At the big club winning 1 league title in 9 seasons is considered a failure. At Liverpools 1 in 30 years is ecstasy… that’s why Klopp is a cult hero. Claudio Ranieri won as many as Klopp…
So lfc aren't a big club.
@@russellward4624 They are. Hence the debate if 1PL title in 9 years is a success.
First time I watched this show without skipping any part, props to the folks with the questions...those were interesting questions
lol you can’t expect Nichol to criticise Liverpool. United was 3rd, get into final of FA cup and won Carabao Cup, but according to ESPN’s pundit, it’s a failed season.
Liverpool won Carabao Cup, and could end up finishing 3rd and not in any final, yet it’s not a failure.
Double standard to the max
What do you expect? ESPN is nothing more than a Liverpool fans podcast. 😮
Stupid comment. Liverpool have been at the top if the league all season and still might win it. Utd were struggling for 4th and slipped into 3rd at the last moment. There's no comparison.
@TerribleEnglish Correct. There is no comparison because Liverpool bottled the league, Fa cup and Europa league.
@@phillipkleopas7230 How did Utd do in the CL? Are you looking forward to losing the cup semi c Coventry, lol?
@phillipkleopas7230 can you see the future ? The season is not over Liverpool can still win the league, sure it might be harder now but it's not like they are far off its only 2 points between them and City.
1 premiere title in 9 years does not make you one of the greatest managers. That's your bread and butter. Pep, Mourinho, Ferguson are true world class managers who win season in and out.

I am happy that Klopp is leaving because this is the starting of Liverpool's miserable era
And 115 ffp charges
People have such short memories and don’t even remember the club Klopp inherited. Likewise, when you lose two title races by a single point after collecting 97 and 92 points from a possible 114 over a 38 game season, you just have to acknowledge that City’s standards are ridiculously off the charts. People can try to downplay Klopp all they want but it’s a joke. He has been absolutely immense for Liverpool and one of the best things to ever happen to the EPL. If your first impulse is to try and discredit him that says everything about you and not Klopp. Because he is a legend.
See that's the thing. He's a legend of your club. Not a legend of the premier league. SAF, Pep, Wenger, Mourinho are legends of the premier league.
A prem legend with one title. History won’t be kind to him.
As you rightly say in your statement: "...he has been absolutely immense for Liverpool..."
Indeed he has been immense BUT only for Liverpool. Regarding the premier league he is not in the conversation of best managers in the league due to its record. He is one of the great managers in epl ONLY for liverpool fans. For the rest (which are true), he is bang average.
@@Iamwhatyousayiam I disagree. The comment is 100% spot on. Klopp is a legend of the PL whether you acknowledge it or not. He won the league but had 2-3 very close challenges where a slip here a point there would have seen Liverpool win more league titles. This is also at a time when Man City have been regularly putting up 90+ point seasons and usually closer to 100 pts. Which if you look at the past...Was never really the case. In almost any other era Liverpool's point totals under Klopp would have seen them win 3-4 PL titles.
And that's before even getting into the fact that he led Liverpool to 3 UCL finals. And played some of the most entertaining football of the last decade. And he did all this after starting with nothing and having to build the club up from the depths of mediocrity. He created numerous world class players under his guidance as well. Salah, Mane, Firmino, etc. These players were your average "good" or "decent" type of players who improved greatly under Klopp. He resurrected the careers of players who were considered deadwood like Henderson, Milner, etc. Discovered and developed Trent and Robertson as well. Liverpool before Klopp were lucky to challenge for the league once every 10 years. Most years they were a UEFA Cup team or barely qualified for the UCL. Since he took over they challenged in both PL and Europe for the past 7-8 years or so. Don't be a hater. Klopp is easily in the top 6-8 best managers the PL has ever seen. The guys you mentioned are also legends but they're not the only ones.
SAF then Wenger for me!!!
Liverpool were supposed to win the quadruple 2 of the last 3 seasons. They have 2 League Cup and 1 FA Cup to show for it.
You can’t use the word failure for Liverpool but you can use it to condemn other clubs. ESPN need more clear out than Manchester United 😂
How is it a failure when their aim was top4😂😂😂 the fact they are even challenging for the league completely overachieving plus already won a cup
Stevie's unashamed Liverpool bias has reduced ESPN to a Liverpool fan site podcast.
@nathanmcguckin9518 yes. But like Arsenal last season, expectations change as the season goes on.
Why do you think the term 'bottlejobs' came at Arsenal last season?
@@IamwhatyousayiamArsenal had a large enough lead last season that they should have won.
@@JollyRedGiantno doubt. Arsenal are the bigger bottlejobs out of the two.
“What happens the next day”? Lolol. But Stevie certainly has an amazing memory for any Manchester United losses or mistakes.

