Dong Valley is in the Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh, on the left bank of the Lohit River, and about 6 km from Walong town.
Dong Valley is famous for being one of the first places in India to see the sunrise. Tourists climb a peak in the area at around 3 AM to watch the sunrise.
The village of Dong is home to the Meyor tribe, who have a rich cultural heritage and blend their traditional beliefs with Mahayana Buddhism.
