The Universe does balance and some time they will be held accountable for their use of such wealth. Death is the great equalizer and all are the same regardless of how big and extravagant their Yachts were.
Most would fall into greed. That's human nature. And this is exactly why you can't rely on the benevolence of the wealthy to "trickle down" ever. This is why an oligarchy wouldn't work (which is where the US is headed). You NEED another balancing element in a central government to tax their wealth gradually as it rises. The problem now is that the wealthy also have control over the government via corruption, lobbying, and propaganda. So we aren't seeing taxes on the wealthy increase, if anything, they have decreased in the past 10 years! We need to continue to fight to take money out of politics. That is the FIRST step. Get rid of citizen's united. If we can't do that, we become an oligarchy. The wealthy will have 100's of yachts like the above and the poor will die. It CAN get worse and it will at this rate.
Ok, this is all too well and to be honest I was amazed by what I saw. But, I can't help but think of all the money that has gone into these rich boy toys. The flipside of wealth inequality, is effort inequality. You can complain about the wealth of others or you can go out in the world and create something worth while.
@@remyr5749 It seems like there may be unspoken assumptions in your post: That ANYONE can become Bill Gates if they work hard enough. That the wealth is infinite and therefore enough for everyone to be Bill Gates. That wealth comes from hard work no matter who you are. None of these assumptions are true. If these assumptions were all true then anyone could become Joe Louis or Muhammad Ali with enough work, but no one believes that because we all understand that some people have gifts that very few others do. Another aspect of this discussion should be the distance between the mega-rich and the rest of us. I read about an interesting way to visualize wealth in feet (distance) since most people cannot really conceive of what billions and trillions actually mean because is too far out of our experience. Let's start with an iconic amount, $1 million, in $100 bills it would make a stack about 12 inches tall (1 foot). Looking at the whole population of the world we can easily realize that only a very small percentage of us will ever have that much money. It takes a 1000 millions to make a billion, so our stack of $100 bills has now gone from 1 foot to 1000 feet tall. For every other billion we have to add another 1000 feet to our pile. Trump isn't particularly wealthy compared to the mega-rich, but by his claims he has a pile of money about 1 mile high (5,280 feet). By comparison Elon Musk has $222 billion, so his pile is 222,000 feet tall (more than 42 miles high). Does ANYONE deserve that much more than everyone else? Can you say with a straight face that all your efforts in life amount to less than 12 inches (assuming that you are not a millionaire) while Musk's efforts are more than 42 miles? I don't believe it. If we make a graph of wealth starting at zero and going to $1 million on a single sheet of standard sized paper (8 by 12 inches) about 70% of the human race would be invisible, their wealth so small that it would not rise above the black line that frames the bottom of the graph. If we compare my wealth to all the rest of humanity I am upper middle class, my wealth on our graph would be between 5/8 and 3/4 of an inch. This level of inequality is not only insane but it's also unethical, those rich people did not get their money solely by hoisting themselves up by their bootstraps. Most of them inherited vast fortunes and those fortunes are maintained by buying political power to tilt the playing field in their favor, by lying, cheating, stealing, luck, and sempiternal greed (sempiternal means having a beginning but no end) that drives them to acquire at the expense of everyone else. Trump actually got nearly half of billion from his father but he still tried to stiff his siblings out of their inheritance and would have if they had not gone to court and stopped him. Nice guy, and he's not a patch on the really rich people. Yes, you can argue that people like Bill Gates give away a lot of money but my position is that it's not enough until everyone is fed, housed, and has medical care at a minimum. It is not possible to be an ethical person and have great personal wealth in the world today, there are too many who have nothing. Another point is that humanity would not have to rape and pillage the Earth nearly so hard and continuously if the enormous wealth we have already taken was shared equally.
I've looked after some amazing vessels in my working life, antifouls, cut'n'polish, teak maintenance, stainless and brass polishing, but these are a whole different level. $2-5 million buys some serious toys, but these could be considered tenders for the yachts on this video. If the money is earned legitimately congratulations, if it's dodgy, well Karma is a bitch. GOOD BOATING
Well most of the people on this list got their money in dodgy ways. Russian Oligarchs did not come by their wealth in an honest manor. The only reason the sheiks have money is because the americans decided to make deals with them for oil they didn't know they had back in the day not to mention other shady business dealings. Gates earned his by making microsoft yet his early days in business he was ruthless and arguably him and steve jobs both stole other companies tech. His philanthropic ways were mainly because of his ex-wife and it was a popular thing to do for tax write offs. Hell Elon and Bezos are making their money in dodgy ways as only silicon valley knows.

A small nuke going off
I wonder what would happen if the tank got hit by a bullet.
No more, possibly less dangerous than a conventional fossil fuel boat. A rupture or even a burning one would burn quickly and rise extremely fast, unlike a regular gas fire that just sits under you and burns slow.
It also requires energy to keep it contained so if that fails it just loses fuel.
It's not even built yet so no one knows how well it will work or not. Every photo of it since 2019 has been a render.

Lol. Of course they do but usually anonymously and to non profit and organizations as It's good for business. It's a tax write off, legal vehicle of bribery, pay off, untaxed way of exchange and a wonderful cleaner, transport and deliver some worldwide. Looking or ignoring things while you feed millions... You think all the 14 dollar a month bleeding hearts fund worldwide organizations that need millions to operate.

Think of what the world would be without Microsoft and the innovations Microsoft invented. Think about how many jobs Microsoft has created, how many tax dollars Microsoft or the employees of Microsoft have paid since its foundation, to the public benefit. And then think about that Microsoft would not exist without Bill Gates. Bill Gates founded Microsoft at the age of 20. Self founded no parents money. What did you found at the age of 20? If you think you will be putting 200.000 People into work with your company in the near future tell me your name and the name of your company and I will be glad to invest in. If not then maybe try too think about what you can do to improve the world rather then thinking of what Bill Gates could do "more" to benefit society. Just my 50 cents.

The flipside of wealth inequality, is effort inequality. You can complain about the wealth of others or you can go out in the world and create something worth while.
@@remyr5749
It seems like there may be unspoken assumptions in your post: That ANYONE can become Bill Gates if they work hard enough.
How many hungry children could be fed with the money one of these excessive ‘toys’ costs?

No one earns that kind of money legitimately. There is always stepping over when you step that high up.
