loving kid I miss him. I'm struggling with everything that has gone on. Thank you for what you do Tara. You spread joy and positivity. Love you. Hope your well and staying safe. Thanks for always being there. Xx 💖
This song breaks me every time, the bridge in particular. My grandad died the week before lover came out, and all I can think about listening to the song is how terrified my nana must have been, because he didn’t get better.
The first time I heard this song was last year when my dad was battling cancer. I can't listen to it without crying, because it really did put into words what I was feeling.
I’ve never liked Taylor as a singer. Always just thought she was just mediocre. But I have ALWAYS thought she was an extraordinary songwriter. My daughters love this song. I almost died from the flu. 33 yrs old perfectly healthy. Spent two weeks on a vent in a coma and then another month and a half in neurotrauma ICU trying to learn to eat, walk, etc. They say this reminds them of those very long 2 months. But God gives us beauty for ashes. And they found their faith during that time. I’ve been a professional singer and musician all my life and was told I’d never sing again. The ventilation tubes and feeding tube damaged my throat and the nerves in my neck. I also had brain damage from the lack of oxygen. But somehow I’m still able. And I’m a Worship Pastor to this day. Im not trying to proselytize, but God still does miraculous things. And I’m praying for anyone who needs a miracle ♥️
Having lost my mother to cancer this song really hits home...hard. This raw, stripped down version of this song is impossible for me to get through without tears free flowing. And yet I can't deny the beauty and simplicity of it. Great song, great reaction.
I'm really sorry for your lost, April. Your comment just simply made me cry. Losing a mother is really really hard for a person and I'm lucky I still have my mom. I'm sure your mom's happy now and she will never leave you forever.
Beautiful words Tara, truly beautiful. You are a light in this dark time. I love and respect you for that. Keep your amazing voice being heard to help us who watch you. Much love to your family, friends and those you care for x
Please react to more live performances of Taylor Swift. Here are a few I'd recommend: Out of the Woods acoustic at the Grammy Museum Riptide Cover in the Live Lounge King of My Heart Acoustic New Year's Day on Jimmy Fallon All Too Well at the Grammy Awards Back to December/Apologize/You're Not Sorry at the Speak Now World Tour Holy Ground Acoustic at the BBC (major swiftie alert, sorry lol)
I was watching live when this song aired, not knowing anything about it. My first thought was, "Wow, what beautiful wallpaper!" But within a few minutes, the song hit me, hard. I was sobbing, without really understanding the exact meaning, but the song and Taylor's struggling expression told me everything. A real true honest moment.
Taylor swift is special ... she's a songwriter first and she writes some amazing songs her voice is just the messenger for those lyrics. She's an artist.
Thank you for the video miss tara! I’ve been waiting for a reaction to Taylor swift! I wish that you commented more on her vocal technique, although I understand the intent of this performance was so much more than technical signing. May you please consider reacting to a different live performance to comment on her singing? Thanks 💖
I’ve heard this song 1,000 times but something about it this morning and in this video broke me. I’m so grateful to Taylor and you for bringing this to us.
Love this so much! This is how powerful music can be, when you put great music and great lyrics together it becomes truly powerful. You can put all technique aside and put your emotions into the song, and that’s what is important . Thank you for reacting to this video... blessing 🙏🏻
You are so right tara we need eachother more than ever and music is exactly what can do this job fos us cause everyone in the world can speak this amazing and powerful language. By the way I really recommend you to watch "sick" form Charlie puth which is a wonderful song he wrote recently. Maybe it s just me cause I love him as singer but that song really hit right into my heart (maybe exagerating) and i think it s worth watching, if you want and have time of course. Said this I really hope what i wrote to be in the best english I can cause you know it s not my primary language, and please keep going like this, making this beatiful and often deep (in a good way of course) videos. LOVE YOU
Yayy! Taylor ma gurl. Oh Tara, Tara, Ms. Tara, been binge watching your reactions and other videos since yesterday and my oh my, what a precious finding. Seriously, the reactions of other "Vocal coach" wanna be's were nothing compares to yours. A total legit critiques that helps your viewer to understand more of what's really going on. Those little things that you still noticed opened my eyes, ears and mind. Like woahh, super mind blown (fan girling). Loving your videos, your reactions and everything. Hoping that you'll continue what you're doing whole heartedly. Love ya gurllll😍😘
I'm sure by now you know this but she actually wrote this for her mom who had (still has?) cancer and a brain tumor. She said she didn't ever think she could sing this live. A lot of other commenters pointed that out. She is so strong and I start bawling every time I hear this song. It his so close to home.
