@LouiSwagula Most blocks can barely be heard at 16 blocks away, so they work great high up on the side of factory buildings or off on the arms of some crane or something. I agree, not wise to put them in the bedroom, haha, but get it high up or in the distance and I think it works! (Or go creative and stick a localized command blocks dropping trapdoor volume down. 😆)
Hahaha, yeaaaaaaaaah, definitely more of a modern aesthetic, hence why it's a stand alone video. But I am looking at how to make this work horizontally for a fantasy airship style build.... As for bedrock, I think it *should* work, depending on the tick speed, because it's using redstone lines rather than observers that get weird when it comes to signal consistency. But it would need to be tested.
@brutexx2 ooooh. That's a fascinating idea. Set up a double door, system that opens and closes a 2x2 of doors and closes them rapidly. Could look super janky or super cool, haha. More to experiment with!
@DarkSpirit64 Oh that is a really cool idea! If you added some magma or soul sand in front of it with bubbles it would make for a really cool animated part of the base!
@DarkSpirit64 Check the improved design in the pinned comment. Doesn't use redstone and using a sticky piston you can start and stop it. You could set it up to turn on any time you are out of the base and off when you are there. That way it's animated when you are approaching or around it, but it's not super loud when you are in the base. Just some ideas!
Really cool design, I saw kotas and thought it was awesome and seeing it done with this and it reduces lag is awesome. Now if it can be squeezed into a smaller footprint now that would be an experiment. Keep up the good work. Dropped you a sub
@witheredgolum Thanks! There are ways to make the footprint smaller, but it comes with slowing the animation down or risking redstone burnout or adding in more noise. All of which might be fine for certain builds or environments depending on the builders needs. I didn't want to get into showcasing every possible option, but if that's something people want I can do a video just focused on that. I am DEFINITELY adding these to an Airship build eventually.
@jakekeltoncrafts yes I will definatly tag you. My latest episode I've done some bits with lava particles that look like dripping resin. Always trying to find the next little detail to put into my builds
@@jpting_ There's another new version in the pinned comment, but this design feels a bit more natural to it, imo. But there's lots of room for designs of all types!
Kota's original design actually works best if you just make sure you move 2 observers into place with pistons at the same time (so there's 2 signals going around the observer clock instead of 1)
@strawberrana Yeah, I pinned a video with an improved design, though it doesn't give much control over speed. I put the two side to side and I like that mine has a little bit of randomness. But I think it depends on the build. A worn factory might be nice to have it a little slower, where an airplane would want perfect consistency. But yeah, my design is good, but far from the best.
Thanks! It's got my brain running circles coming up with other uses for this. Maybe as cogs on a large conveyor belt? Or mini gears on a steam punk build. It's opened up a lot of movement options.
@quubey_ In fairness, Minecraft's redstone also keeps changing, so we get to do things that older versions might not have been able to pull off. I've got a lot of really cool new ideas from this I want to mess with!
@CATusthetidsresenar Feel free to use and improve on it! Credit to Kota for coming up with it first. Also check the improved design in the pinned comment if you want to use observers with an easy turn on and off option.
and you can make an on off switch with a pulse extender or some way to slow the fan’s “rotation” down to a stop by connecting a basic switch to the clock. would love to see this further explored.
NOTE: Upon further experimentation, occasionally the 3 repeater system will break on loading into the world, but the 4 repeater system does not. Likely worth building a "on-off" switch to restart it if it breaks in your world.
@itskingdot I'll see if I can put something together. It's a pretty simple piston feed tape. The andecite is attached to slime and honey blocks in a loop with pistons pushing them in a circle. At this point I know a lot more and could probably make it faster/better. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@jakekeltoncrafts this just gives the vibe of a soon to be popular vid. for a small channel, the video itself is well-edited and very visually appealing. I never would've guessed you had only 1k subs
@BCR81 Thanks! I would wager my small sub count is due to only getting videos out every other month or so, haha. Just a busy life. But the compliments on the editing is appreciated!
Create would be my go-to, but life is complicated enough in Vanilla I'm not breaking open that mess, haha. But yeah, look into Create, it does a TON of wild and smooth stuff and is a very powerful excellent mod.
@The3gg Using a sticky piston to turn it on and off by moving the observer into position, with their observers set up, really works cleanly. Built it myself. I will say, it's almost *too* perfect? In that the trapdoors just bounce A state to B state and back in perfect sync, where both Kota's and mine have a *little* more randomness to them, but it's tight, clean, and easy to turn on and off.
@@SpaceViking_ I think it's possible, especially since you could put the clock in the body of the plane and run the signal down the wing to the different turbines. Iron trapdoors would be loud, but so is an airplane, haha.
@moamoei I could be wrong on this, no server/redstone expert, but a single clock moving a couple of trapdoors doesn't seem terrible in the lag department. I had 8 clocks running 11 fans in the same area of this world with 0 hint of lag. And redstone lines turning on and off seems like it would be less laggy than 8 observers per fan. A more knowledgeable person can correct me, but I think if you are only adding a handful of these in one area of your world for aesthetics you should be fine. 🤷♂️
aslong as you have only a few clocks (say a central bus for every fan of matching speed) it should be fine, or atleast less laggy than one observer clock per fan, but i'm no technical minecrafter either
@mehhie6685 100%. And I don't see anyone making a hundred of these in one area, even for the aesthetics. I think the auditory problems would be a reason to limit at that point more than the lag, haha.
@tubach1082 I had 12 running in this area without a hint of lag, plus mods and shaders. I am sure you could make enough to get some lag, but one or two, unless you have a really low end PC, you should be fine. But I get that it's not for everyone.

Dude that looks so clean! Well done!!!
The best ideas start somewhere, and you kicked this one off brilliantly. All thanks to you!
I’m loving seeing these the past few days. My only problem with them is their noise but it’s such a clever design

Actually real fans make noise too
It would look so good in every room in the castle, just trust me it fits perfectly😊
Also do you know if it works on bedrock?

Alr thanks
Maybe doors could be the answer to make it work horizontally, as they open/close horizontally.

I'm building an under water base on a server, either for submarine fans or for a ventilation, this is gonna fit right in, thanks for sharing
I'll probably modify it to make it stoppable, but the idea itself is something that wouldn't have come to my mind
@DarkSpirit64 Oh that is a really cool idea! If you added some magma or soul sand in front of it with bubbles it would make for a really cool animated part of the base!

COOL they indeed would look and work great as propellers too :)
well arranged watersource blocks and flowing blocks can also give it the bubble effect

@@jakekeltoncrafts I did see that one! But I'd have to say I prefer this design more.
