- Shifter Kart Race crashes are not something I like to highlight but when you land on your feet after getting flipped out of you kart it is just too awesome not to share.
this shifter kart race and crash is from SKUSA round 2 of the 2018 pro kart challenge at the streets of willow track. luckily I survived the shifter kart crash my kart on the other hand not so much.

It's really good to see you stepping up to the next level. Your fear of close drafting has way diminished, and much improved your passing chances. You got taken out by someone who completely botched a pass, as far as I can tell. It sucks, that's racing, etc... Hoping bruises only and no broken bones, do followup on any costs, medical/kart that ensued. Love your channel. Former *1991-92* Nationale Deux (France) licence holder.

Excellent. Oh to be young again ;-).. Used to race 944's for several years, looking at 250 superkarts (much less expensive to operate than the 944) just to to lap my favorite courses (Summit Point, etc., VIR if they have events for that..) 10% faster. Not looking at competition, excepting as polite backmarker, being late 60's sorta sucks, sorta awesome. Race on, dude.

I like that your fear of drafting is gone but when your drafting them, overtake them and late brake and early gas. Turn more too.

@@True_Racer When the 14 year old armchair RUclips racers studied your technique and cross referenced it to what Jeff Gordon says while doing color commentating. They decided you have a fear of drafting and need to work on some things.
Oh my goodness. I think my first one of those would be my last one. I'd just walk off and leave the kart where it landed, "nope, uh uh, not doing this anymore, it's sim racing and that's it from now on..."
Glad you're ok. That sucked. Hopefully the kart is ok. Definitely need to get that gearbox rebuilt to end this problem of it popping out of gear.

First rule in motorsports I was told - when you slide on a track, both feet in (or left foot / hand clutch here) to lock the wheels so you are predictable to other racers... If he hadn't of rolled backwards you would have been fine. Dang it!

Was worried when I saw flip in the title and having seen your videos in the past knowing that you aren't usually wearing a neck brace. Glad you are alright.
Sorry your kart didn't fare so well, looking forward to the damage assessment and rebuild. I have been there with a flipped kart and frame is the biggest worry, but mine turned out OK and I hope you find the same when you assess your damage.

Looks like the guy who spun was making a few desperate moves before that in the rear view and didn't seem to back off any to avoid you when it slipped a neutral.

I got the impression they were doing to “hey bump me faster down the straight” thing and then going into the one slower zigzaggy bit, he popped out of gear at the worst possible time. Just shitty luck.
Can always rely on true racer for some top racing footage - love the videos man, can’t wait to get out on my kart

Damn! I bet racing on this track is a pure adrenaline rush. And again - a technical issue is causing big trouble! You have to get rid of that gearbox. Anyways -Next time try to hold on to your steering wheel very firmly for a full barrel roll without leaving the kart! Btw - i´m interessted in a list of parts needed to be replaced after such an incident!
+MoepMoep-Movies I actually don't think holding firmly onto the steering wheel is a good idea. I'm thinking being fluid would be your better bet. Then again I am no kart flipping expert but I have fallen off of my skateboard a lot for what its worth