This hits home for me because I’m the sick one. I have lupus. Watching my parents go through it all with me from the point I was about 12 on, and not having a diagnosis until I was 20, and then to have their daughter go into kidney and heart failure and need open heart surgery at 25...and having to sign the papers for a medical power of attorney and such, it was harder than the actual surgery. I was told over and over how “strong” I was. My response remains, “If you want to see strength, go talk to my mom, and my dad. And my younger brother who easily could have been bitter because I got attention being the “sick one.” To their credit, my parents never neglected my brother for my needs. But it’s the opposite for me and Taylor, my mom is healthy and I’m sick. But the insight into the feelings from the other side, that always gets me. I love this reaction video. 💜
This song does really hit home for me. My grandmother died on Tuesday 08/23/22. 7 years to the day after my father in law died. My father in law was sick for 2 years but my grandma was supposed to be fine. The doctors were sure they were going to find the issue and fix it but then when they put the central line in during pre operation but she had a heart attack and she is gone. It hasn't been a week now. I found this the day after she died and I have been listening to this song so much since she died to get me through this. She was supposed to be fine but she is gone. I broke down at work when I was on the phone with my mom. I work from so I let my management team know but it hurts to know that she is gone. I was going to see her Friday 08/26 to show her my keys to the house that I just bought the house but I couldn't because she was gone. I just know she is with us but I can't celebrate with her like I planned. She knew I was close when she died but she was supposed to be fine. That's what hurt the most. The fact that she was supposed to be ok but then she wasn't.
This is so needed at this time. I love Taylor Swift and your reactions so I am still trying to get you to react to Angelina Jordan I know many people in her fan club have requested her from you for a long time now. I wish you would let me know if there is a reason that you are not reacting to her, then I would not keep bugging you about it.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you for reacting to Taylor and this performance. I've been waiting for you to react to her for so long. This song....her album lover came out on august 23rd and since then I've heard this song a million times and i cry every single time. I can't really say why, because some things have to be kept private but my mum was really ill a few years ago and everytime i hear this songs, it gives me flashbacks from me crying about my mum and screaming. It was a really really hard period, that my family and i had unfortunately had to get through but my mum fought it. She's completely healthy now, but this song.... This song is soo painful. Not only when i remember my mum but also when i think of Taylor's mum, cause she has cancer. Thank you for reacting to this beautiful song. There are lots of artists out there and taylor is from the only ones who can write songs with meaning, deep lyrics, and songs that can actually get given to the world so the world can hear them and make them they're own, with they're own experiences and memories. Taylor might not have ariana grande's powerful vocals, or camila cabello's or any other artists but she has her iwn beautiful voice with her beautiful songs. I love her, i love her more than anything in the world. Thank you sooo mich for reacting to this. I love you and your channel. I hope you get to react to her more, it's worth it❤️
Hey Tara, loving your video as always! I'm gonna try again: Acapop! Kids live on the Kelly Clarkson Show!! Also, Home Free with Auld Lang Syne and the x factor uk audition of 4th power! Sending you lots of love from Germany and stay safe!
"I'm grateful for music" I always have that thought, especially when listening to singers who write their own songs and sing it with just a guitar or a piano.
You need to react to Durand Benarr singing crazy feelings because that man can SANG😂 it’s so amazing and raw and on top of that he’s sick while singing. You really should see it and I think you would enjoy it!
My mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness not very long ago. She has "weeks" to live. I can't listen to this song in its fullest. Especially in the bridge. She has an amazing voice though. Hope everyone's families are doing okay. ❤️
i know this was written about her mom but it makes me think of my 19 y/o cat who I have known my whole life. he has always been my best friend through everything and has always been there for me. i love him so, so, so much. he is now severely underweight and weak and his digestive system is failing. i can't lose him, he's my best friend, my brother, my emotional support. he is happy, and I know death is inevitable, but I can't go on knowing I can't do anything to keep him here. maybe I'll see him someday in heaven after we've both passed.
Often I learn of new/different songs from watching these reaction videos. Always love to hear your perspective, but also it's nice to expand my musical arena.
I've worked FEMA for 27 years and I have met thousands of people who were devastated one thing is that people are loving feeling creatures music always bind our souls so sing to the top of your lungs reach those who are scared or in need
I'm an essential worker here in NYC and I've lost two friends and a lot of my co workers have lost people they're close too as well. This song really had me just singing and processing everything that's been happening that I haven't allowed myself to feel. So thank you Taylor for your words and the song.
Can you react to one of her live performances where she's dancing and moving? When she hits high notes, she does this signature stance and kinda arches her back. Is it posture and form??
