The quietness of your engine in such beautiful quiet surroundings is fabulous! Thanks for another great episode.
The sound of rain is such a wonderful thing...
One of the best creative advertising here on RUclips. Makes fun to even watch the advertising part. Can all the other creators please take a look at this and learn how to advertise creatively?
100%
Certainly got the knowhow👌👍🙌
I never forget when Kika and Dan talked about what would be the worst that can happen. I don’t remember Kikas answer but Dan said, the worst would be loosing you. What a great guy!
nice couple, wish all the best
And Kiki said, “well, that’s not going to happen”. Great Dan and great Kika
It was the book of questions and I believe the question was what is the one could not live without. North Atlantic Crossing around 10th day
Congratulations on the sponsorship. It is so good to see you navigating your way through the life you are building for yourselves.
The way you integrated the Skillshare ad into your video was SO seamlessly well done! An ad agency should hire you two to do their ads (remotely, of course). Your editing has become so professional over the years. Amazing. And oh, Kika, you're so darned cute! And Dan, is also a handsome dude, and lucky. You're such a great couple, intelligent, resourceful, etc. etc. I can say those things, cuz I'm just old (77, unfortunately). Thank you for sharing your amazing life with us. Love you guys and can't wait each week for your new video.
Perfectly said!!
@@markgetz Thank you, Mark!
Fully agree! I normally skip right past any ad or sponsorship stuff. But I was actually entertained with this one and watched the whole thing.
@@srcastic8764 And I’m even going to look the website up and see if I can find some thing that interests me! :-)
Yep.....kika is very very cool!
Your anchorage is very beautiful, thank you for sharing,...........You two are very Blessed. Safe travels.
That was probably the most creative ad I have seen for Skillshare. The way you two worked it into the scene. Cool Beans
OMG , now ya'll will have us tuning in each week to watch you play out all your sponsors. LOL luv it!!!!!!!
Loved Kika talking/arguing with herself. Great job!
I sure do miss you two when you are busy having a life. Thanks for sharing when ever chance prevails.
I love how quiet your boat is.
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST COMMERCIAL INSERTION ON RUclips!
Kika, your videos get better and better every week. I can't get enough. So fun to watch and I learn so much. Thanks.
You two are just too much fun. The day your vid shows up is always a good day. Always leaves me chuckling and peaceful. Your video editing is both fascinating and professional. You bring constant light to the dark corners of life. Thank you sooo much.
storms can seriously damage a sailboat, steer clear of the big ones, thank you for making my day Kika and Dan, blessings, love and respect from T&T
Genuinely love you guys. Like everyone you no doubt have bad days but we don't see it and your couple relationship pulls you through. Glad I found your channel.
Your editing is getting more and more clever! Kika is mastering her skills! 😁✌️💥
I don’t understand the function of the stern line to shore ..wouldn’t be better to use a stern anchor.
That looks so much like the San Juan & Gulf Islands. So yes, BC with water. I've sailed up the inside passage up Jervis inlet and looks like Norway. Wow! Great video storytelling and capturing the beauty.
uma nation
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
don't buy a couch
true inspiration you guys are my hero's
I almost forgot, because it’s par of the course, Uma is an eclectic sailboat. I appreciate the sweet, quiet sound of auxiliary propulsion to cuddle into the perfect anchor spot. Me too. Just thinking out loud, quietly.
I like the shot of the water rippling around the anchor
I love the sound of rain when Im in a boat or a caravan etc. It's so restful to listen to. But to have that and be afloat in a beautiful place? I envy you guys.
Of all the sailing channels, I must say, yours is one of the best. Please consider writing a book about sailing. We want to learn all your tips and tricks.
Traveling on a yacht is beautiful and romantic. Great video. Thank you.
You two are real sailors. Love your show,s. You two take and be safe can,t wait till your next video. The best you are.
Best integrated advert I've seen - kept me entertained, fit the vid, and I didn't want to end the vid before it was over. Nice job!
the best ad I´ve ever heard!
Great Idea, great realisation!
That´s the most simpatico and least annoying Skill-share ad of all times. They should pay you double.
I loved the scene in the immigration office, trying to prove that you don’t have COVID. Kika gives a little cough, the music come to a screeching halt, Pan to Dan’s wide eyes....brilliant!
