  • After going for a ride in another plate alloy boat which was MUCH quieter than mine, I have decided to take the matter into my own hands and have therefore devised a genius / cunning plan to totally quieten down the ride!!!
    Let me know what you think!??

    Good to see you finally took my advice on the cheap bunnings foam matting..
    Although I said to use it on the floor as opposed to that tube matting when you did your tube matting vid, but good idea to use it in the cab as well 👍
    Try 3M double sided tape to fix it off👍

  • @bulldog1131
    @bulldog1131 Год назад +1

    The water hits the outside of the boat not the inside so go knock on the outside and see the difference. It will provide acoustic insulation, however it needs to be tested from the external and reading taken internal before and after. You will also get some other benefits such as thermal and less condensation.

    • @BaitBallin
      @BaitBallin  Год назад

      It definitely worked well, made a large difference although still nowhere near as quiet as my glass boat now.

    This’ll work and a great idea. How do you reckon it would go on the floor of a centre console. Will it take the abuse that it would undoubtedly cop.

    • @BaitBallin
      @BaitBallin  2 года назад +1

      Yes I think it will work well just about anywhere.... I could easily run this all the way to the back of the boat, down sides on floor etc.most of the noise in mine comes from up front so this should solve alot of it id say

    • @jb243wp
      @jb243wp 2 года назад +1

      It will work well, as the foam panels get damaged which they will all you need to do is pull it up replace it
      They are good under feet when out for long extended periods.

      Hey mate I'm a bit the same with the noises in plate boats, and its a lot worse in pontoon boats - constant hollow drumming/banging sounds when anchored up. Have you heard of misophonia? Always wondered if I have it lol

    Hi Mark.
    A bit off topic, but did you end up ever installing an electric motor on the bow of your BC? Can I ask your thoughts on installing such a unit on the BC (including all the associated kit with batteries, etc.)?
    Cameron

    • @BaitBallin
      @BaitBallin  Год назад

      I never did. To do it well you really need the bow mount plate moulded from factory. I don't like bolt on later stuff. But it can and has been done and they are very effective for a range of situations

    • @Camh1968
      @Camh1968 Год назад

      @@BaitBallin thank you. When you had your BC, did you anchor up much? Did you fish stationary offshore a lot as well as trolling?

    • @BaitBallin
      @BaitBallin  Год назад

      Virtually never anchored outside the heads. Only on bays, estuaries. In open ocean, drifted and trolled

    • @Camh1968
      @Camh1968 Год назад

      @@BaitBallin Thanks. When drifting offshore - can you share some techniques / tips for this activity from the BC?

    • @BaitBallin
      @BaitBallin  Год назад

      Well first thing is you need to deploy a sea anchor absolutely a must! Slows down your drift, you can then use lighter singlets and jig heads etc to get down. Start with that and watch your catch rate improve

    Wonder how this went? Did they stay in place when travelling Into swell? I’m Also I’m curious on your thoughts of barcrusher copying the surtees hull design without any compensation. That’s the main reason I’ll never buy one. I love buying Australian made products but the Cleland brothers are thieves in my opinion

    • @BaitBallin

      Hey haven't been able to get out yet, will be very soon though. I don't believe they are going to move at all. My thoughts on BC? I just stay out of it. Be careful of the product make up, Quintrex nearly went broke having to warranty repair and retro fit the black rubber inserted between the hull and ribs. I understand the carbon black in the rubber was very conductive when in a salt environment accelerating electrolysis eating the hulls away. My Bar Crusher is also annoyingly very noisy both when at rest and underway.

    • @BaitBallin