I m new to your channel! I’d love to see you do some Long Pond Studio sessions tracks with Taylor singing. You don’t have to have the biggest strongest voice to be a good singer. I love the tone of her voice. And one thing I never knew is she has a gorgeous lower register which is highlighted more on folklore and evermore than ever before. I think her lower register is gorgeous. If you haven’t already listened to Can you react to Tolerate it,evermore, Champagne problems, Ivy, and Marjorie (lyric videos especially for Marjorie). And from folklore my tears ricochet, mad woman, exile, cardigan, and peace. I chose these specifically not because where they rank on my favorites list, but I think they highlight her softer vocals and lower register I didn’t know she had, as well as her songwriting genius.
Thank you for reacting to this song. I hadn’t heard this til now. My mama is having surgery tomorrow to take cancer out of her lung. Soon she’ll get better! ( as I type this through tears)
pratically there were only 2 female songwriters that their songs really can make me in tears one is mariah carey, the other one is taylor swift. i really notice it, taylor perhaps doesnt have big power nor range in her voice but her lyrics??? outstanding. she's artist of decade for a reason..
can you please react to Idina Menzel singing “Always Starting Over” at the 2014 tonys. it is a song from a musical she did in 2014 called IF/THEN. the song is very powerful and her voice is AMAZING in this performance. she holds the last note for close to 15 sec. if you could react to this it would be amazing. thank you
Ur reaction was the same as my reaction when I first saw this performance. My mother means allot to me more than anything in dis world, and this song relates to it.
Hey Tara, this was obviously such an emotional song and I'm amazed that Taylor got through it, much less that she sang it beautifully. I wonder if you could talk a little about how to keep singing and keep hitting your notes when you're fighting back tears? I have seen many people do this...but I just can't seem to do it! Whenever my church choir sings a requiem, it seems like there is always a point where I just have to mouth the words because I am about to cry and can't control my voice. That works just fine in a choir, fortunately.
I love Taylor and this song is amazing !! Great lyrics ! I have a suggestion, could you please react to Loic Nottet's new song Mr/Mme. The song is truly great and powerful and very personal. His voice and the lyrics (which he wrote) are amazing ! It's his first song in french (which is a big deal for him)(and there are english subtitles available) I love you're videos !!
At the end of 2018, my mother passed away after suffering from a series of strokes. The first time I heard this song, it was painful. In fact, this song is still painful to hear. But it might be my favorite Taylor song, even if I can't hear it without crying, because I felt it for so long.
can u react to more one world together at home performances ... especially little mix touch they managed to harmonize even being miles away from eachother and recorded their parts separately
I lost my father from an undifient illness snd and i have an uncle who has diabetes and isnt taking care of himself I'm so afraid of losing him my heart breaks knowing that he might die my heart is shattered p
Taylor is really genius songwriter and great singer!! Btw would u react to little mix touch - together at home ? That is really great and they can harmonize well while on distance
You should react to Melim! They re a Brazilian group, actually, really famous in Brazil. Dois corações, ouvi dizer, meu abrigo and Um mundo ideal ( Portuguese version of A whole new world - Zayn Malik and zhavia) are some songs of them! Hope you like it!!

@DAVID YOHO Exactly songs like that can relate to anyone at any time, especially during difficult times like this
You would love Taylor's song "Ronan", a deep and emotional song that was never released on an album but it is worth a listen.
I LOVE that song!

"I'm grateful for music"
I always have that thought, especially when listening to singers who write their own songs and sing it with just a guitar or a piano.
You need to react to Durand Benarr singing crazy feelings because that man can SANG😂 it’s so amazing and raw and on top of that he’s sick while singing. You really should see it and I think you would enjoy it!
Love your reaction to this powerful performance; thank you 🙏
My mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness not very long ago. She has "weeks" to live. I can't listen to this song in its fullest. Especially in the bridge. She has an amazing voice though. Hope everyone's families are doing okay. ❤️
i’m so sorry. sending you so much love.

i know this was written about her mom but it makes me think of my 19 y/o cat who I have known my whole life. he has always been my best friend through everything and has always been there for me. i love him so, so, so much. he is now severely underweight and weak and his digestive system is failing. i can't lose him, he's my best friend, my brother, my emotional support. he is happy, and I know death is inevitable, but I can't go on knowing I can't do anything to keep him here. maybe I'll see him someday in heaven after we've both passed.
He'll get better soon 🙏
Often I learn of new/different songs from watching these reaction videos. Always love to hear your perspective, but also it's nice to expand my musical arena.