I wouldn't mind Uma shirts or even a onesie, looking like racecar onesies, with a lot of sponsors as long as it keeps you guys going. Also, read comments during all those adds, when a 30 min ad comes up, go make lunch, take a shower, go workout.
Flippin' awesome as ever. Beautiful cinematography and even the sponsor spots are enjoyable. I look forward to the first documentary project you get to do with Netflix!
Always entertaining, even the simplest things are engrossing, you both just have a gift, and I can see you will be more than sailers entertainment, as the world learns of you.
This is just so well done. It's a brilliant concept that captivates but frees people who watch and follow. This doesn't come from anyone deprived--retired 63 year old climbing guide, all over the country and parts of our intriguing world. Born abroad, raised on and in the water and so happy to be able to go back to it (in the flesh, not just virtually!) after a new ankle and having to see my dream climbs from a distance. I recognize the real deal when I see it, even if marketed and merchandised! It's what brings you to me and vice versa. Saving the concept of beneficial social media into the bargain! Stay safe, keep it smooth and mellow.
If I may suggest: when running a line to shore it is a good practice somewhere in the middle to place a plastic bottle with the rope passing trough. In this way if any animal (e.g. rat) starts walking on the rope will simply fall in the water without reaching the boat. Hope it will be useful for you not to have unexpected guests
it makes it more visible to humans as well... not that there are many in Norway ;-)
@edorado martinelli Any link to a photo to get a better idea?
A...ummm,... norwegian rat?
@@ThomasKeffer Yes! Preferably one that speaks English with a Norwegian accent
@@nixl3518 I laughed ridiculously hard at this comment! Thank you!
Thanks for posting and sharing. BOTH anchorages looked SO nice!
Dan and Kika,
When you sail 180deg , using spinnaker and jib 120-150deg apart , this is called "butterfly".
This is the most dangerous position, in case of sudden gusts and puffs.
Keep up the good presentations....🏖️🚣👍
This is why Thursdays are one of my favorite days... At least RUclips wise! That was the best Skillshare ad ever!!!! One of these days I am going to join that! Thank you for sharing your sailing life with all of us!
Thanks to my two love birds for sharing just keep them coming.
How time flies, just over a year ago you two were crossing the Atlantic. Nice to see our Canadian flag fly proud in Norway. Cheers de Montréal!
Dan is a great Ambassador for Canadian! Kia would make a great Canadian too ;) Bravo de Montréal!
I keep checking in when I can and today I realised how far Kika has come with her sailing prowess and confidence, must have something to do with having a supportive teacher 😎
Kika knows how to sail just as much as I do. She just usually is the one holding the camera filming...
Such a beautiful drone shot at 18:42
This is a sad day. I've just finished binge watching from step one and now have to wait until a new video is released...
Same here for six weeks! It is still sad!
Enjoy your creativity and your conversation with Dan good job Kika I like it
Without a doubt, at 16:02, the BEST 4 seconds of sailing B-roll EVER!!! So incredibly serene. Bravo!
man Norway is pretty. I could imagine buying a boat and just floating from fjord to fjord
@@JandH2017 when you're looking for rocky bottoms :-)!
My family history I’m from sandefyord in Norway. I’d love to visit there
Just don’t expect the water temperature to be anywhere near tolerable! :-)
@@JandH2017 Most northern latitude I have swum is S. coast of England and its an ice cube in August!!
Now that you have a sponsor, I'm going to be expecting some new additions.. like cool CGI, and more action - like sailboat chase scenes and bad guys and monsters and explosions.
just wait until they get sponsored by Raid! Shadow! Legends! and 90% of the video is taken up by fake gameplay footage!
We only promote the things / gear / platforms /websites we actually use and find helpful enough to actually want to share that information with our audience... We don't play video games.
@@SailingUma Your "promo" for Skillshare was the best and funniest I have seen! Well done.
@@SailingUma Nintendo 64 doesn't count as video games? Lol
@@SailingUma And a really clever way to insert the advertisement for your sponsor; it fit into the flow of the video nicely.
Aah Finally I see some sweaters coming out, time to enjoy your little edits and thinking glad its not me freezing my but out there in the snow storm xD.
Love how quiet you guys get around the anchorage I think the Future is Now with your E-drive, keep Inspiring
I've watched everyone of your videos, and loved everyone of them. your cruising , and your editing skills are both awesome.
