The Busanga Plains is undoubtedly the best place for wildlife viewing in Kafue National Park
Kasonso Busanga - the bush camp - is located right in the heart of the prime game viewing area. The Busanga Plains area is perfectly situated to see large numbers of red lechwe, but is also well known for the big lions, buffalo, elephant, wildebeest and relaxed roan antelope.
Kasonso offers superb wildlife encounters at excellent value for money rates and combines superbly with Kafue River Lodge and Kikuji Camp.

The lions of Busanga are a highlight of the region and the encounters of these cats moving around the floodplains is something to behold.

Kasonso is situated in the heart of the Busanga
Kasonso Busanga Camp is situated in a more central location in the Busanga Plains closer to the action and is more accessible early and for longer in the year. The team running the camp is Idos Mulenga (formerly of Wilderness Safaris) and Ferrison who is one of the top birding guides in Zambia.

Kasonso tent features & camp amenities
Kasonso is an authentic bush camp that provides all the important fundamentals of a comfortable camp but focuses on the outstanding guiding and wildlife experience. There are 4 tents, each with ensuite bathrooms and verandahs overlooking the plains. In the central boma area, you’ll find a comfortable seating area, bar and and outside deck which you can use at your leisure.

Travel Logistics: Getting to the Busanga
Kasonso Camp is a 10 minute drive from the Busanga Airstrip and shares the same traversing areas as Shumba, Busanga Bush Camp and Mukambi Plains.
