I have that same PWK on my drag bike setup for methanol albeit a 32mm. One thing to remember on the jetting for those is, you also have a powerjet delivering more fuel on top of the main at wide open throttle. Main jet sizes will always need to be a touch smaller than what you'd use on a similarly sized carb.
The amazing PWK carb...the best of both worlds. In general: Round slide carbs tend to be easiest to tune and the round shape of the slide helps them transition smoothly from idle to mid range to WOT. Flat Slides can offer incredible throttle response and are hard to beat in the mid and upper revs. In the lower revs it can be a challenge to get and maintain a good fuel air flow and mix. They can test your patience with tuning. Between the two is the other "flat slide"; the D slide. It has the lovely low end smoothness of the round slide combined with most of the characteristics of the Flat Slide at higher revs.
Black 66, sweet video! Funny i just got my pwk 28 and 30mm carbs on wensday to test out and compare as well! It will be interesting once all the carbs are jetted properly to see what the differences really are…
I believe street bikes are the best thrill ride/ danger. Until I keep watching YOU bang out 70mph on a mini bike with a set of disk brakes for a tike-bike. You are mad crazy. I will gladly say you minis’ are impeccably clean when the camera starts rolling Everytime.
I thought the cheetah clutch was slipping more than it should've been almost like it's not fully engaged until 4k rpm...I've been modifying the max torque and working ok. Love that bike though!!
I have a 212r mkii from EC that I ran stock and built as well. Any questions ask away. I just finished building a 225 tillotson high compression billet everything max effort engine yesterday to replace my 212R because I got the itch to go bigger and faster lol. The 212R is in my opinion the best out the box 212 money can buy. But nowadays so many 224, 223, 225 options, if your handy mechanically I’d go right to the tillotson 225 and save the time
I see what you mean with the jetting. I just got a 24mm nibbi for my Coleman ct200u, and it has flat spots when you get on it. Hopefully a bigger jet will fix that.
How do you calculate the right gearing for the project bike you're working on I heard you once talking about someone that makes whatever gear ratio you want. But how do you figure tire size into gear ratios and all of that thanks great content like always
He was talking about volts mini bikes, they will make whatever tooth sprocket you want. It was his “75 mph with one mod” video where he tries out the 40 chain with a 4.0 gear ratio!!
When I first got into this little hobby all I read was people were buying to big a carb for these engines. From the results of two videos from 2 different people this weekend that's not holding true. I believe I need to up mine to at least at 24mm. Thanks for the video. What hydraulic setup you running?
Depending on the build I'd say. They'd be horrible going against a genuine on a two stroke, very difficult to tune! 😳 That's why alot of people blow up their two strokes, they cheap out on the carburetor and jets and can't tune it perfectly. I have no issue with generic pwk carbs on 2T engines but I only use genuine jets and I know how to tune a carb pretty well.
that Carb looks like its made for a good ole HoT Tilly!!!! Lets Give iT Up for mR Black66 Gettin out there wit the trains n shyt keepin the DREAM ALiVE man WHAT ELSE is There To say you know Ken Block is smiling down
I say it's all about having fun. It doesn't matter if you ride a 1.7-horse micro bike or a 35-horse Alcohol burning rocket ship. It's all about having fun with this stuff. The day we stop having fun with it is the day we should do something else. IMO
Hey so I had a thought. I want to make a street build so I want to gear the bike high to hit in the 60's somewhere, so to get that covered I will be putting a 420 predator on (I want to keep the engine stock and cruise at low rpms). The problem with gearing it high is that lack of torque on take off and the risk of burning the clutch. I've been brainstorming about gearing and different ways of achieving what I want. And the best way I can think of is putting an electric bike hub motor in place of my front tire to assist with take off and acceleration. Do you think you could test something like that?
i have the exact same 28mm carb on my tillotson 212 with hot 265cam and 3 stage exhaust and if i roll throttle slowly works fine and even gets 67 mph top speed but i cant drag race at all because if i snap throttle it cuts out completely and shuts off sometimes it cuts out and if it bike doesnt shut off the rpms drop below idle . ive tried pilot jets all the way from 32-42 pilot with 120 main and needle is mid position and ive tried messing with the air screw and nothing and it doesnt happen with my 22 mikuni or 24mm nibbi only with pwk 28mm any help would be appreciated im about to go crazy. thanks learned alot from you
Have you changed the needle? Sometimes It will cut out on quick throttle if its lean. If you lower the clip on the needle down one or two so it pulls the needle up a little more maybe it will help.
No problems with the catch can mount. The links for the parts used are in the description of this video. Check out the MM80 playlist for the build videos. ruclips.net/video/m7DU8U9bwuk/видео.html
i have a stage 2 bike wt a hot 265 cam n flat top piston currently im runing a 22m carb and it wont idle and boogs tf out what carb u think i should run or ist it the jets i have no clue pls help
24MM flat slide works awesome on the 212 . www.gopowersports.com/24mm-flatslide-mikuni-carburetor-kit/ PWK, NIBBI also work well. I guess it boils down to personal preference. If you use a Nibbi you can get it in flange style so you can use the intake off of the VM22 to save money.
I think that gearing might be too much. I’d put a bigger rear sprocket and settle with mid 60s top speed but 4.40 0-30? That doodlebug with a max torque and not nearly as modified engine was pulling those numbers
Recently got a 30mm pwk carb for my 224. Was told by the internet to jet it down and is currently running a 38 pilot and a 115 main. I live at 500ft above sea level and was wondering if I should go back to stock? (35 pilot 125 main) Edit: I’m running it long intake, with a velocity stack, and a stage 2 pipe w/ RLV muffler.
I'm up here at 3700 feet I'm running a 115 main in a lot of stuff. Maybe down lower for you, a bigger main would be better. You can always check the plug for that nice brown color after riding for a while
Excellent review! very nice bike.
Thanks! 👍
Can't wait for the bigger jet comparison!
I love the carburetor tests! There’s so many options available now!

Can you adjust this power jet ? I just bought one also 26mm
@@lp_rc523 Yes, it has a valve on top. Can also bypass it and just block it off if so desired.
@@WyFoster yeah I seen the power jet adjuster with spring on top I will take it apart and seen what jet is in there
@lp_rc523 there is no just just a tube that sucks extra gas outta the bowl..they are awesome for meth applications.

Loving these comparisons. The little adjustments and the effects they have. Stats on your builds are interesting.

I use that exact same pwk28 on my zs190 Grom clone … it’s been amazing. Only complaint is lack of a bowl drain.

You should test your bike where people can see you just in case if you get injured or paralyzed they can help you… just on the safe side
That 28pwk is awesome.

Needle position if it's bogging with quick throttle inputs. Need about a 120-130 main at and around sea level.
I would think, but do a plug reading. Thanks for the vids

I run the 28mm ;D slide on my stock 224cc with a pipe and it boogies!
To get any benefits from a carb that big on a small engine you’ll have to port the head & install bigger valves, Too big is usually bad
28mm is the optimal size for 200cc+-
You can of course run smaller to for perhaps some better low end
Great video as always, what speed app do you use
Thanks! I use digiHUD on the phone along with the camera GPS for top speed and a Dragy performance meter for 0 to 30

A little bird told me that a clone mikuni has bigger venturi than a real Mikki. Resulting in mo' ho' po'. My source sounds like "Redbirds massage" ;)
Vm22 knock off is actually 26mm. The genuine is 22, so the bird is correct. Lol.