Hold That Mr Nicol.
CONGRATULATIONS TO XABI ALONSO AND HIS TEAM
A TRUE MADRID STAR WON'T SKIP 🤍
Unless he goes to city.
Did you mean Madridista?
When Liverpool lost the title by 1 point in 2018/19 with 97 points it was heartbreaking, but it wasnt a failure, City were just a bit better, plus we won the Champions League. But in 2021/22 season losing the title to City, because we couldnt create any chances to score vs Spurs AT ANFIELD, yeah that was a failure. Losing the UCL to Real Madrid in 2021/22 because the guys couldnt score 1 goal with 10 chances, that was a failure. Overall Klopp's loyalty to some players cost us some titles, and the fact FSG didnt want to invest a bit in the club to get more titles is their failure as well. They could have lended some money to LFC but they didnt, so we got Keita instead of Thiago Alcantara. We got Sepp van der Berg after winning the league. We didnt replace Lovren when he left. We didnt sell Ox, Keita, Matip when they were injured for years for multiple times. All of those factors come together and lead to the fine margin losses that we saw and will keep seeing if something doesnt change radically.
GOSHHH STEVIEEEEEEE I LOVE YOU EVEN MORE NOWWWWW THAT SOUR FACE OF YOURS IS LOOKING SWEETER!!!!!
If he were Mourinho he would have been sacked years ago. 1 championship in 9 years. Lol.
Wenger won 3 PL and ZERO CL in 22 seasons. I bet you if Klopp stays that long he wins more
the challenge should be that Klopp should be burdened with building a billion costing stadium over the next 3-4 years and selling his best players 🤝
@palashrawat401 Nobody cares about anything other than winning trophies. Klopp lost the PL twice already by 1 point, getting 97 and 92 points finishing 2nd, but ultimately, no one cares. He's mocked by rival fans daily.
Not if Pep stays at City too

Because charges are claims. You can't punish before charges have been proven. Theres no evidence so be prepared to cry again.
@@justinafrika7860name these fraudulent transactions and whats the evidence?
Liverpool's season is defined by being in the title race right up to mid April (at least), with a whole new midfield and lots of injuries! The cup is neither here nor there.
The only problem Liverpool are having is missing chances I think today they should have score more than 5 Goals
The weird thing is that everyone is missing chances or making the wrong decision in the last third…
Missing a hatful of chances is hardly a minor issue. Are we allowed to say Klopp looks spent and has run out of ideas?

Michael Thomas was a very good player for Liverpool. Well liked by the fans, slightly underused by Roy Evans who was not a top class manager. Thomas is more a Liverpool fan than Arsenal fan because Liverpool's style of play suited him more. For younger ones, Arsenal were not always a silky smooth football team, far from it..
wait, Lee Dixon wasn't a silky smooth player?!? :•O
At the start of the season people were talking about a transitional season because of last seasons performance and a whole new midfield and getting top 4 was said to be an excellent result. Regarding that they have exceeded the expectation

- Fans,Pundits claimed Klopp revamped Midfield
- Szabozlai signing of Season
- Just Carabao Cup not Failure?😂

Michael Thomas went from villain to hero scoring the important first goal for Liverpool in 1992 fa cup final against Sunderland yet they didn't mention that 🤔
There is always two ways when it comes to Liverpool not consistent in winning titles with Stevie, these guys should stop hiding the truth. 💔😂😂😂💔
Hypocrites 😂😂😂😂😂
Ten Haag performed better than Klopp last season at this point 😂😂😂
Carabao cup an FA cup final and third. For Ten Haag
Klopp at this point 3rd and carabao cup only😂😂😂
At the start of the season our aim was to get back in the champions league, we have done that, deverstating with what's happened the last week but still we have had a great season compared to last year, I've always questioned why klopp came out when he did saying he is leaving, it hasn't helped us at all
At the beginning of the season, Top 4 would have been a great success with all the changes in the midfield. Now it will be a letdown if they only win the League Cup. The fact is, they were in position to grab the PL title by the throat and bottled it.
Liverpool is work in progress.....Klopps departure brings with it uncertainty amongst the lads.....until he parts ways there will always be days like this ....
Yes they didn't expect to win the league before he came. But they also had a horrible team filled with bang average players. Liverpool fans keep banging on how they have the best GK, best defenders, best midfielders and best attack in the league along with the best manager and yet SOMEHOW they managed to only win 1 prem and to not see this as a failure is crazy.
Craig's been conveniently M I A during the 2 Liverpool defeats at THE END, FIELD. 😂
The way they celebrated the Carabao cup, you would have thought they won the Champions League cup @ Steve Nichol
Well done to Alonso a true Liverpoolian champ 🎉
I would rather be criticised every week and still win leagues than this these excuses
Liverpool has improved on last year, and that's a fact.
No one thought Liverpool would have challenged for the Premier league so therefore based on last year, it's a success simple
They didn't really challenge. They bottled it!!
Where is Craig today?
Craig can not miss when united lose why?😂
Liverpool are the biggest chokers of premier league. Biggest bottles.
Can Esp turn the music off when the Host and Guests are talking,, FFS
This is exactly what Klopp was trying to avoid. He saw it . He knew that Liverpool has lost its footing with the departure or mane and firminho. It's hard to keep the momentum on. Really especially with unproven players. I've always said Nunez is a good player but he's never a player you can rely on. The fact that he misses sitters are always going to be an issue .
His team selections have been awful recently. A few players look goosed, but starting Endo today was bordering on madness.
Well, It's not like you won 10 consecutive leagues with Mane and Firmino neither
Would've taken top 4 and a trophy in August but it doesn't make it any less frustrating. City will drop points, but only Arsenal I think are capable of capitalising. We have too many problems that aren't quick fixes.
Out of any teams...you'd be a fool to bet against City to drop points this late in the season.
Liverpool needs Southgate.
No my dear ..
If pep wasn’t at city, 100% Klopp would have won more… I mean… 90+ pts and coming second is pretty crazy…. So yes, Klopp has done an amazing job, competing against a man city with a bigger budget and pep… and mostly being main title challengers…
Klopp has won things but he has definitely underachieved in 9 years

