Yeah. I’m not sure he’s been looking at the prices of tickets recently. Category A games run upwards of 300 quid for some of the big teams.
can't believe as a club gets bigger and gets better that they increase the prices of their tickets, especially when they're now playing massive european clubs

@@JeyanthiNatesan yep. Renewed my season ticket for the 4th season in a row and got a slight discount for renewing
That may increase if you survive this season.
“They’re going to sell out” simple supply and demand. Fans willing to pay so they feel the price must be worth paying. Same as shirts, fans will pay £125, so sellers will charge it. It’s a luxury item/hobby, not essential for living.
Completly agree. People paying these prices are only encouraging the club's. Leave the stadium empty no matter how hard it is and things will have to change. I get annoyed everyone moaning about beer prices. Don't buy one! Drink before, drink after. If u can't not have a drink for 2hrs u got a problem.
Just because it isn't keeping you alive like food, water and heating it doesn't mean that people who love their club can't voice their opinion over being nickle and dimed by greedy ownership. The same goes for any other hobby. I'm sick of seeing this argument to defend pure avarice.
@@simongumn3154well yeah things would change they’ll reduce the prices and sell off your best players like Watkins, Bailey etc and then you can go back to finishing 10th. I’m sure your fans would prefer that….you’re clearly not seeing the bigger picture here. It’s the PSR rules!!!!

Jim Ratcliffe is trying to build a new stadium to do exactly the same thing
Reminds me of hockey in Canada. 300-400 dollars minimum for a regular season game in Toronto. Capitalizing off of the demand making it almost impossible for the average person to afford any ticket…
This why atmospheres are dead in the EPL now. Especially among the bigger clubs, atmospheres have been getting noticeably worse every year for like a decade now
Could also be a case of "we got 26.000 people on the waiting list for a season ticket that might be willing to pay this for a UCL" or "we are trying to build a global brand at Villa so maybe we should try and get some GLOBAL fans to the stadium and they will be willing to pay this."
Of course, neither of these things will happen because the people who are complaining about this the loudest will pay for those tickets.
And I agree, these prices are really high but there is always the option of maybe not going to every single game.

This is Great Britain not America thank goodness I mean you might shortly have a convicted criminal as your President then watch the prices of everything Sky rocket he's got to make sure his rich mates get plenty of Tax breaks on the back of the working class Americans
Am curious a see alot of Americans saying the same thing 😳
The difference with NFL is that the game is at least 3 hours long. A game of football/soccer is 90 minutes!!
But we aren't in America.
maybe because this isnt college american football? this is football, a sport made by the working class, for the working class. and we're being priced out of it.
There is just too much greed all everywhere - UEFA, FIFA, the FA, SKY Sports and all the Players, Managers, Agents etc - I for one have reduced my interest to a few highlight videos on RUclips
Let clubs charge what they want. It's down to fans if they want to pay or not. If everyone didn't pay then they d soon lower prices. Same for high shirt prices.
Football used to be a game for the working class. Soon, only the super rich, 1%, will be going to games. Disgusting!

I'm glad spending is down. It makes me sick the prices that are paid by clubs every single transfer window. Hopefully this will have a knock-on effect in academy development and working with the resources these football clubs already have. I'd love to see restrictions put in place for certain competitions regarding squad size/value. Would certainly make things more interesting. Also, Dead Prem 115.
Well said mark the average working man and girl are being priced out of football,, it used to be the sport of the working class ,, not anymore though and it’s brutal now to follow the team people support ,, even more expensive is taking the kids ,, between 2/3 shirts every year ,, match day tickets,, travel ,, food and merchandise it’s unrealistic for fans to keep this up
You wouldn't believe the prices in America 😂 it's triple that for nosebleeds
Whole generations of fans have been priced out of football. The motivation for money is unparalleled, regardless of PSR rules.
Before this, they still increased prices, but they were also going into debt and going bust, plus, he market was distorted forever with the advent of States buying clubs.
Without financial rules, you're up against Saudi Arabia. Literally trillions in spending available. There is literally no other force on earth that competes, no other business.
Yeah...... Clubs, the PGMOL, the FA and anybody else will just step over fans at will.

its good perspective because in the us those tickets would be 3x more
The "stupid PSR rules" wouldnt be so impactful if EPL clubs weren't so frivolous with their transfer spending
Villa can gouge their fans for what, an extra £5m?
EPL clubs throw that money away without a second thought on agent fees, or on some random guys who will never play a first team game
But they have to meet PSR requirements what do you expect, Aston Villa cant spend there own money 🤷 you moan when it is and you moan when its not.
In this cost of living crisis too. Clubs are cutting jobs to keep profit margins up and pay players stupid money and expect fans to fork out a premium for a champions league game?

It's not outrageous at all. ŠK Slovan Bratislava is in the CL for the first time in history and the tickets are around 110€ per game (league game is 18€) and our wages and standard of living is way lower than England.

To hell with the PSR! The rich gets richer, and anyone trying to catch up has to do idiotic stuff like this, that in the end, makes the fans suffer
$125 USD to get into a Villa UCL match? Over in the states that would be considered cheap
There was a article on a sports page i follow on Facebook and it showed how much each team has spent in the past 5 transfer windows and it showed City hardly spending any money. I just found it funny because they have basically stopped spending since they have gotten these 115 charges. To me this is something a guilty team would do when they were constantly spending before this.
Starting to price the proper fans out. No better fans than the working class ones that are dying to go to games and sing their hearts out making for a better atmosphere.
£52 for a season ticket for Guernsey FC. And that’s £50 too much.
For example how much would cost a UCL game Dortmund vs Barcelona an average ticket?Just want to know
Goldbridge you can't have it both ways. You can't slag off PSR/FFP on the one hand for the for low transfer spending this summer and Villa putting up their prices. The on other hand demand that City get relegated for breaching FFP and PSR rules. No rules are ever perfect but without PSR and FFP City and Newcastle would be able to destroy the EPL as a competition period .
Would we? How so city would spend on players they want as they use the academy remember and Newcastle United would be building a while anyway nobody cried when real did it in 09 or united in the 00s but when two non traditional big clubs can spend ohhh no jail them fast you idiot remove ffp let clubs spend as they like
I came from Canada to watch LFC games. It cost me $500 a game 😔. I tried to get tickets all year and was on waiting list but never happened. However, I do understand that the home supporter should get access to those tickets first and I'm okay with it
I can find tickets right now for cheaper then that on ticket selling websites. What happened?

Pop to your local supermarket and you'll see the majority of products are more expensive than they were 2 weeks ago..... And that's on the back of seemingly monthly price hikes......
