I’ve had my P365XL for about 2 months now. Shoots great right out of the box. No malfunctions using different grains and manufacturers. I like the heavier grains (124, 147) for accuracy. I tried to like the Holosun 507K X2 that I bought, but went back to the XRay3 night sights. I have other larger Holosun reflex sights on other pistols and a rifle and like them. However the micro dots (for me) are difficult to acquire due to the size of the glass. I know it takes practice and muscle memory to get good sight alignment with the circle dot, but find it easier (for me) to use the iron sights. Just FYI, I’ve also added a True Precision stainless threaded barrel. I don’t think it’s any more accurate than the included Sig barrel.
I shot this at my local range and liked it quite a bit, but I'm unsure if it would be a good year-round EDC since I'm fairly small-ish (5'2" - 5'4" and 105 - 110 lbs) and the weather gets warm/hot as early as late March to mid-April in Texas and I hate wearing a bunch of layers in higher temperatures. I'm not sure if I should go with this or the P365/P365X (although I had trouble racking the slide on a regular new P365 9mm when I got a closer look at one that was for sale, so I'm considering the .380 version if I do decide to go down the P365 route, if the XL is indeed too big) or maybe the Ruger Max-9 or S&W Equalizer. I found a range not far from me that has both the 9mm and 380 365s as well as the Max-9, CSX, and Shield Plus (among others), so hopefully I'll be able to try some options out after the Christmas holiday.
I’d say it all comes down to how the drip sizes fit your hands. Whichever one fits your hands and conceals comfortably and easily for you is the one you should go with. It’s all about the grip and the thinness that does it for me with this option specifically
@@severshoots thank you for the reply. The XL felt great in my hand and I felt that I had really good control over it and could handle the recoil when I shot it, even though my shots were low to the left with both it and the Glock 19 (I enjoyed shooting both). My concern with the P365XL is more along the lines of concealability in relation to my body frame/type and methods of dress in warmer weather (usually leggings/capris and camis or larger tanks/T-shirts). When I inspected the original 9mm P365 at my local range (for sale, not a rental) I couldn't rack the slide (although that could have been because it was brand new), so I'm hoping to see if the .380 version would be a good option if the XL is too big to carry given my hand strength limitations.
Great video. I want to get a P365 for carry concealed. I can’t decide between the XL d the X. If I’m looking for carry conceal should I go smaller on the X? Or why do you like the XL more?
@@severshoots Thanks for the response. I was leaning towards the XL for the same reason. Will tbe XL shoot more accurately then the X and have a little more velocity because of the extra barrel length? I’m planning on conceal carrying so I was trying get something as compact/comfortable as possible. But you thing but XL is small enough and easy to conceal appendix carry?
@@Preppygurl886 yes. I’m 5 7 and 170 lbs. it conceals great. As for velocity, the difference is negligible when it comes to these barrel lengths. But the extra length will make it feel more balanced and help it conceal better
If you are gonna carry on your waistband, go with 365xl. If you are gonna pocket carry, get the 365x and put a reg. 365 grip module on it. 507k Holosun is a must.
I just got the hellcat RDP and I must say.. I like it better. 18 rounds in a micro with a comp, red dot, and night sights. Shoots like a dream and I can wear it while I dream.
Holosun also makes a green dot. What are your thoughts on a Holosun green dot vs Holosun red dot? In my professional world of laser surgery, The human eye picks up the green much quicker and easier in a bright or blood filled environment therefore green is superior.
I’d love to try green although I’ve never had issues with red. Sounds to me like there are some science backed advantages. I’m hunting down a 509t to try next and based on what you’ve said I may just have to give the green dot a whirl!
@@Mark-dq9js their only non solar panel model is the 507k that I have on this P365xl. But they make every single optic they have in a green dot version as well
I got the Wilson Combat grip module for my xl. already installed the tac dev gas pedal pro rail for the light. just waiting for the holster to be made from MckinaTec. What holster company do you use?
When I first started carrying and felt insecure I wanted a safety on everything. Now my opinion is the only thing that needs a safety is a 1911/2011 platform gun. The triggers on modern striker fired is enough of a safety to help me carry with peace of mind
I originally carried a p320 compact. However I didn't like the thickness while carrying and a couple other things. The xl came on my radar and I researched it a lot, shot it at my range, and decided it was for me. It is the pistol I shoot the best and is great to carry. I carry the 12 rounder in it and the 15 rounder with a neomag. I don't have any accessories yet. Not sure I want to have to get at the stuff to carry a light on it. I've never tried a red dot so I'm not sure.
The dot is worth it and super easy to install. And the light is a preference thing. I prefer to always have one and I prefer it to be on the gun 🤷🏻♂️ but to each is own
Which Holster do you use for this setup? Also do you side carry OWB or appendix IWB? (Im looking for an appendix iwb holster for this setup) if you happen to have any options that would be great. Thanks!
Mckinatec holsters should be your go to. You can use severshoots at checkout as a discount code and save 15% if you want. I’d go with the “talon” holster
What is the holster compatibility with the rail adapter? Do companies make an iwb holster for that exact setup with the light and rail adapter ? Looks like a cool setup, but I would need a holster with it. I was hoping you would talk about it.
I’ve talked about it in my 500 round review of the gun a bit more. Mckinatec is my go to for this setup. Lots of companies make holsters for this setup including him, and if you use severshoots at checkout it’ll save you 15% with him
Good question. From what I’m hearing I don’t think so. This is still thinner, conceals better and gives you a good amount of capacity. I say this only based off the opinions of friends who have one so far. I’ve been told it’s very subjective. Whether or not the macro is better for you is dependent on things like hand size and body type.
The lights discontinued. The inforce wild 1 has replaced it. Search that and you’ll find a plethora of places to by. As for the rail: tactical.dev/collections/p365xl-products/products/extended-tactical-application-rail-for-p365-xl
Save up for the holosun trust me I just compared them and I took the xl without the romeo and im getting the 507k this week just can't decide if I want red or green??? Decisions Decisions???
There is an optics-ready Shield Plus and the Equalizer 15-round magazine is a perfect fit. Streamlight TLR-6 with light and/or laser is available. There is parity to be had.
I believe they have to use the proprietary rail as the frame is too thin. All the skinny glocks don't have rails either. I will be waiting to see if i get a light. Mine has the romeo red dot and I'm loving life.
Shooting the gun sideways is just as dumb as not using a compensator for blowback reasons, just saying. I carry the P365 XL as well. I have Princess hands so it works great for me even with the 12 round mags. Thanks for the video, interesting points of views.
Hey thanks for the discount code much appreciated. I was curious though, did you have to buy anything extra as far as attachment adapters for the Inforce APLc? I’m using the TD application rail. Thank you in advance
Probably. It’s just so dang small. I like the XL because it’s small and thin, but can still fill your hand enough to give you a super confident grip. Not sure the G26 will do the same
@@severshoots I'm 5'7 and 140/145 lbs. 30 inch waist. Hopefully it could be a warm weather carry option. Think the P365XL could conceal with a kinda loose t-shirt? Or hoodie/thicker garment needed?

