- After going for a ride in another plate alloy boat which was MUCH quieter than mine, I have decided to take the matter into my own hands and have therefore devised a genius / cunning plan to totally quieten down the ride!!!
Let me know what you think!??

Excellent Idea
Awesome idea hope it works. Getting my 670ht next week & was getting quotes to carpet cabin, I do like the way the Yellowfin is all carpet in cab. Can't wait till you test run
Yeah carpet will look nice, just get it done professionally I say!
Good to see you finally took my advice on the cheap bunnings foam matting..
Although I said to use it on the floor as opposed to that tube matting when you did your tube matting vid, but good idea to use it in the cab as well 👍
Try 3M double sided tape to fix it off👍
Yep good advice!!! Looking forward to it
Yeah wow does look amazing great job 🇦🇺👍❤️
Thanks!! It looks bloody good hahah
Added a photo on Instagram, showing how I've cut and added the edging everywhere now. Looks bloody immaculate! Almost like artwork 🤣
Great idea mate💪
Thanks mate!
Its closed cell and reduces the condensation. So now he can actually have a nap in the cuddy without it raining. Its a super fix. The stuff also comes in blue.
Everyone should be doing this!!
Great idea 👍 it absolutely has to help, I’ll be interested to see if it needs attaching
I cut it to size so ita wedged. Doesn't move at all
another good video mate, about the only thing I don't like about my 670 is the hull noise so if this works you're a genius. Waiting to see the end result!
Yep this is going to make the 670 sound like a bloody submarine. Dead quiet 🤣
Best idea 🤙
Yep huge improvement! Bargain
My 780ht is lined with marine carpet from the factory, it is nice and quiet so this should work well.
Yep I agree! Can't wait to try it out
Question - Bar crusher Knock Knock - Who's there? Fish Answers : Drummer
Yep pretty much correct there
The water hits the outside of the boat not the inside so go knock on the outside and see the difference. It will provide acoustic insulation, however it needs to be tested from the external and reading taken internal before and after. You will also get some other benefits such as thermal and less condensation.
It definitely worked well, made a large difference although still nowhere near as quiet as my glass boat now.
I did that as well but not around the fuel tank cap as i was a little worried about static electricity and fuel vapour ? Thoughts
I just cut around it and left it....it's fully sealed
How did this turn out in the end? Did you do a follow up video?
Hey yeah I removed a few videos off memory. Turned out well, many other people also did it in their boats and reached out to me. Good cheap mod.
This’ll work and a great idea. How do you reckon it would go on the floor of a centre console. Will it take the abuse that it would undoubtedly cop.
Yes I think it will work well just about anywhere.... I could easily run this all the way to the back of the boat, down sides on floor etc.most of the noise in mine comes from up front so this should solve alot of it id say
It will work well, as the foam panels get damaged which they will all you need to do is pull it up replace it
They are good under feet when out for long extended periods.
Yeah agree... It's going to work 100%
Hi. I know you have recently sold your 670 BC, but did you ever test the boat on water with the installed rubber matting up front? How did it go? Cameron
Hey did a video on it
Many thanks. I am unable to locate that video on your channel? Are you able to upload the link? Regards. Cameron
You know, they actually make products specifically for that purpose. I doubt that will be very effective, it needs to be glued down so it can absorb vibration.
Yeah didn't want to stick down as knew I'd be selling at some point
Not sure why Bar Crusher does not put lining in the cabin given the price tag.
Yep agree
Good idea, especially for the money. A more expensive idea might be spray in truck bed liner.
Yeah totally. I guess this is also me trying the concept put first just to absolutely confirm it works as I expect
Would also add some warmth. Great idea
Yep agreed! I'm seriously confident this is going to make a great difference
Hey mate I'm a bit the same with the noises in plate boats, and its a lot worse in pontoon boats - constant hollow drumming/banging sounds when anchored up. Have you heard of misophonia? Always wondered if I have it lol
Hahaha no haven't hear of it, but after owning so many glass boats, the noise shits me. It rides bloody well, but gotta sort this noise out
Hi Mark.
A bit off topic, but did you end up ever installing an electric motor on the bow of your BC? Can I ask your thoughts on installing such a unit on the BC (including all the associated kit with batteries, etc.)?
Cameron
I never did. To do it well you really need the bow mount plate moulded from factory. I don't like bolt on later stuff. But it can and has been done and they are very effective for a range of situations
@@BaitBallin thank you. When you had your BC, did you anchor up much? Did you fish stationary offshore a lot as well as trolling?
Virtually never anchored outside the heads. Only on bays, estuaries. In open ocean, drifted and trolled
@@BaitBallin Thanks. When drifting offshore - can you share some techniques / tips for this activity from the BC?
Well first thing is you need to deploy a sea anchor absolutely a must! Slows down your drift, you can then use lighter singlets and jig heads etc to get down. Start with that and watch your catch rate improve
Wonder how this went? Did they stay in place when travelling Into swell? I’m Also I’m curious on your thoughts of barcrusher copying the surtees hull design without any compensation. That’s the main reason I’ll never buy one. I love buying Australian made products but the Cleland brothers are thieves in my opinion
Hey haven't been able to get out yet, will be very soon though. I don't believe they are going to move at all. My thoughts on BC? I just stay out of it. Obviously that sort of stuff is never good, but unfortunately it happens all the time. I just try to keep my videos purely about the products
Next trip is booked for 3-5 so will upload then if not before,, I had to cancel a trip due to terrible weather unfortunately....
Trying to get out this weekend, will see as I am also very interested to see how it goes!!!! It bloody has to work
Those mats look kinda thin, spray foam would've been much better, might've been a little more work, but if you work in sections you could shape it before it hardens
I don't do anything to this boat that causes permanent changes.... Must all be removable
Be careful of the product make up, Quintrex nearly went broke having to warranty repair and retro fit the black rubber inserted between the hull and ribs. I understand the carbon black in the rubber was very conductive when in a salt environment accelerating electrolysis eating the hulls away. My Bar Crusher is also annoyingly very noisy both when at rest and underway.
Yeah good point. Haven't noticed anything yet but will keep an eye on it. Yeah they are noisy for sure..... especially coming from a glass boat which I did
Just buy a Surtees already
Hahahah nah not yet 😜🤣
@@BaitBallin it’s painful to watch.
Yeah yeah just keep watching until I switch hahaha
@@BaitBallin lead time is like 12 months plus so better go order it now so when you finally see that it’s just better you will have it.
Still more models to water test yet!
Hey Bait Ballin
just brought 670 HT how many Packs of 4 did this end up taking ?
cheers Mate
Shit, tbh I can't remember. By the time you cut and trim etc, maybe have been 5 or 6 packets.i only did the cabin
Just swap to a Stabicraft and get the foam filled option done.
Yes it may happen yet!!!
This isn't my last rig, I'm always changing and upgrading things
Keep the tutorials coming gives the boating public different options and like me an option I’m definitely adding to the list in my new boat.
Exactly! No worries
Also just saying this cost me $77.00 and took 1 hour so if it works Il be pretty pleased hahah
Put some dnb on and you good!
Keeps the sex noise down as well…
I use the same stuff on the walls of my sex dungeon. But seriously, great idea.
Hahaha!!!
