    Important info: Right now I'm testing the mods for the next Assetto Corsa championship on PC. The next video will be the video inscription for the drivers!
    After the AC championship, I'll make a PC2 championship. Stay tuned! ;-)

      Just to let you know, i sent you a friend request on Steam (nick is VicioTar) i have Assetto Corsa with all the DLCs and very soon i will buy a better steering wheel and will also upgrade my pc ^_^ i will let you know if i will be able to join the championship tho, i might be quite busy for work, sadly >_>

      I want to join the championship too, however, there is school that I have to concentrate on. Not to mention that my wheel setup isn`t the best, but still decent (I have an old Fanatec 911 wheel) and my PC isn`t really the best for gaming (it has a GTX 1050ti, but only a two core Intel core i3 and 6GB of RAM). However, I am looking forward for the championship and can`t wait. I also might be the youngest participant.

    I'm actually really happy that Viper, instead of talking, uses text to get whatever he's saying across. Today, YT is full of people yelling into mics and their face covering half the screen and it takes forever for them to get to the point. Noone has neither the time nor the will to read paragraphs, so Viper gets his point across quickly and simply, which I like. Besides, all those little mistakes in spelling and expressions that he makes? It's a part of the charm for me, actually. Gives him a character, or a "personality" which makes them a joy to read.
    That is not to say I'd be mad should Viper start using a mic, and I'd definitelly would not stop him from doing so. After all, it's the content that matters, and the quality we are getting is fantastic.
    Keep doing as you do Viper, you do it very well indeed.

      Šnek i could not agree more with you, but IMO you can't compare a RUclipsr Who loves the content he's bringing to the channel with passion, and a RUclipsr Who for the first 5 minutes only talks about sponsorships and/or trying to sell his own merchandise. You Just cant compare them, they are on different levels.

    And I'm very surprised by the ABS system, it's a "detail", put it is great and often lack in modern sim.
    Will wait few weeks before buying the game I think, IA seems buggy as fuck, game is still bugged in some way and needs patch first... but seems to be a lot better than the first one. Hope the multiplayer is great !

    I've been dying to hear what you think of PC2. I love the engineering behind PC2... for example, my radio guy told me my engine temps were getting high. I ignored him, thinking that just like in all the other racing games on the market, I could just hammer on and not worry about it with stock settings. Nope. My engine blew. That NEVER happened before to me with a similar car in similar conditions in either AC, PC1, or RF2. And you're spot on right about the ABS. I've never seen it modeled like this before. AND it is possible to change your pit settings during the race. There are key assignments available to do it... but it's very difficult to do while racing due to it takes a lot of key presses or (in my case) joystick hat movements. You can set up many different types of pit settings and choose between them while you're on track.

  • @viperconcept
    @viperconcept  6 лет назад +74

    I want to point out a last thing about the FFB: I haven't specified in the video there's a possibility to have a more informative steering wheel to feel better the road (imperfections/holes etc...) but it will sacrifice the strength of your wheel.
    Summing:
    More road/grip infos from your steering wheel = too light - weak
    More FFB strength = less road/grip infos.
    You can't have both.

      IF you are using PC then jackspades FFB custom files for PCars2 are a massive improvement to the FFB imo

    • @beasaboy14
      @beasaboy14 6 лет назад +6

      100% agree with bakermiaz. I found the ffb numb and lifeless at first, then I tried jackspades tweaker files and it completely changed my view. It was like a different game altogether. If your on PC, I highly suggest trying his files.

    • @bradleyland
      @bradleyland 6 лет назад +4

      It’s like pCARS 1 all over again with the Jack Spades stuff. If Jack Spades is so spot in, why don’t the developers just use the guy as a consultant? Answer: because those settings aren’t all they’re cracked up to be.
      Why can Kunos get it so right, while SMS continues to miss the mark? I don’t get it.

    I'm not here to start an argument but I'm assuming when you mentioned how you didn't feel you were getting enough information from the wheels with the force feedback, maybe Slightly Mad Studios are trying to simulate a real steering rack like rFactor 2, especially since so many race cars have power steering as well. I haven't played PCars 2 with a wheel yet because I'm at school and my wheel is at home so I can''t say whether i think the ffb is good or bad.