Consider dumping the overly long 15 round mag for a Magguts +2 kit in your 12 rounder. You loose a whole bunch of unneeded length at the expense of just 1 round.
@@severshoots I recommend getting 2--so your spare mag can be identical to your primary mag. My 15 rounder is, at best, now just a range toy. BTW-what's your EDC ammo? I've moved my P356X up to the 90 gr. and 68 gr. +P Underwood Xtreme Defenders. They provide consistent barrier blind penetration of between 17" to 18" from the P365--something not even the best HPs (like Gold Dots and HSTs) can accomplish, with an even larger permanent wound cavity. From your XL, it could be a tad over 18", but if that's a concern, move it to the standard pressure round instead of +P, which reduces penetration by about .75" to 1.2" (according to Underwood). Given the epidemic of obesity that's overtaken our country in the 3+ decades since the FBI came out with its standards (even with Covid making those so affected easy pickings), I'm inclined to believe that the FBI's 18" max penetration standard may be a bit out of date. And use of the 68 gr. XDs might mitigate much of the need for a comp, since the lighter projectile reduces muzzle flip.
@@richardefriend I have 115 grain sig v crowns. When it comes to ammo I’m not too picky. It’s something like 80% of 9mm gunshot wounds are survived. I’m not saying I’m shooting to wound or anything, I’m just not super into chasing a specific metric in a round. That’s just me though.
I figured that the standard p365 with magguts seemed to be the concealed carry king. 12rds in a 10rd mag and 14 in a 12. I understand the variety but the original with that modification just takes the crown 👑 for me. I also have the Wilson Combat grip module with tungsten weight kit installed as well
Love the setup bro, I am curious though. Which holsters are you running that are compatible with this setup? Appreciate the help. I know what I’m picking up next 😀

The Truth Most people not in the gun industry or "operator" types would buy & use the regular SIG P365 or the Glock 43 as they are easier to carry & convenient (without a red dot & light). Note: *_round count_* is irreverent pass 6 or 7 bullets as the average shots fired in all self-defense is 2 to 4 shots (FBI data). Happy Father's Day!
You’re not wrong, but you’re not right haha I would always rather have way more rounds just in case. I’d rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it 🤷🏻♂️ but these are just opinions 😂 happy Father’s Day to you!

