    Thanks for your review. Been using Nux Cerberus for a few months with several amps and direct to board. Your review is the most accurate and honest that I have seen. Your comments are exactly what I would say. The unit sounds just like your video shows. Owned lots of nice gear over the years. For the money, this unit is hard to beat. Some nice dual overdrive pedals cost this much. The analog section sounds great. So does the reverb and delay. Will it make me sell my other pedals? No. But, it is a nice useful addition to the pedal collection. It can function as an emergency, backup amp if needed.

      Thanks for the nice comment! I am exactly at the same spot hahah I actually wanted an IR loader and also a Bluesbreaker-style drive and was looking at the JHS Morning Glory and the Wampler Pantheon. I figured the Cerberus would give me both and way more for the price of any of these two individual drive pedals. It probably does not sound as good as those, but it definitely gets the job done and as a grab'n'go no-frills pedalboard it's simply amazing!

      @@TheBedroomRocker1 Speaking of Bluesbreaker-style pedals, I also have the Nux Morning Star overdrive. It sounds very much the same. I have it on a mini pedalboard going into a DSL20 head. Brings single coils up nicely.

      Does Cerberus save the parameters of the effects in presets?
      What about analog effects? By the way, are there any real analog effects in Cerberus?

    The drives on my Cerberus didn't sound like that, especially the overdrive. Way darker. Maybe it's the pickups in my guitars but at least one of my guitars has pretty bright pups, Schecter Diamond Series as well as my Duncans and Gretsch Broadtrons.
    All sounded dark through the NUX, both into my Fender Bassbreaker 15 combo and direct to mixer>FRFR powered PA speakers using IR and a preamp pedal in the Cerberus' loop.

    • @TheBedroomRocker1
      @TheBedroomRocker1  3 года назад

      Yes, the drives are kind of dark. I usually run the tone controls up and use trebble in my amp to brighten it up. The Bassbreaker is also relatively dark from the one time I've tested it. May have to try different combinations there to get a bit more presence and definition going

    Great review thank you. I would be interested to hear you compare the tones of the effects hitting the front of the amp compared to using a four cable EFX loop set up with some commentary on when you would choose one set up over the other.

    • @TheBedroomRocker1
      @TheBedroomRocker1  3 года назад +4

      Thanks for the nice comment! I'm making a more detailed review of the Cerberus later on and I'll make sure to include that comparison. In general, you need to use the 4 cable method whenever you set your amp dirty / with gain. When delays and reverbs hit the front of a dirty amp, the sound tends to get very messy. The effects loop allows you to put delays and reverbs after the gain stage of your amp, so the sound is more clear and defined as it should be. If you set your amp clean and only use pedals for overdrive and distortion, then it doesn't make that much difference... Rule of thumb is simply to always place delays and reverbs after overdrive and distortion whether you get your overdrive and distortion from pedals or amps

  • @craigpons7153

    Hi great demo , I'm considering purchasing this multi effects pedal ,my only concern is will it affect the clean tone of my amp ,I'm using a vht d50 which is a type of dumble clone and using that with a 10 band eq I'm getting a brilliant fender ish clean tone and I don't want to ruin that with a pedal that'll introduce gain because of its preamp

    • @TheBedroomRocker1
      @TheBedroomRocker1  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the comment! I don't think the Cerberus will ruin your clean tone. I don't notice any signal degradation or additional noise when having the Cerberus in by-pass mode. Best luck chasing those clean tones!

    • @TheBedroomRocker1

      Thanks for the nice comment! They are just some riffs I came up with, not from any specific song... I avoid using real songs because RUclips has strict copyright policy and bans or demonetizes videos with third-party songs.

    Hi great video review, I just got this today. Have you tried the boost from the CTRL switch set the boost to zero but engage the distortion at 20 tone to taste and volume. When I engage the boost into the dist its the best tone together then I set the overdrive to 20 and use this as a solo boost, drive going into distortion 👍🏼 try it out for yourself.

    Very nice review. I have the same unit and I am trying to understand it a bit more, your review helps out. How do you think it would pair with a blues junior IV? By the way, your Victory V40 is awesome!!!

    • @TheBedroomRocker1
      @TheBedroomRocker1  3 года назад +1

      Thanks! That's great to know! I'm still planning to dig deeper into other functions and make more videos! I think the Cerberus and a Blues Junior is a great simple and light gigging set-up. Gotta be a bit careful with the bottom end on the drive and distortion of the Cerberus since the Blues Junior tends to flub a bit. Otherwise it should be a great and versatile rig!

      @@TheBedroomRocker1 ok, I will let you know, as I’ve ordered my Blues Junior today. On another topic, I own a Blackstar HT studio 20w head. Are you familiar with this type of amp? What type of cabinet would be good to pair it with?

    • @TheBedroomRocker1
      @TheBedroomRocker1  3 года назад +1

      @@salvatorevitale9165 I have tried a Blackstar HT Studio in a shop once and it was nice. The cabinet and speaker depends a lot on the style of music you play and personal taste. Usually the Blackstar cabinets are a good starting point as they were designed to go with the head. They have their own speakers, so I cannot comment on them, but they are going to look nice with your amp and they are reasonably priced. The vertical 212 looks amazing if you play on crowded stages but want a big sound!
      If you want an incredible bang for the buck, try the Harley Benton Vintage cabs. They are loaded with Celestion Vintage 30 and basically cost as much as the standalone speakers. They are a no brainer, but you can only get them from Thomann (Germany) so, depending on where you are, shipping may get costly. Orange makes excellent more expensive cabs. Marshall has a nice lightweight open-back 212 (JVMC212) with mismatched Celestion G12H-30 and G12 Vintage 30 that could be great for classic rock sounds. Finally, there's Zilla Cabs in the UK that can make you a customized cab for about the same money as these big brand options. I added some links below:
