@@jeffjackson5331 And man it works great! I linked it and a fan to my Elexa and all I have to do is tell it to turn on the heater and fan when I walk into the garage.

Thanks for the video! You're the only person I can find that hardwired it and didn't use a dryer plug. I'm planning on installing one sometime this weekend, and I was wondering if you used 10/3 wire? The wiring diagram makes it out like I should just put a wire nut on the neutral. Right now I'm planning to hardwire because I can't see a reason not to. Is this too hard on your electric bill?

If i am not mistaken it was 10/3 and it came with the ring for the neutral wire so I used it. My whole house is electric but as for the dill I haven't seen much of a difference in the bill. You can just turn it off completely when not in use but I set it to 50 degrees and it keeps the garage at a good temp since I have my classic car stored there and I use the garage allot.

    What is the set range?

From the app I can go as low as 40 and as high as 90. I'm not home right now but hope that helps.

How big of a space are you heating with this? My garage (insulated) is 3 car, 780 sq. ft. - this claims to heat 1,000+ sq. ft. but I'm a bit skeptical. I initially planned to put in a 10,000 watt unit, but I like the smart capabilities of this and keep coming back to it. Just don't know if I'd be making a mistake going this "small".

My garage is just around 500 sqft and insulated but one thing I did find out that the thermostat is built into the unit and cuts it off early when that corner of the garage gets to temp so I use fan to cerulate the air and it works good. I set it to 68 and leave it threw the week when I am at work and it works fine. I also use the app to turn it up before I get home and its nice and warm when I get there. I don't know about 1000 sq ft but I bet it would be ok.

@@TheLostWrenchGarage Thanks for the info - I believe the new unit (and I just ordered it) has solved this, with an external thermostat included.

Can anyone help me out here, I just got one of these and I’m trying to use a 3 prong dryer cord to hook it up to a plug already in my shop , am I correct that the 2 outer wires on the cord go to l1 and l2 on the heater then the middle wire goes to the ground screw ?

@ thank you I appreciate it , I believe I have it figured out my problem is all the videos show direct wire such as you did or the 4 wire set up so me having the 3 prong like a welder or dryer plug had me rethinking how I thought it should be but I believe I got it now I’m going to try and hook it up tomorrow, thanks again for the reply and the help I appreciate it very much