Top 4 and a trophy given we lost 9 players this summer and been destroyed by injuries will do for me👍 After Klopp we'll be mid table with no trophies so am happy enough with this season. Arsenal could end up with nothing and they've been better than us. A trophy and being back in the Champions League is about the best we could have hoped for.
Failure if they don't win premier league or Europe league
1989 game will NEVER EVER BE TOPPED, Same with 1999 CLF. NOT A QPR IN SIGHT!
Without VAR incompetence Liverpool would have a minimum of 6 points more
Winning the League Cup cannot be a failure. However, I'm not sure if Klopp can have a statue based on 1 Prem in 10 years
If Man City win FA Cup, Prem and UCL, then the League Cup is better than nothing ... and more than other teams will win
all trophies apart from the league titles and UCL are Micky mouse trophies. Liverpool have won 1 league titles and 2 UCL's in the last 35 years. Thats a pathetic trophy return.

It’s been a very good season, so much so that we raised our expectations! In March we were on for the quadruple having won the league cup.
Given our transition season, the number of injuries- it’s just remarkable we are in with a chance of winning the league !
That will be your last time being this close again for a long while.
Your greatest premier league gaffer only managed 1 league title. Despite challenging many seasons.
No hope for any managers after him.
Your cycle is done.
liverpool overachieved. With a new midfield, we were probably only aiming for top 4 before season started
Quadruple 😂😂😂
This lot a obvious Klopp apologists, 2 major trophies in 9 years is poor regardless of the circumstances. Liverpool say they are a big club even a huge club but 1 EPL and 1 UCL in 9 years is poor for a Big/Huge club regardless of the circumstances. Grow a pair and say it how it is.
This season for Liverpool has not been a failure but they are disappointing people (especially liverpool fans) at the wrong time. They should atleast have one big trophy be it premier league or Europa league considering it is the last season of klopp as liverpool manager ( i know premier league is the biggest trophy available for liverpool but if klopp won the europa league, he will have won all the competition he took part in)
I hate the background music on these videos, just play with audio id presenter's you dont need abrasive music in the background
Problem is many so called fans are so obsessed with the narrative that history only remember victory and in 9 years era under Klopp, Liverpool only win 1 PL and 1 CL. They are so worried what other people especially the rivals fans think of this narratives. It's so difficult to challenge let alone winning it. If winning titles are so easy, Man Utd would have win at least one of these 2 competitions post Fergie era, arsenal would not have to wait 20 years to seriously be the PL title challenger, Chelsea should at least win 1 PL after spending billions pound and city should have won more than 1 CL. In each era, there's always one dominant team in domestic league and we all have to accept the fact that man City is the one in past one decade and to be able to win 1 PL and 1 CL is big achievement for Liverpool that many other top clubs wish for in modern days of football. Even with so much success domestically, City only have 1 CL in their bag, historically.
So, to me, 1 PL and 1 CL along with 1 FA Cup, 2 Carabao Cup can be considered as a success in 9 years tenure. Many teams dream of this achievement.
Why are Liverpool fans giving up already? Liverpool are still in title race, can still win UEL. On either IRS a failure to win 1EPL in 9 years for Klopp, I would say as a Utd fan, its not a failure but your manager for me is very good but also overrated by English media who love him. Yes, they have had a good run, but now in 5 days it is very much in the balance, and seeing the flaws....Seems it is time for changes, the manager appears unwell, exhausted, stressed out, angry, flippant..the players talk when they should not... the results are all over the place, coming from behind is the norm...2 games...2 losses, both critical losses...9 years later, better, but not winners....change has to happen