    Thanks for the review, it covered a lot of stuff no other reviews did.
    I got the game yesterday, and I've been messing around with the FFS since, but overall I'm pretty happy with the improvement from PC1. So far, I've found it a lot easier to keep on the black stuff than I did in PC1, and I think most of that has come from the better feeling for the grip I get in PC2.
    I played PC1 on 100% difficulty, no assists. So I set PC2 on the same settings, and played a track I've recently been on in PC1 (Laguna Seca), and I found that the AI in PC2 were a lot weaker under some heavy braking than in PC1. Conversely, they seem better under acceleration and through fast corners. In PC1 @ Laguna, I'd often pass AI on the exit of turn 2, inside on turn 3, or get a better exit through turn 4 to pass into 5. I'd always have to defend the inside line like crazy into the last corner, as the AI could always outbrake me there. In PC2 yesterday, I found myself mostly overtaking under braking into the last corner. I found these differences odd. Anyone else experience similar?
    Overall, the AI seem a bit better, but still not good. First laps are pretty rubbish, then the racing gets OK. They seem less willing to randomly crash into you in corners.

    I found the answer for ffb: Informative and fx are non-useful, suspension info, raw and tone are drivers side forces, nothing to do with wheel and front tires grip lose and gain as you mention you wish to feel. So Immersive and weight, is the only thing you need. So immersive, 100 (gain), 30 (weight), 0 (tone), 0 (Fx). You can feel every change in grip levels of front tires, very smooth, crisp and clear. Pure realism.

    I understand your feelings viper! I have a Logitech Driving force GT and I spent DAYS trying multiple FFB configuration on Pcars 1, without getting anywhere, the wheel always felt like it wasn't connected to the tires but with some viscous liquid-something.
    You said in Pcars 2 it's hard to drive without aids, but I believe it would be much easier if the FFB was communicative, so you would FEEL what the car is about to do instead of having to SEE it, when it's too late already. If they could just use Assetto corsa's FFB.....

    Loved the intro Viperconcept
    Speaking for myself have never been a fan of full sims. I loved Dirt Rally but I also hated it. Love and Hate were equal. But I loved Dirt 4 more. Why? Simple... forgiveness. I do not own a wheel, I use a game pad (always have and will never change). Dirt Rally had little no forgiveness. You screw up and you start over again (once did a stage 20 times). Dirt 4 gave me that forgiveness (even on the 'sim' handling model).
    I've heard about all the bug on 1st PC but You (Viper) and few others i'm subbed too car related have sold me on PC2. Even if it is a full sim. I'm not much into driving models but prefer "getting into the nuts and bolts" if you will.

    Slight addition for the pit strategy bit: You can adjust pit strategy while you are on the track using the little mini-menu thing. It is a pain unless you have some long straights, though.
    Also, I've heard there is still the possibility to fine tune FFB in a program file like those of us who are familiar with Jack Spades Tweaker files from PCars 1 have done before. SO there is hope for more refined FFB settings. I do feel like they should have an "Advanced" ffb option where you can adjust these more like PCars 1, but I have a feeling that if SMS doesn't address this, someone like Jack Spades and company will hopefully come guide us to the promised land of modified program files.

    Can some1 explain FFB? You actually kinda get the feed back like you would ina car if you buy a nice wheel setup? Thanks in advance

  • @biggie4429
    @biggie4429 6 лет назад

    Do you always drive with authentic driving assists for every car or do you sometimes turn fake driving assists on? I use the G29 steering wheel and I find it quite hard to drive some cars without the fake driving assists so I struggle trying to decide if I should always keep them off or use the driving assists for specific cars.

    • @viperconcept
      @viperconcept  6 лет назад

      Always authentic. If they aren't present in the real car, they won't be present in the virtual car too. If someone can't drive a car with authentic driving assists, that means it's not skilled enough to handle that car. If I can't drive a car because it's too hard, I simply start training with it until I'll be able to handle it.

    I have long liked your videos, but I have to say. Some of your comments are very accurate. But, things like weight greatly affect a car, as do track temps and tire temps/pressures. Having driven real cars on real tracks, this makes sense. You have to build the tires up to pressure before they really come into there own. As far as feel goes, many real life drivers gave input that it's very accurate to what a real race car is like, right down to the FFB. In today's world of Sims, you need a wheel no less than a quality of an Fanatec, having had a logictech g29 and a fanatec, there is no comparison, the wheel quality makes all the difference to what you feel from the car. Again I have long loved watching your videos, and I am attempting to be nice in my pointing out of things.

    will you make a good controller setup? I don't have a wheel yet and I'm new to sim. I'm saving up for a good wheel. but in the time being I'm stuck with the ps4 controller. if anyone else knows a good setup, it would be much appreciated

    Sympa ce petit test, (meilleur que certains "pros" d'ailleurs) et l'ayant acheté aussi c'est vraiment du bon, la physique a bien évolué, le FFB est bon, sans etre excellent, il tourne mieux que PC1 sur ma machine mdr et puis l'immersion est excellente, l'option de discuter avec l'ingé de piste pour t'aider dans les setups, le fait de controller sa voiture dans la pitlane et dans les départs lancés (j'éspere qu'ils rajouteront le safety car plus tard ^^), et puis c'est pas tres bugué a ce que j'ai vu, juste du clipping d'ombre, et l'impossibilité (pour certains, moi compris :/) de se connecter a une session en ligne, mais sa a été patché dans la soirée.
    Du coup Viper si sa t'intéresse de rouler ajoute moi sur steam ^^

    Strangely I agree with every single point. On the FFB bit, check out the preset by Slawek, there's a new version from 6/25/18 (less than 2 months old at time of this writing) and so far I think it's the best I've tried in PC2.

