Yes, The Brits and to a slightly lesser extent, the US acts, were at the forefront of the revolution in pop music into sub genres and established as different forms of art. Most of the highest selling bands in History, still worldwide, are British, e.g. the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones, the Bee Gees, Genesis, as well as successful solo acts e.g. Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, Elton John, David Bowie, Phil Collins, Rod Stewart, Sting. Then there's US/British collaborations, e.g. Fleetwood Mac

The English human and civil rights legislation, free-market capitalism and liberty and emancipation for common citizens, are far greater achievements and exports, from Britain, than anything else listed in this video . Presidential and semi-presidential political structures and all modern constitutions are adapted from the prototype of the British system

I was being sarcastic. If u really want to know truth search for the documents on how British Empire was built on slavery ( reasons why sugar and cotton became common commodity in England ) and how British Empire was one of the prominent trader of Slaves.
In fact, in 1833 when British abolished slavery, Empire paid a compensation of 20 million Pounds not as reparations to those who had lost their lives or who had suffered or been oppressed by slavery but to those who had lost their property
If u really want to know the atrocities done by British Empire then search about it in International media and archives. Do not believe what British government teaches you

    • @Rowlph8888
      @Rowlph8888 Год назад

@@andylongbottom9350 Yes. So what you just said means nothing.Every empire used slavery, but the Brits were the ones to end Slavery forcibly on the high seas by bankrupting countries use of it over a protracted period. This would lead to reckonings happening in every country in the world, leading to ratified legislation against slavery virtually everywhere.
This is arguably the single greatest achievement as a movement of vast amounts of people in history

Pretty good video, pertinent facts, except Probably the most important and influential one. The most impressive thing about the UK was the beginnings of complex human and Civil Rights legislation and the origin and export of liberalised and emancipated citizenship, free-market capitalism and separation of monarchy from Parliament and church.
Before the U.K.'s system, the world was just full of monarchies and autocratic rule, without any standard of living for common citizens. Specifically, 7 items of human and civil rights legislation, ratified in British law, originating from Anglo-Saxon common law (1041) >through the Charter of liberties (1100) and the Magna Carta (1215) and culminating in the English Bill of Rights (1689), enabled the American constitution and Bill of Rights, founding fathers of USA(all British Citizens in 1776), 1 of whom (Thomas Jefferson) helped LaFayette draft the Declaration of the rights of man and the Citizen and the French constitution, adopting laws already drafted in British legislation.
there probably wouldn't be any rights for common citizens right now without British law, because there really was no Precident for this beforehand. This was also the precursor and individual rights awareness driver for the galvanising of support for the worldwide abolition of the slave trade and the charter movement, for the British Working class

The drinking of alcohol is false. You can have one beer in a restaurant at the age of 16. At the age of 5 you can have a beer in a pubs beer garden provided it's never consumed in the pub and bought by the parent or legal guardian. At the age of 16 you can legally enter a night club but not drink. Bar laws are very complicated and these may be loop holes they're true.

It must of happened after I got my licence. But before 2003 a beer garden wasn't considered part of the premises. Of course I wouldn't of allowed it if I saw it I also didn't let 16 year olds have a pint with a meal. I was a strict enough manager.

    It’s all very simple:-
The United Kingdom, consists of four states, that don’t like each other.
A Strongly Capitalist, Socialist, Democratic, Monarchy.
A nation famed for its stability and ancient traditions, that lacks a fixed constitution. Consequently it’s system of governance is constantly changing and evolving.
A small country, that thinks itself big (small man syndrome).
Spreader of the English Language around the world, but not around the U.K.
Inventor of almost all sports, but not really a sporting nation.
A largely atheist Christian, peace loving, warmaking, all conquering, land grabbing, civilising influence.
