I bought this for £20 for a recent holiday for me and the wife to keep our phones In (and our hotel key card) for around the pool. Was perfect for that
Alpaka vertical sling owner here, it’s perfect in all aspects except sometimes I wish it had a secondary strap so it didn’t slide around so much when bending over, riding bikes, etc
Secondary add-on strap is a good call although not sure how many ppl would actually buy one (so I might understand why Alpaka didn’t include it in the design)
I've been using this since it came out. Quick phone access while out and about is killer. Wish more slings had this feature. Zippers are great and definitely more secure, but sometimes quick access is worth the trade-off.
I'm on a search for an organizer that neither big nor small, the one that I can put in a sling (Evergoods MHP). This one is the closest thing to that "vision" that is available to me) The ability to wear it outside of a bag by strapping it to whatever is definitely a bonus.
I love vertical bags (pouch, man bag, etc.) and ones with that type opening "hinged" or "gusseted" (or whatever you call it) opening are awesome. I wish someone made a 13" bag exactly like this.
Your bag making journey made me simultaneously want to design and make a bag and never think about designing and making a bag. I don't think I have the energy.
Also!!! Loved the addition of Margaret to show this on different body types, but, like every other area is fashion, larger men are left guessing. I'm 5'11", 250, and always having to guess what a bag might look like worn on me. You need a beefy dude! Still, appreciate that you're roughly average size to compare to taller/shorter or thicker/thinner people. I've seen some bag companies who only use the most petite women to model their bags, so everything looks huge and not how they would look worn on the average person...
@@Nomads.Nation just pic a random guy off the street whose photogenic 🤣 JK but we appreciate all that you do. And, like I said, you're a good sized model to reference for anyone in the size spectrum
Hey! I've been looking at a few of your videos in the recent days and really like the style and information in your reviews. I found a cool bag from Alpaka called the Elements Tech Brief Pro but I can't really find any good reviews of it and I don't feel like blind buying without some trustworthy opinions first. I'm woundering if you would consider reviewing the Elements Tech Brief Pro and tell me your opinion on it? I found the 3 in 1 nature of it pretty cool.
It's a great sling but there's a lot of vertical space that's unused if you're using the organization properly. You'd need a very tall phone or tall notebooks to completely utilize the vertical dimensions.
It gives me "cell phone belt clip" when it's on the strap, but it seems like a great little design overall (unless cell phone belt clips are cool and I missed it?).
This one can also be worn on the belt. 🤣 Honestly bummed at how corny it looks on practice because, in theory, that's the kind of product I wanted to be able to easily access my phone when using another bag.
I’m thinking the new Metro Sling V2 would be a better purchase. Same price and currently comes with the HUB carabiner (worth $25). I may place an order today and if I do will be using your code. Thank you!
The Metro Pouch is a GREAT addition to a larger sling. I have it on my Alpaka Go Sling for when I need quick access to my wallet, buds, beard comb, pocket knife, and work badge. A bit too small for much else, but saves you from needing to swing your sling around to get into its pockets for your little things.
Can you please review the Alpaka Shift Pack V2? I can’t find a good review for it anywhere… plus I trust your, and only your, reviews 😅 I’m so tempted to get it but I can’t do it without you reviewing it. And the Alpaka elements tech brief pro too if you can.
@@Nomads.Nation thank you so much! I’m looking forward to it. I’ll wait before I make my decision. Seems like Alpaka discontinued the tech brief and came out with the tech brief pro which has some differences from the original tech brief. I watched the original video (and all others😬).
I saw these in a short by Marisa over at Gear For The Girls..have you seen that channel? It's really really good.. 😉 Looking forward to her review.. but I'll watch this one too.. I guess. 😁
In my head canon, this review was inspired by the thread I started on Reddit that Aaron chimed in on. I've been using this thing pretty regularly for about a month now, and I love it. As noted, there's not a ton of space, but I was looking for something small. I will note that the Vertical Sling mentioned as a potential alternative appears to be on its way out - they've currently got it on clearance over on their "outlet" page.
They just look, all sling bags, like the dude wearing it probably cannot change a flat tire, or drive a stickshift car. Plus, "babe?! Have you seen my sling bag?" Sounds really not masculine.

Ive been using this for 1.5 years. Loving it so far.
Awesome to hear!
Neat for long boarders, lightweight for just the essentials!
good call!
Alpaka stuff is always at least good. Very functional. Glad they exist.
Agreed!

Always a trade off
can you do a review of the alpaka metro sling v2
Hoping to soon!
hmm question. can i hook it onto a tactical belt?
in theory I think so, but I'm not sure how well
Can i use as vertical belt bag?
kind of, but it’s not really designed for that
Modular Sling or Modular Phone Sling V2? I just purchased my first iPhone-16 ProMax. Need help deciding which sling to protect my new phone.
I haven't reviewed V2 so can't say for sure 😬
Will Fyro make a sling eventually?
With 100% certainty
You’re a fun guy, just bought one with your code. Thanks!
Thank you so much!!
Matador Speed Stash is a good alternative, and it doesn't have removable straps to also work as a sling
I gotta review more Matador gear

Does front compartment fits iphone 15 pro max while the inner compartment also filled with items?
don't have one so can't say, I'd recommend reaching out to Alpaka customer support - they'll get you sorted
What about Wandrd X1 - medium or small - as an alternative?
Great call! Not my favorite but many ppl like it
I use this when I jog strap it up nice and tight and it holds phone, keys and wallet and AirPods case
nice!
Would this fit the new Osmo Pocket 3?
Not sure what that is…
Looks kinda nerdy but I like the quick access aspect of the modular design. Might look better in black so it doesn’t stand out
black is always the most subtle

The shift pack could definitely fit your 1-bag series and the new tech brief for your work/edc series

Please use the human hand metric to talk about volume in the future 😂
its clearly the most accurate and scientific measuring method lol
Personally find sling pouches too small/dangly when wearing cross body. Too bulky for backpack attachment, or belt clip
sounds like size-purgatory for you lol
Unclear if a full size phone with a case would fit here.
be sure to reach out to Alpaka and let us know what they say!
They just look, all sling bags, like the dude wearing it probably cannot change a flat tire, or drive a stickshift car. Plus, "babe?! Have you seen my sling bag?" Sounds really not masculine.
to me the most masculine thing of all is being secure in yourself and not really care what anyone thinks of you
The term is not pouch or sling, it is a MAN PURSE! But if it makes you feel better, call it a sling or pouch or even a min back pack.😂
