NOW I NEED A SROLL SAW! wish I had seen this video yesterday, black friday, I bought all the tools I had seen in all your other videos! I never saw you use this saw! I would have bought that too! What an amazing ideas you have. I am going to use all my new equipment TODAY for the first time. You inspire me, and many other people to come out of our comfort zone and try things we thought we could not do, thanks so much!
I used to make country crafts when they were in style back in the 90’s and early 2000’s. I’ve sold off my big table saws and routers but for some reason I kept my scroll saw. I’m older now and I have a bad back so I can’t lift big pieces of wood so I no longer can make tables and other big furniture. Since country styling was no longer in style I didn’t think I’d be using them anymore. Now that I found you and see this idea and knowing you have more ideas to come I’m hoping I’ll be able to rekindle my love for scroll saw projects. Thank you! You have no idea what this means to me. Looking forward to your next posts. Sincerely Susan 💝🥰
I’ve made a couple lazy Susan’s. And I’ve cut out a few outlines for signs but I haven’t painted them yet. I’m looking forward to your next posts. Do you know when that will be? 💝🥰
Love Love Love! I was taking woodshop classes in Minnesota, and moved to Georgia three-years ago. I want to do fun things like this and sell them reasonably. You inspire me!
There is no denying you are talented! It is evident in this video why you thought of becoming a teacher. I agree with your change in direction, it would have put you in a box. You have way too much to share with the world! Your creativity inspires so many others. For that I thank you! Keep the videos coming.
Started watching your channel a couple weeks ago. I am a senior citizen and new to this whole RUclips. I just want to tell you that you are such a gifted young woman. I enjoy watching you make things. Keep up the great work, I believe for you that the sky will be the limit with your business.
The scroll saw over all is one of the safest tools in the shop . As you progress over ,most scrollers remove the guard .. no lost fingers a good nic maybe . Great vids , keep the saw dust flying .
I got a used one at a garage sale. The first time I used it I was surprised at how much it is like using a sewing machine. The blade goes up and down like the needle on a sewing machine, it has a "presser foot" to put the wood under. The big difference is that there is no automatic feed for the wood like the sewing machine has for fabric. Very easy to use and very safe.
I have been scroll sawing for about 8 years now, but I wish You had posted that video then. Very useful tips for a beginner, I wish you all the best for the future. As you say scroll sawing is a lot of fun and as you become more experienced the more intricate your projects will become, then not only fun but a great deal of satisfaction.
I have been selling my wood signs for awhile now, and I've been wanting to use my dad's scroll saw that I inherited. Thank you for demonstrating how to use and inspiring me to dig my scroll saw out of the back of my garage. I can't wait to use it now! I told my husband I want to be you when I grow up-haha! Seriously I'm pretty much in awe of your creative abilities!!
From you first diy I loved what you did with the headboard making it a coat rack even though the dish washer rack was my first like. Nothing is impossible and you truly are the definition of seeing beauty from someone else's junk.
Thank you so much for the tutorial. I love my scroll saw. It's about 20 yrs old but I am used to it so it works for me. I've always said, if you can sew you can scroll. That was after many broken blades 😕 You do get to where you can tell by the sounds of your blade is getting weak. Sometimes the tension is off or you're going too fast. Once you get the hang of it, you'll be making all kinds of fun projects. The cactus one is my favorite. Awesome video! Kim 💓
Hi Elysia, new subscriber here, I paint my beads using zip lock bag with spoonful of chalk paint. I put all beads I need painted in the bag and add the paint, then zip the bag and smoosh the beads untill they are all covered in paint. Take them out and put on old newspaper to dry. This way they get the chippy, old, look without me having to paint each individual and then sand to make them chipped 😊
Oh my gosh, I wish you would upload videos every day, I'm loving you're channel, I get so excited when you post a new video. Keep them coming Elysia, there fantastic, so inspirational, I've ordered a scroll saw now lol. Much love from the UK xx
Aww how cute are these little beauties, I’m not surprised they were popular! I love all these designs you come up with. I’m definitely investing in a scroll saw, and my husband has just bought me a cameo silhouette for my birthday last week, I can’t wait to get started on my little project again, and that’s thanks to you, you’ve given me the confidence I was lacking back. Thank you Amanda. Uk 🇬🇧 Congratulations on reaching over 41 subscribers, it’s well deserved.
Works in progress. Would you mind considering doing a video on this topic. I noticed when I was creating some fall projects I had to put items in different areas of my home. You did touch on this when you where preparing for a craft show. But could you go a little bit more into detail. Such as: how many projects do you work on at one time, do you cut or paint everything first, do you have designated areas for multiple items you are waiting on paint to dry, etc. I have binged watch all your videos and have found through them that you're an amazing, open, and honest person, who truly wants to help others succeed. Thank you for that. And most of all, your work is amazingly beautiful. In addition, I want you to know that I am going to duplicate your wedding sign for my own daughter's wedding in a month. That is a great idea and I know she will not only love it but treasure it as well. Again, thank you for considering my suggestion. 👌❣😁
O M G Elysia, just found you from a facebook ad. Love your videos. Used to do wood pieces years ago. You have brought it back to life for me. You are my new favorite video channel!!! A BIG thank-you!
Great vid as always !!! It's fun watching you work that scroll saw I think those types of vids are great there r women out there who may not have anyone to show them how to use tools you should do vids that show from turning on the machine to turning off and all in between you could give them the confidence that they need to start something they've always wanted to do. God bless.
I got mine at an estate sale for $30. Check Craigslist and garage sales too. If your area has people using the Nextdoor app ask if anyone has an old one they want to give away or sell.
Thank you for this great tutorial! May I ask: - what size sandpaper did you use? - what type of wood did you use? - did you apply anything to the wood before painting it (like primer)? Thank you so much! Your creations are gorgeous and so creative!
Hi Elysia, I love your stuff. Have you ever considered showing us some small Mosaic projects, I'd love to see what you would do because your style is so great and so unique. Grout is super cheap and I hope I will get to see you work in this medium, lots of love!
I love it. I’m looking to buy tools but I’ve never used any and somewhat intimidated by using them. Most of my crafts have been tool free. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks so much for this! My grandfather used to make intricate pictures with his scroll saw and I have all his old pattern books. I can’t wait to learn more about using one!
First time I have watched your videos. Love, Love, Love your videos. I have watched three so far and am so impressed by what you make out of trash. I dumpster dive sometimes and am kidded by my family, but I love it and have come across a lot of neat objects. Thank you!
The scroll saw is intimidating for me, but now that I see you making it look so easy I will give it a try! I've been wanting to use ours for quite some time now.

My neighbor gave me his old scroll saw! I've been afraid to use it, so your tutorial came at the perfect time! Wish me luck!
