I don't know if LEGO has done this in the past, but they might consider it disrespectful to make a plastic toy out of a (relatively) recently deceased real human person who isn't a character in-universe. Or maybe they asked his estate and got a no. It's a complicated subject, since while all the Spider-Man characters are owned by a company, Stan Lee of course isn't, since he's a real person and not a comic book character.
FYI: The Spider-Buggy capable of driving up walls actually WAS in the comics. I think it's another Easter Egg for long-time, and fanatic fans. Love this set!
The spider buggy is actually a reference to a spider-man comic where a company offers to sponsor spider-man with the spider buggy and money. It was something Peter would not usually do but he really needed the money due to his poor living situation.
@@TiagoCatarino Thanks for the reply! As a Lego designer yourself, how feasible would a working elevator have been in your view? Perhaps it would have upped the piece count too much...
the extra neat thing about the bird's nest is that it's the neck piece from Spiderman villain Kraven the Hunter, it's an easter egg I haven't heard anyone mention
Awesome set! Too big for me to display. I need those Dare Devil and Punisher minifigures! Great, quick review Tiago! BTW, the pistol looks like a musket/flintlock, not a revolver. Have a great day!
Who has time for half hour reviews?! I wanna make videos I would watch, focusing on the important details of a LEGO set! Thank you for the feedback! :)
Great review! I might be in the minority in that I love how many glass pieces it has. Makes it feel like the first true lego skyscraper and I hope LEGO does more!
The spider buggy actually is part of the comics. It was made for him after his web shooters were temporarily broken and needed to get around. It was short lived however since it was destroyed by one of Mysterio's illusions, causing Spiderman to crash and total it beyond repair. Which is funny since this set also has mysterio. So nice nod to the buggy's inevitable crash
Finally they are doing more marvel characters minifigures with their comic book costumes ! Starfire, Punisher, Daredevil, Black Cat ! I just need it right now !
Excellent review and Incredible set! Add in that you can incorporate into the modular buildings city...wonderful! It reminds me so much of the old Marvel comics pinups with cutaways of like the Fantastic Four's Baxter Building or Avengers Mansion, etc. showing all the rooms and details. LOVE IT! Must buy on my list.
Great Review, appreciate the timestamps, lighting and camera angles of the set that you managed to show, very professionally done👌 the set looks absolutely incredible
The red fire escape fits. I grew up in NYC and the tenement walkup apartment building that we lived in has red colored fire escapes. That alone would make me want to get this set aside from all the awesome mini figures.
Thank you thank you thank you for this review!!!! It is so much better than I thought!! The insane amount of figs, the height, the modularity, the details. WOW! Spiderman is my favorite super hero, I AM BUYING IT!! :)
Even though there was a repetition in the 2 by 3 windows, I felt it was kinda necessary as it gives a more realistic look and it makes it look a tad bit neater
Holy shit it has the photo of Spider-Man's face behind Peter's desk. Those guys at LEGO know when to embrace great humor like those old Spider-Man cartoon memes.
They could have given us a Stan Lee minifigure...and a Steve Ditko sticker tribute in there. Come on LEGO! A great set though. Black Panthers ear piece are also perfect for Daredevil turned around. It's genius and I wonder if always intended.
Wow very cool! So nice to see this on day one! Awesome review. I actually like the use of the old Train tracks from sets from the 80s for use as the iron work on the exterior of the building too!
Good times. This was actually the first way I saw this set after the leaked descriptions! I nearly lost my mind seeing this thumbnail all this time ago
This is really good. Despite some let downs and no leg prints on some things, stickers and more. For the price it's pretty good. I would definitely get it (If I can afford it) . Really nice references and I have great ideas for it. Animating in this would be really fun. I thought of some very funn things for it, like: The office but marvel parody, Clone epidemic could be star wars. Things like that would be great.
Soooooo cool! Must have this set. Just getting Punisher, Daredevil, Firestar, and Black Cat would be cool. I've been a spider-man fan since I was a kid, and I know all the obscure characters. I even read Spider-ham comics when I was little.
A great set, would love to add it to my collection. A few notes, that said, instead of the spider buggy they should have given him the spider cycle, which is far more used in the media than the spider buggy. They even used it in a lego movie. 2nd and lastly, I am surprised that they included Firestar in the set but not Iceman. Firestar and Icean where both partners a Spidy in the 1980s cartoon series Spiderman is Amazing Friends and would have been incredible reference to that wonderful, if not a little dated, cartoon series.
Love the 60's Spider-Man meme reference as well as something super minor, the cab license plate being AFA 015 (Amazing Fantasy #15 being the first appearance of Spider-Man)
I am 52 and treated myself to this Lego Marvel kit for Christmas 🎁 so i am actually very excited, i think the lighting kit really adds a lovely touch, thankyou for the excellent review.
I feel like this is one of the newer sets where Lego has actually put a lot of thought and effort into it. I will absolutely go and buy it when I get the money

I love The Daily Buggle!
I love that they included the Spider-Man’s Office meme 😂
THATS what it was!!! I completely missed it!!!! :O
I love the stickers putting them on
Ikkkkr 😂😂
Could you explain?
There should have been a Stan Lee character cameo in there…. Missed opportunity but such a great set! What a team of artists!
Probably because stan is such a rare figure :(
@@thegreenmushroom27 there isn’t an official Stan lee figure

stan lee has been through so much elder abuse, so I dont think lego wanted to profit off a figure of him

The spider buggy is actually a reference to a spider-man comic where a company offers to sponsor spider-man with the spider buggy and money. It was something Peter would not usually do but he really needed the money due to his poor living situation.
And then due to his conflict with Fisk it ends up at the bottom of the Hudson
Now this was the D2C we've been waiting for since 2012
Agreed! I love Marvel, but I don't feel like buying any of the sets! This one would be the exception if I didn't get it from LEGO!

I wish Ice-Man was included in the set
@Dusky Studios Wait where did you get that info from? Why couldn't they add him?
If I did cityscapes this would be a really good addition. That's a huge amount of mini figures. Great review!
Definitely! Thanks!
I want to do cityscapes JUST to get this and Justify why I have a random News Skyscraper.
I bet a lot of Lego reviewers envy you that you got this as a review set instead of the newest friends-wave^^

About the Spider-Buggy, it’s the point that it’s useless. In the comics, it’s played out as a joke. Great video !

Pretty sure that vampire was Morbius & the spider buggy can climb walls, has voice control, spider legs, & bags of web fluid.

Spider buggy is an icon and everyone knows and loves him
The Spider-Buggy is an old part of a classic Amazing Spider- Man comic from the 70ies . The car was made by a villain , called "The Tinkerer".
