    Frankly I think it is crazy to call a 900cc bike a "middleweight". Its not. Its only a tiny step below a literbike. Nothing above a 650 is a middleweight.

      Agreed. I don't understand it either.

    Judging people based on the bike they are riding are the time is dumb, if you are into riding and you have done it for awhile you probably have alot of different bikes.

    I bought my first bike 2 months ago. There could not have been a better first bike than my MT-03. I'm literally in love with it. Sometimes I fall to my knees sobbing in Walmart when I remember I have it

      My first bike was an MT03. I LOVED that bike. I wish I still had it. I'm actually planning a video on why everyone should start on a 'smaller' bike. You never get that magical feeling one of those bikes can give you if you jump straight to a 'big' bike. I appreciate my 09 so much more because of it. I miss my MT03 to this day still! Plus those engines are bulletproof! Good choice man!

      MT03 is an awesome bike! Love it. I currently have a 2023 Z400. I would proudly own either.

    Middle weight bikes are great for me. But naked bikes? Depends. If you cruise a lot on Chinese super highway, a sport Ninja is much better than Z 650. Chinese roads just don't meander the hills. They built bridges across valleys. On tall bridges, you get plenty o0f turbulance buffeting. Even my companions complained effect on their BMW GS bikes. My Ninja 650 cut thru without problem.

    They call them middleweights even though they have the power and weight of supersports 20 years ago. But, they have a lot of fancy electronics now to step in if you make a small mistake so the margins of error aren't as bad as similarly specced older super bikes were.

    I agree it wasn't that long ago that a 900 was a very big bike.

      Ridiculous, isn't it? And to think a fair few people get big bikes as their first. Which to me, means they miss the magic of starting on a smaller bike. Which is a shame. Starting on a 300cc had to be some of the best riding memories I have!

    It’s a no brainer all in favor of naked bikes for everyday riding. As you said servicing is a snap on naked bikes which means it is more likely to be done. The pre ride check is easy because you can see everything on a naked motorcycle. Ergonomics are much better and can be modified way faster and easier on a naked bike. The price of all that plastic fantastic on sports bikes. Well you pay for it when you buy the bike $1000.00 to $2200.00 currently. Then you pay 30 to 40 percent more for insurance and 15 to 20 percent more on taxes.

    • @thethrottletube
      @thethrottletube  2 месяца назад

      Exactly this. Very well said, too. I never even factored the insurance part either. It's a lot to ask for a bit of plastic and a usually less comfy ride!

    Ye - a naked bike .... 🤔🤔 Had a couple ( 4 pcs ) of those before..... When warm - aaaaallllll the 🦟🦟🐝🐝🦋🦋🐞🐞🦇🦇 are on your visor , if you move faster than 70km/h ( rural road ) 🤢 When colder ( below 10°C ) - the riding gets uncomfortably cold on those, so pretty thick / uncomfortable gear is MUST ! + a balaclava under the helmet 🥶
    Not to mention the "pleasure" of going, slightly, faster ( 120km/h + ). BUT only, the naked bike gives me a real feeling biking !🤷‍♂ .... Each time I get by a dealer, and try a naked bike, I get a strong urge to by one 😃..... Well, it goes away after a week, or 2, so I keep on riding the ADV type ( 4 now ).

      Yeah, I get that. I was thinking that having less stigma adds to the choice for a lot of people.
      I got stuck in the Harley Dealership last Sunday, and it felt like a cult, lol. When I ride the Harley you get a different kind of attention. Maybe thats just out here in NZ. But yeah, man, thanks for the feedback. I'll definitely try to articulate better in the future! 🤘

    hello ,. I also agree with you. In my opinion, naked bikes are the best value for money, they are even easier and more practical to maintain. and I do some revisions myself,.. at the moment I still have the mt 07, but already on the waiting list,.. for the new mt 09 model. 2024,.. there seems to be a shortage of 09 in stores, so we have to wait,. The forecast will be in September,..but I'm looking forward to it, and also curious to see the differences between one and the other,.. mt 07 and mt 09,.. of course the mt 09 is more motorcycle in many aspects,..but the 07 is fantastic in urban areas,..very fun,..but I believe that both are good machines,..but always respect,..as they are also very powerful,...good curves,..

    • @thethrottletube
      @thethrottletube  2 месяца назад

      Yeah value for money the MT09 is so good for value. You'll love the new generation, it will make the MT07 feel so slow in some ways if that is what you're into. Plus the suspension is a lot stiffer, so cornering is way more premium.
      I just uploaded my MT09 long term review. Watch that, it'll answer everything you'll want to know 😎

      I went from an 07 as my first bike to an 09. It was the bike that got me interested in motorcycling. It’s an enormous jump in power and every bit as rowdy as the 07. The suspension is much better, but not as harsh as a super sport. It definitely feels bigger, but not by much and can be less friendly when putting around traffic. It’s a huge improvement if you do highway riding, which I do a good bit of for work trips.
      You’ll love it, it’ll definitely be worth the wait, but you might find that the 07 was really all you needed.

    These bikes u mentioned in this video is so costly in India, the Japanese brands are sleeping in India, if these bikes come to India via CKD unit it would be buyable ,but no Japanese brands are not serious about Indian market but they sell through CBU unit,, aahh crap

    I found where I live is prone to wind / drizzle and rain - and at those times fairing / screen is magic. Wash from trucks, not an issue. Wind just carves around me.
    The bike technically can handle riding bike big distance - no worries - it’s the rider who gets fatigued by the wind blast and noise. That’s when a naked bike is a lot less fun. (I know some can just take it on the chest - not I)
    I’m sure I’ll get flak for the counter point - but faired bikes have their benefits :) (just don’t drop them haha)

    • @thethrottletube
      @thethrottletube  3 месяца назад +2

      No flack at all man. Everyone's allowed an opinion, and rightly so!!! Yeah I'm definitely one of those warriors that pushes through rain like a mf. I did a 3 hour ride each way one time in peak winter. Was freezing... the MT09 sucked for wind chill for sure. But it sucked less than my back did after riding an R6 3 hours back lol.
      What do you ride? 🤘

    • @StratfordWingRider
      @StratfordWingRider 3 месяца назад

      @@thethrottletube I admire you doing a 3 hour ride like that, that is impressive! I found this winter I upgraded my gear somewhat to resist the cold - warm wool neck gaiters and decent winter gloves for the win!
      Those MT-09s are amazing bikes, I think i would struggle to turn one down. (Even considering the naked style)
      I ride a 2006 Honda Blackbird CBR1100XX quite an exceptional bike for wind resistance and comfort - I can hardly act like I am a pro on it - only owned a year. But she resists wind gusts and keeps me comfortable for the most of it. I'll admit it was a bit of my hero bike when I started riding a while ago - its worth meeting your heroes!
