Papa and mama Takagi are in my opinion the most badass couple ever!
Honestly its a real shame this show ended. I know the manga continued a bit after the show, but it wasnt enough... this show if they dialed back on the gravity defying titties and upskirt panty shots, this could've been an anime that would've been on par with The Walking Dead franchise.
You cant say the Anime ended the author just died before being able to continue but There is enough material to make a second season one of the author's friends that worked on the anime aswell said that there is the possibility to continue it but they whouldnt be able to make it the same as the author intended and they whould also need fundings to do so one day there will be a second season asoon as someone aknowledges the anime's Potential

Why is a theme this good in such a mediocre show?
So this authors work is Echii with very dedicated world building, delicate crafting of scenes and atmosphere with maddening attention to detail. Then ignoring the Echii elements characters are rather well done for anime standards staying consistant in their characterization and lines.
Were this author to produce a work with this same level of dedication except without the Echii to distract it would probably come out as many folks idea of a master piece grim themed anime.
The only thing that is mediocre here is your taste in anime.