I've worked FEMA for 27 years and I have met thousands of people who were devastated one thing is that people are loving feeling creatures music always bind our souls so sing to the top of your lungs reach those who are scared or in need
One of the greatest singer songwriter of our time and that's Taylor swift!!!!love her much!tnx for your honest reaction!
I'm an essential worker here in NYC and I've lost two friends and a lot of my co workers have lost people they're close too as well. This song really had me just singing and processing everything that's been happening that I haven't allowed myself to feel. So thank you Taylor for your words and the song.
I am grateful for you Tara.
Can you react to one of her live performances where she's dancing and moving? When she hits high notes, she does this signature stance and kinda arches her back. Is it posture and form??
The song is so beatiful.
I can't listen to this song without crying the person I was dedicating this song for is no longer here..
This song is just incredible. It makes me cry everytime.
Thank you Tara! You are wonderful person!
I AM JUST SO HAPPY THAT YOU FINALLY REACTED TO TAYLOR SWIFT!
ACAPOP KIDS on Kelly Clarkson Show FULL PERFORMANCE, since you requested live footage.
Like your reaction!!!and love Taylor for her music!!
This is power of her music. Thanks for this
Does anyone have any prayer request??😊💕🙏
Jolie Victoria I hope you stay safe and happy 😊
Thanks love! Just added to my list!
she may not be the greatest singers out there, but her songs really capture the heart of everybody of her songwriting.
Thank you for reacting to this song. I hadn’t heard this til now. My mama is having surgery tomorrow to take cancer out of her lung. Soon she’ll get better! ( as I type this through tears)
This song really hit me hard! she has such a beautiful voice!
Feels like you're going through something Tara, thinking of you 💜💜💜hugs
So sad I wish I could just hug Taylor
love her song!!! love your reactions and love you!!!
This song has been on my mind, soon you'll get better mom.
pratically there were only 2 female songwriters that their songs really can make me in tears one is mariah carey, the other one is taylor swift. i really notice it, taylor perhaps doesnt have big power nor range in her voice but her lyrics??? outstanding. she's artist of decade for a reason..
Tara....I just watched a performance I thought you may like. It is fire, IMHO. Jewel "Who's going to save your soul" Woodstock '99.
can you please react to Idina Menzel singing “Always Starting Over” at the 2014 tonys. it is a song from a musical she did in 2014 called IF/THEN. the song is very powerful and her voice is AMAZING in this performance. she holds the last note for close to 15 sec. if you could react to this it would be amazing. thank you
Yes!
Wow..thank you for reacting to that performance. That is really such an amazing song. I hope you react more on Taylor Swift performances. 😊💯🙏💗❣️
we are all get better.. soon!! AMEN😇❤❤
I listened to this over and over again and i always cried for soem reason
I love you Taylor and Tara!!!!! ♥️♥️♥️
1st time watching that performance. Really felt a connection to it. ❤
No belting out needed, just felt that song right through my very heart. Thanks for reacting to her song.
This song reminds me of some pop 90's pop song in the vocal melody arrangement.
Donna Lewis, that's the artist, I figured it out moments after posting.
This is the most emotional song of taylor swift 😢😢😢 it makes me cry....
Ur reaction was the same as my reaction when I first saw this performance. My mother means allot to me more than anything in dis world, and this song relates to it.
I literally cried during this performance
love Taylor
We need more taylor reactions !
Beautiful GOD bless ❤❤😇🙏
Hey Tara, this was obviously such an emotional song and I'm amazed that Taylor got through it, much less that she sang it beautifully. I wonder if you could talk a little about how to keep singing and keep hitting your notes when you're fighting back tears? I have seen many people do this...but I just can't seem to do it! Whenever my church choir sings a requiem, it seems like there is always a point where I just have to mouth the words because I am about to cry and can't control my voice. That works just fine in a choir, fortunately.
We need more Taylor Swift reaction. 😁
Tara, you look astonishing beautifully.
I wish I could Express myself like this
I love Taylor and this song is amazing !! Great lyrics !
I have a suggestion, could you please react to Loic Nottet's new song Mr/Mme. The song is truly great and powerful and very personal. His voice and the lyrics (which he wrote) are amazing ! It's his first song in french (which is a big deal for him)(and there are english subtitles available)
I love you're videos !!
You should try to react to Taylor's Out of the woods performance at the Grammy Museum.
I lost my father from an undifient illness snd and i have an uncle who has diabetes and isnt taking care of himself I'm so afraid of losing him my heart breaks knowing that he might die my heart is shattered p
i had tears in my eyes just listening to this song but all of you are not alone
You should definitely check out - Korn & Amy Lee - Freak On A Leash. It's a live duet and very dynamic.
I love I love your runs in the beginning. They are also cute.
