Ryan George is awesome! Yes, the did NOT have a lot to tell because there was no theme. There's no key message or Point the show is trying to make. ANDOR has a very clear Theme: "What does it take to become a Rebel?" The Star Wars trilogies 1to6 have the Theme and variations on it of "What is the proper way of living, in harmony with the galaxy or through power and tyranny?" What's The Açolyte's Theme? "Men are stupid and Bad is Good?"
About the "thirst trap" controversy. I am OK with media sexualising men as long as they don't attack other media for sexualising women. I just hate hypocrisy. Either it's OK to sexualise actors for views, or it isn't. We did it plenty in the 80s with actors like Arnold Schwarzenegger, I thought it was fine then, and we also sexualised female actors. But at some point, people started pushing back on sexualising females but not males.
Exactly!! There's no reason a nice buff dude can't be shown off onscreen, but these same companies will villify anyone who remarks on a woman who looks good while showing some skin. Same thing with the gaming industry constantly trying to censor or get rid of revealing outfits for girl characters, but they say nothing when guy characters are shirtless. It's like whyyyyy? We're human, it's okay for us to want to see attractive people haha
Exactly, these people cried misogyny for decades because Leia was in a bikini... now that they get to make their Star Wars content, they put scenes with male actors naked... It's so hypocritical. When these people are given the opportunity, they do the exact same shit they were complaining about for years but worse (I say it's worse because even though I'm not a SW fangirl, I can't remember a single main SW show where a woman was actually without clothes at all).
As a gay Asian American, I'm not sure if this is the kind of representation I really want on screen from Disney and Star Wars. Portraying us Asian men as either de-sexualized monks or sex objects with cool martial arts abilities but two-faced manipulative personalities is just more of the same crap that Hollywood has been giving us for decades, just wrapped in a shinier, partially naked, gym-fit bow. I wish they could focus on presenting us with characters who have compelling and enjoyable personalities and moments rather than guys who fulfill a certain aesthetic of attractiveness.
@@schildkroete As an Irish-Scottish person, I'm not a big fan of my cultures being religated to just drinking and fighting in media, but I'm okay with both men and women from my culture being sexulised as long as everything is equal. Sidius being right under their noses and operating with impunity actively took away from their power. He threw the Jedi into chaos. There's no Sith Lord here doing that. The Star Wars fans' complaints were never about doing something new within the franchise's universe. Other Star Wars series were very well received by the public, such as the first two seasons of The Mandalorian and Andor. However, The Acolyte never set out to explore the franchise's Canon, but to change everything that is represented in the first 6 original Star Wars films. Although Star Wars is a work of fiction, it is a work that has millions of fans all over the world. Now, aren't Hollywood film studios part of the free-market economy? What's the point of the studio financing a film or series that costs 200 million dollars if it won't bring a return? Since when is loss the new success? Wouldn't it be better to meet the wishes of millions of fans and profit from it? And what's more, leave a legacy of sympathy with these millions of fans for future releases? The Acolyte cost 220 million dollars, and brought Disney's streaming services fewer views than Willow. In other words, an unprecedented loss. The Acolyte has a mediocre script, the story doesn't develop and fails to connect with the viewer. The story is poor and full of plot holes. The plot is tiresome and repetitive. The special effects, for a series worth 220 million dollars, are far below the Star Wars standard. The interpretation of some actors through their characters is terrible. The setting of the episodes, except for the first episode, is the work of an amateur studio. And to tie it all together, there is the Woke seal, in which the series exists only to advertise this postmodern ideology. Final score: 3.
There is a difference between “some viewers are still checking the show out”, specially those who prefer to binge watch once all episodes are available, and “it is making huge ratings”. The Acolyte had some of the worst, if not outright worst, ratings of any SW show on D+.
When you're Leslye Headland and you release the Acolyte and suddenly being a long-time assistant to Harvey Weinstein and being his buddy, is the SECOND worse thing you've done
Jaby you didn't notice the "don't hold the bridges, hold the girls". I need to rewatch your reaction of that scene in the show because I can't believe that. I thought you commented about that.
Women: it’s ok to sexually objectify guys in entertainment if they’re hot. Also women: it’s not ok to sexually objectify any women in entertainment because it’s disgusting. Also the comments at the end where Achara completely insulted Jaby were not necessary. Jaby was only questioning what the relevance of the shirtless scene was. It had no relevance. Achara: you’re just jealous and he’s hot and you’re not! Great logic! Also Achara: women shouldn’t be objectified by creepy men. Can’t have it both ways Achara! Jaby was correct, he’s a guy that gets his shirt off for no reason. It’s completely pointless and had no relevance, neither did the entire show apparently haha 😂
Don’t you feel stupid for watching this show now?!?!? Having someone else have to point out the obvious of how crap the show was, without ever really picking up on it yourself? Idk kinda baffling.
They have been stretching stories, like turning the "Obi-Wan Kenobi" movie into a six-episode series. It's just an attempt to extend viewing time, nothing more.

