A local shop quoted me $8000 to do head gaskets on my 2003 f250 because they would pull the motor to work on it. Jasper sells remans for 2600 and up... I decided to just do them myself. I just got my heads back and am now reassembling everything. It feels good knowing that everything is being done meticulously and no corner cutting. Thank you for the helpful videos to make this happen smoothly!
I have an 06 f150.. but just started to develop a head gasket leak... Just started the cylinder heads are very expensive... And also the repair cost I was told to use Blue devil sealant I tried it it actually works depending upon the size of leak.. so far so good if you change your head gasket change the head bolts also... Good luck

Another way to keep from having to disturb and possibly ruin the seal on your power. Steering pump is to actually just rotate the pulley to where the spokes allow you to have access to the front two mounting bolts, and then you take the rear 29 bolts out from behind. That way you can actually leave the power steering pump and pulley off to the side out-of-the-way of the front cover. When you remove the air conditioning compressor. It should be 3 to 4 bolts, and you can lay that down out-of-the-way as well no removing of the pulley necessary.
Nice to see someone else hosting these videos - especially a cutie like Christian. I was also wondering, while you have half the engine apart to replace the gasket; maybe it would be good time (if it needs it) to replace the water pump, tensioners, pulleys, etc. Since you are there. Thoughts?
I been having head gasket leaks for 10yrs. now ! All I been doing is buying a bottle of head gasket sealer from Walmart for a few bucks, and it works for a few yrs (or less), and now I have low coolant levels again now have to buy again at walmart, and hope good luck again!?
Christian, can u have a head gasket failure without those 4 symptoms u mentioned? My E350 developed a burnt oil smell I would notice when I got out of the vehicle. I noticed that oil seemed to be seeping from the passenger side between the block and the head gasket. The only symptom is the slight oil leak which drips on the exhaust causing a burnt smell. The coolant system and driveability is fine.
How can you tell if it’s a head gasket or faulty intake manifold? No milk shake or over heating but coolant slowly disappears but no crazy smoke. Sometimes faint coolant smell when you first start then disappears quickly.
I have almost 230K miles on my 03' F150.....trying to decide between replacing the head gasket, timing job, etc and just replacing it with a remanufactured long block. Does it take longer to replace an engine vs replacing the head gasket, doing a timing job, etc?
I have never heard of anyone having head gasket issues with these motors, 2 valve or 3 valve. I only ever hear of spark plugs popping out in the 2 valves, which can be permanently fixed, and then issues with the rockers arms wearing out and VCT issues with the 3 valve.
I love your videos, I just wish some mechanics out all bolts & screws my creepy feeling about shop is finding a ton of screws washers, nuts etc on the floor ughhhh!! So thank you for making things seem effortless😍 I got a Ford Ranger and if you ever want to work on one you are welcome to work on minesssses hehehe
Hey hows it going. I suspect I possibly have a blown headgasket. Last week I got a check engine light for cylinder #1 misfiring. I replaced the spark plug and have new coils. Didn't go away, checked it again and I saw dirty coolant water dried on the new spark plug. No milkshake oil when I switched my oil and my new oil looks brand new still after a week. I've been checking it everyday. Check engine light went away and no more misfire. Oil still looks great and is still full. No overheating, great coolant temp at 190-200. Only got white smoke 2 times after a cold start and it's been cold lately so I believe it was moisture. I checked my coolant level today and saw I was a bit low but still no white smoke or milkshake oil or overheating. Could it be the intake manifold?
I have a suggestion…don’t buy a Ford! You did a great job with your video! Thanks for going through all hassles of doing this to present a nice clean understandable video of what’s involved with a blown head gasket!
My 2012 durango is acting funny. I replaced the starter. Replaced the compressor. Need to replace the condenser also when I get money. But the issue is that after replacing the starter the car is now not wanting to crank. It takes a few times before the car would turn over. It usually has one click now evryrime I turn the key or push the push start button and then it will crank up after a few attempts. Wondering if it could be fuel pump or fuel filter or could it be a faulty starter? Asking.
+Christian Morriswilliams We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c

Cylinder head torque procedure compliance is KEY!

This was mesmerizing. I got half way through the video when I remembered I was looking for a Toyota 4Runner video
That looks exactly like my 03 Lariat, same color too. I love those headlights...😮
Neither of my 5.4’s , my 2010 3v or my 2002 2v ever had any issues with head gaskets, nor have I ever heard of other people having issues with them.
The longer video (like 2 hours or so) about this same job from these guys is extremely informative. I watched it last week.

This needs more views! Great job on the video Cristian! We need more videos from you.
I strongly agree with this comment!
Quick tip if you have oil going into the coolant system it can be the gasket for the oil filter adapter
WOW...that was deep.....
Awesome tips! Im sure tons of people will be grateful for finally having such a thorough video addressing these issues.

Would be nice to see head gasket replacement on a 2000 Chevy Venture van with a 3.4 L Engine. Us backyard mechanics appreciate your videos.
Great video! there’s noooo way I’m going to be doing this job on my own. 😅

the water pump looked brand new in the video, so I think he just didn't mention it.

Better off just getting a new engine at this point. Probably less expensive as this job looks very labor intensive.
I think he means intake gasket
How much does this cost?
When u see that milk shake, sell it ASAP
They seem to always get new workers
u did not turned it on, what a waste... ;p