@Frank Bonazza III Interesting comment. Questions then: 1. How many defensive gun encounters have you had? 2. How many shots did you fire? 3. How many 😳 attacker & How many shots did each attacker get to stop ✋ them? 4. How many bullets, how many guns, how big should the defensive gun(s) be, or how small should your gun(s) 🔫 be, _in order to be _*_"prepared"?_* 5. What does the SIG P365/P365XL have over the Glock 43/43X that's not even close? 🤔 Thanks ahead of time *Frank B* for your refeshing honest experienced answers unlike the common opinions of most RUclipsrs.

Good news, now you can get the P365X slide, so you have the P365 size, with the optic cut, to build out your PMM build.
Agree - changed to the P365XL as well. Appreciate your sharing.
What did you change to the p365xl!

You’re a good man
Nice setup bro.
I carry a ruger max-9 with the holosun 507k.
I love it
I shot this at my local range and liked it quite a bit, but I'm unsure if it would be a good year-round EDC since I'm fairly small-ish (5'2" - 5'4" and 105 - 110 lbs) and the weather gets warm/hot as early as late March to mid-April in Texas and I hate wearing a bunch of layers in higher temperatures.
I carry the P365 also and I love it...
Great video. I want to get a P365 for carry concealed. I can’t decide between the XL d the X. If I’m looking for carry conceal should I go smaller on the X? Or why do you like the XL more?
I like the extra barrel length. I think it makes it more balanced. The x and the normal 365 are too back heavy for me personally
Get a Wilson combat grip module if you can find, or hogue hand all. Too thin for me without.

Thanks for the review. I heard they changed the slide so the factory sight can now stay with a red dot.
That they did
I just got the hellcat RDP and I must say.. I like it better. 18 rounds in a micro with a comp, red dot, and night sights. Shoots like a dream and I can wear it while I dream.
Still a Springfield 😬 checked your morals at the door eh?
Holosun also makes a green dot. What are your thoughts on a Holosun green dot vs Holosun red dot? In my professional world of laser surgery, The human eye picks up the green much quicker and easier in a bright or blood filled environment therefore green is superior.
I’d love to try green although I’ve never had issues with red. Sounds to me like there are some science backed advantages. I’m hunting down a 509t to try next and based on what you’ve said I may just have to give the green dot a whirl!
@@severshoots Holosun has the HE507 green dot with solar panel. Not sure if they have one without the solar panel.

I do Mckinatec as well. Good choice!
Thoughts on going with safety or no safety. Never cared for safety but for IWB on sig, it has bee a thought for me.
When I first started carrying and felt insecure I wanted a safety on everything. Now my opinion is the only thing that needs a safety is a 1911/2011 platform gun. The triggers on modern striker fired is enough of a safety to help me carry with peace of mind
@@severshoots Thanks!
Excellent pistol. I'm thinking of buying one soon. thanks for sharing.
I prefer to always have one and I prefer it to be on the gun 🤷🏻♂️ but to each is own
I have both but prefer her naked.
Light up your threat before you "light up yo threat" lol.

Did the P365 X-Macro just make this obsolete?
Good question. From what I’m hearing I don’t think so. This is still thinner, conceals better and gives you a good amount of capacity. I say this only based off the opinions of friends who have one so far. I’ve been told it’s very subjective. Whether or not the macro is better for you is dependent on things like hand size and body type.
Is there link to the flashlight or adapter you were speaking about
The lights discontinued. The inforce wild 1 has replaced it. Search that and you’ll find a plethora of places to by. As for the rail: tactical.dev/collections/p365xl-products/products/extended-tactical-application-rail-for-p365-xl
I just bought the P365 XL with the Romeo red dot
Save up for the holosun trust me I just compared them and I took the xl without the romeo and im getting the 507k this week just can't decide if I want red or green???
Decisions Decisions???
You’d have to get a P365 X slide to optic mount your “dream” build, I haven’t seen a cut slide for the regular P365, or have it milled
That’s the plan 🙌🏻
I have the p365x and was wondering if the s&w shield plus might be good too. ? 🤔
He shield is way fatter, and holds way less. No light rail and no way to run an optic 🤷🏻♂️ so it’s about preferences
Get the icarus frame you won't regret it. I have 2 and it's a game changer

Does the G26 Conceal Easier/Print Less than the Sig P365XL in Appendix position?

@@Eddie70X7 I’d say they’re pretty even on “ease” but the XL wins on features
Times have sure changed since I was young. Guns to express your faith.
Hahaha..... wait.... what?? 😂
Consider dumping the overly long 15 round mag for a Magguts +2 kit in your 12 rounder. You loose a whole bunch of unneeded length at the expense of just 1 round.
Everyone is mentioning that. I just need to pull the trigger and grab some 😂
@@severshoots I recommend getting 2--so your spare mag can be identical to your primary mag.
I also have the Wilson Combat grip module with tungsten weight kit installed as well
I like the feel of the longer barrel on the xl and I like the full-size grip. Personal preference. Either way, 365 is the way to go 👍🏻