Yea I can’t lie, Kerry Ann Moss did bring me in, the opening fight was nice but I dropped mid 3rd episode because it was boring. Wasn’t aggressively bad, just boring
I could barely make it through episode one. How many tween leads must there be in films nowadays? This trend is totally driven by consultants who think kiddie-led movies are what the audience wants. News flash: no. For me, the protagonist in the Acolyte is annoying and boring. Nothing against the actress. It's more of a slam against the writers, producers, and the studio for spewing out yet another factory made series to try and cash in on the SW brand. Put some effort into the story and stop with using kids as the leads.
Tween leads? The girl is in her mid20s lol. Even the other padawan are in their 20s/30s. Your opinion is entirely valid, but I think the main character was probably the best part (probably due to the main actress doing a great job). I’m with you on the writing though… i almost wish we didn’t know what happened in the past lol. They built up so much momentum just to drop the ball, setting everything on misunderstandings. All that being said, please watch a show in full before having an opinion. Don’t just watch one episode.
Nothing against the actress- you mean the actress who made a terrible homemade rap song about how everyone criticizing the show was racist? Yeah she's a peach.
The issue about the nudity scene is that it is out of lore, breaking immersion. Palpatine never undressed to seduce Anakin Skywalker, so why is it part of the world building, other than 'Shoot to Midnight' identity by sexuality self-insertion ?... Gender politics was the entire plot - not some mystery...

"Wow!Stretching things out is TIGHT!!!"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
There is a difference between “some viewers are still checking the show out”, specially those who prefer to binge watch once all episodes are available, and “it is making huge ratings”. The Acolyte had some of the worst, if not outright worst, ratings of any SW show on D+.
They could have made it into a 90 min movie. (including previews)
Lol... Achara with the "i MaDe A fUnNy....." 😖
"HoW dAre yoU reaCt liKe W hitE meNnn"
I'm still waiting for Hollywood to give me a film or a TV show that is at the same time woke AND great. It's been years. Not a single one, so far.
Man I tell ya Joey could laugh for minutes 😂
You guys were loving the acolyte a few weeks ago, what changed, did the money not come in?
Super fake
When you're Leslye Headland and you release the Acolyte and suddenly being a long-time assistant to Harvey Weinstein and being his buddy, is the SECOND worse thing you've done
Jaby you didn't notice the "don't hold the bridges, hold the girls". I need to rewatch your reaction of that scene in the show because I can't believe that. I thought you commented about that.
0:30 it's actually doing pretty good in the ratings!!🤣
Andor Pitched Meeting When?
"There's no soul" 😭
Best roast of the show I've seen.
Don’t you feel stupid for watching this show now?!?!? Having someone else have to point out the obvious of how crap the show was, without ever really picking up on it yourself? Idk kinda baffling.
Disney SCAR WARTS
Comparing Chris hemsworth to that dude is like comparing a god to a normal hot guy. Chris = hot god bod. Other dude = Hot guy.
The power of MAanNyyY!
12:07 Yeah, the "hot" characters really mean nothing to me. Male or Female I feel nothing.
They have been stretching stories, like turning the "Obi-Wan Kenobi" movie into a six-episode series. It's just an attempt to extend viewing time, nothing more.
the Mandalorian having miniseries of other characters within its run time. Spaceballs had it correct. The Search for More Money.
Sad that if the Obi wan did good, we would've had an season 2 obi wan series 😢.
@@solastro5595 The acolytes will have second season because of the crying woke b*******s.
Of course they will not make another season of Obi Wan because the two main stars are beloved and WHITE MALES.
But Amandla is some binary person who make video about racists…and the same way she is being so racist to everybody.
@@solastro5595 I believe it could have been a good movie; the only reason it didn't reach its potential was that it was unnecessarily stretched out.
glad to see reactors not swallowing this crap and seeing it for what it is.
Maybe if the star of this show watched this pitch meeting, she'd better understand the truth behind its cancelation!
Fires in space, stone catches fire, trees fall in odd directions when cut. This show doesn't know science. Then there's the plot...
Good Place is wery great show.
EFAP's reaction to this whole show saved me the trouble of watching it alone and ripping my hair out due to no one pointing out all the stupidity going on.
Great reaction ❤
For the record, as of the time of this post, The Acolyte season 2 has been cancelled.
Yea I can’t lie, Kerry Ann Moss did bring me in, the opening fight was nice but I dropped mid 3rd episode because it was boring. Wasn’t aggressively bad, just boring
Unpopular opinion but I actually enjoyed The Acolyte - after watching this video however I feel I have gaslighted myself lol
Best channel ever
0:28 About that....
I feel like ur missing so many of the pitch meetings
Trend? You mean Hollywood philosophy since it's founding.
@@kroft6799lmao for real. Everyone hates me? Better twerk about it
@@TrixieMatteIpretty sure he's talking about THE 2 KIDS who played the young version of the twins. 🤦♀️😂
Jaby is *HHHOOOOOOTTTTT* I'm surprised to learn he has *any* insecurities abt his looks
You have to react to the Screen Junkies one next.
You guys should watch out to sea it’s funny it is almost like grumpy old men and the 2 that watched the last one should watch out to sea next
