Good evening brother. I raise pigs myself. We followed your videos and made the oven. I fed over 60 people today with lots of leftovers. This has been such an inspiration. I want to let you know that I am extremely grateful for teaching me.
Like the build and cook. Dad made a little BBQ pit in a small hill side when we were kids that thing worked great! It wasn't anything fancy and not big enough to cook a whole animal but worked really well. There's something about radiant heat and the earth as an insulator that just works. I don't fully understand it but the simplest things seam to work the best.
nice job guys, just a technical note that aluminum foil is a heat conductor, not an insulator. in fact, it is one of the best heat (and electrical) conductors that exists on earth.
I’m from south east Virginia the same as eastern NC. No preburn of wood, just charcoal? I guess that’s why you spent so much time injecting it. And foil foil foil everywhere. At least you didn’t wrap it in foil. I’m not sure if I’d cook my pig this way.
My other thing is I understand you’re trying to do fire control but if you’re putting your calls and each corner of the pit, there’s nothing directly under the pig, so why can’t you let that drip in the grass but even if there was calls under there wouldn’t it be better that the juice goes into the Kohl’s and creates that extra flavour as it hits there and burns up Because I’ve never had a fire I’ve done it both ways the same way you’re doing it with the corner calls but I use wood not charcoal and I’ve even done it where the whole entire pit on there like they do in South Carolina where the entire pit has Kohl’s underneath it there’s a thin layerand I’ve always let the juice drop on. It never had a fire.
Of course their hungry. You've held them visually captive 8 hrs, and of course, it's going to taste phenomenal its your friends that are tasting the HOG
Not only was galvanized tin used to cover the hog, it looks like that grate is galvanized fence panel. Wtf were y'all thinking? This three part vid is how NOT to smoke a hog. If I showed up to this pig picking, saw that grate and tin, I'd turn around and leave. YOU CANNOT COOK WITH GALVANIZED METAL! The fact that a charcoal company doesn't know that makes me question the quality of your product. I'd take this series of vids down and try again with a properly made pit, expanded metal and a couple of refrigerator boxes ..
So because you 'apparently' already know how to smoke a whole hog its a bad video? Why are you watching a whole hog tutorial if you already know everything? Weird energy.

I would have had her pulling the pork...you know just for an added comedic kick.
Dam. Thank Sir for all 3 videos. Big help.
Great video! I followed this video and it turned out wonderful!
I see what you did there saving all the skin for yourself 😂

That blonde really in lighted me !! 😅😅😅😅😅
Yeah...kind of....🤣
What kind of blanket is that?
How much charcoal did it take?
Awesome job!!!
Great video. Do you just have the charcoal at the two ends or is it also in the middle?
All four corners.
Now I'm hungry.

I don't care for those who shed tears for hogs. They are meat animals. Use them that way and enjoy with seasoning.
An Oklahoma Joe's smoker costs 350 USD, it's ready to go and you can move it around when it rains ... just sayin'.
you aint getting a whole hog onto an oklahoma joe dude.

Nobody? Ate the skin? Crazy

Ya that’s what I was thinking I’m like 🤔 what the ?
Your camera man does very poorly.
11:39 "but you can see right there..." See what? I don't see anything,
The fact that you took the time and energy to write this comment is impressive....
I learned absolutely nothing new. It's just a bunch of HOG wash
The lady that said it
was absolutely phenomenal, is probably his sister.

What an a$$hole...