    Assetto Corsa also has this "struggle" in the ABS, but the sound isnt simulated unfortunatly. If you turn on essentials for your hud you will see ABS flicker when braking instead of beeing always on.

    Though it is my first ps4 racing game, I love it. All those features, cars and tracks. I don't know if gtsport, asseta Corsa or other racing games are just as good, but I recommend this game to everyone who loves some circuit racing. I've played forza 3 on the 360, but you can't compare that game to this one. So you can say it's my first racing game. 🙈 I'll be busy figuring all this stuff out, but you and your channel already helped me a lot! Wish me luck hehe😅🙄

    I just got the game today have to say it is worth buying.it fun to mess around with the settings for example weather,car set up ect. It's definitely an improvement for PC1 as I didn't think PC1 was that bad yes I know it had its downsides but so far I'm loving the game. I guess PC3 will be amazing if they make a third one.Oh not to forget love the review Viper!

    Hi Viper, do you have any tips for people playing with a controller? I've tried multiple inputs, I finally am able to steer through a corner and the steering feels responsive, but I feel slow and sluggish... I can't get my car up to speed and overtake...

      GAMING MASTER thanks for the reply, but was looking more for input specific like steering assists on or off, what numbers for sensitivity etc. And yes I do practice a lot, but I don't have the spave for a steering wheel setup and all.

    Ciao viperconcept, mi potresti fare un piccolo riassunto delle tue prime impressioni? In inglese capisco poco. in confronto ad assetto com'è?

    • @viperconcept
      @viperconcept  6 лет назад +1

      - Quando guidi hai un senso di pesantezza dell'auto nettamente superiore (non un difetto o pregio, é solo una caratteristica).
      - Sistema di guida globalmente più difficile rispetto agli altri simulatori.
      - Netto miglioramento per quanto riguarda la fisica rispetto al primo Pcars.
      - FFB del gioco con qualche lacuna.

    • @AlexThePowerslave
      @AlexThePowerslave 6 лет назад

      viperconcept ah, quindi sei italiano,buono a sapersi... gran bei video, ti faccio i miei complimenti.
      Per quel che mi riguarda sono daccordo con molti altri utenti che stanno iniziando a capire che probabilmente pc2 è più realistico rispetto Ac. Sia chiaro, io amo assetto corsa, ma le auto in realtà non sbandano così tanto in curva, può sembrare realistico comparato a pc1, ma quando si vanno a vedere video di giri in pista nella realtà comparati con pc2, si può notare chiaramente quanto il gioco sia vicino al vero.
      E per quel che riguarda il FFB, segui bene il discorso per favore, direi che pc2 è più realistico perché nella realtà il volante non trasmette tutto quello che viene trasmesso ad esempio su assetto corsa. E il motivo per cui molta gente, te compreso, pensa che il FFB di assetto sia il migliore, sta solamente nel fatto che vengono trasmessi gli spostamenti di carico attraverso il volante, cosa molto utile per un Sim, ma che differisce dalla realtà assolutamente.
      Quindi tecnicamente se uno vuole un FFB più realistico dovrebbe scegliere pc2, mentre se si vuole un FFB pompato che sia più utile per la guida simulativa allora dovrebbe scegliere assetto corsa.
      Non avrei mai pensato di dirlo, ma per me assetto ha perso la corona.
      Ho preso coscienza del fatto che sia un gioco "pompato", in modo che, chi gioca ai sim sembri molto realistico, ma avere più sbandate non vuol dire necessariamente più realistico, analogamente a come più difficile non voglia dire più realistico.
      E poi su pc2 le gomme si deformano... su ac sembra di guidare su dei mattoni senza grip a volte.

    I'm very new to sim racing, I recently picked up AC and PC2 and enjoy both, although I do play with a controller rather than a wheel. There's one thing about this video which confuses me. To me the cars in PC2 definitely feel lighter and more nimble than the cars in AC. The exact opposite of viperconcept's statement. Any ideas why I'm experiencing that? Is it to do with using a controller? I just don't see how we experienced the exact opposite thing. Awesome vid tho

      Hey mate :) I had the same reaction and it's because we play with a controller. In AC, cars feels much more agile than PC2 with a wheel. But I find PC2 more agile with a controller.
      Enjoy :)
