What a brilliant tip - using the background colour first. I've only stencilled once before and because of the amount of bleeding I got, I swore never to stencil again. Watching this video has made me decide to give it another go. Thank you. :)

Can I just say that watching this (I love your channel by the way) all the way from Australia gave me the knowledge I needed tonight to keep going. I was about to give up trying to create these types of awesome signs as my new little business venture because of the bleeding under the Mylar reusable stencils. But I re-watched your technique in this video and tried again and guess what, it turned out perfect. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for your guidance, knowledge and your decision to share your wonderful techniques. I love your videos, thank you. Xx

  • @sandrajeffrey944

Is this the SAME method I would use if my stencil is a REUSABLE one? Not sure if this is a silly question but I am going to be stenciling for the first time ever and have no prior experience to work with. My project is Christmas Porch Signs. Second question: what if you're STAINING the wood rather than PAINTING it? Do you have a tutorial to avoid bleeding on stained rather than PAINTED wood? Thanks kindly for any advice you can give me. Newbie here, although you've probably figured that out! LOL Nice work BTW!!! SOOOO glad to hear you are living your dream. I'm trying to accomplish that same vision but I'm MUCH older than you. Oh well... better late than NEVER! Sending best wishes to you on your journey from Abbotsford, BC.