Your production creativity has really taken off. Excellent work.
Tusen takk for en hyggelig film igjen. Dere er flinke - Mange takk til dere!
That may be the most individualized skillshare promo I have seen in a while. Full circle and fun to watch.
It’s been too long since I’ve seen your videos. I don’t know if I’ve just fallen behind, or you were in hiatus. Glad you’re back! Or, glad I’m back!
Definitely a cute integration of a commercial. If more commercials were like this, then I wouldn't fast forward through them. 😂
I've been on board for a while now and I am happy for you guys.
Beautiful video as always. Great use of depth of field and focus pulls. Congrats on the sponsorship.
Of course we get it! You made it your own and did it better than anyone else. Congrats on the milestone. You're followers love you. Keep on smiling and the world will smile back!
Well done ! Great videos, great scenes !
Loved this ad read, so creative. Made me laugh 😂
Thanks for sharing! Lovely editing as usual! Fair winds!
Whenever I peruse your vids it feels like I'm onboard with you all and part of it, looking for nuns and cans in the channels and on the lookout for cool anchorages. Thanks for that, guys.
You guys.... I had picked out a fav couple who also sail the ocean. Then I found you and well I love you guys so much. Your destinations, music (biggie), interactions, and the beautiful way you film have stolen my heart. No worries, I will still watch and enjoy my first loves, but I can't wait to see your installments each week. Fair winds? is that right? haha Ya'll take care now.
I love watching your adventures.
Cool sound with the shock cord! You've invented the "Umaphone". 🤣👍❤
I wonder if you guys have considered designing boats? Watching Uma transform has been amazing. I don't know that I'd have the skill/patience to finish all those projects myself, but I'd sure be confident to have you design a boat for me, inside and outl Your aesthetic is great. And your badass DIY skills are inspiring for ANY kind of project.
Uma looks so neat and tidy! Cool to hear that you will stay in Norway for a while.
Very creative ad drop! Bravo!
Your Norwegian was pretty good :D
Love y’all
Congrats on the sponsorship!!!
Kudoss on learning the Norwegian language! Great video!💝😍😍
Its so fun to see that u are in norway, and i love that u are teaching the language
wow your video quality is just amazing. You are getting better and better with each video. Very impressive.
I love watching you guys. SOOOO relaxing and so different to my own life! Keep sailing!!
In BC I usually try to run the line to shore and back to the boat so it's easier to leave, but I am also probably a lot closer to shore and the Province has put in a lot of metal rings to stop people from tying to the trees and scraping the bark off. Anchoring close to shore definitely makes me nervous, but it can't be helped when there are several boats trying to share a small bay, or the water gets deep very quickly.
I am really liking seeing Norway the Uma way. I am dreaming and you are doing
Looks like they bought new cool looking sweaters in Norway :-)
A very soothing mood, overcast, quiet, sailing ahead of the rain, a choice of beautiful anchorages - a day I would have enjoyed! Take care of each other!
Love it, love it, love it!! :D Your videos are always top notch and fun to watch :) Looking forward to see more of your adventures in Norway, and nice to see that you got some nice Ulvang wool clothes, they are great and a must in the coming months ;) Lykke til på ferden videre!
I take the time out of studying to relax and clear my thoughts ... except today, where I'm reminded that I have a data science interview on the 30th. Thanks! (it's just a mock practice interview I'll be fine) Lol
Good luck!
good luck!
What a sweet and wonderful episode!
Thank you =)
Especially Kika's soliloquies...
🤗❤️
That looks like a perfect place to take your bow to the shore and anchor the stern. Many promising places there.
Love the way you did the Skill-share commercial! Good Job! Great Video.
You have certainly opened my eyes as to what a picturesque cruising ground Norway is, thank you!
Promotion of skill share skilfully done!
It’s very enjoyable to watch you explore our country. Good luck with your new Norwegian “Ulvang” wool sweaters. They are great. Keep you warm and are good quality.
Fun episode. Keep it fresh. Stay safe.
Well thought out and integrated. Good job. Also a great job of 'selling' Norway, what a great sailing destination...
Congrats on getting a sponsor!
Good NZ morning guys. I was thinking...about now they'll light the fire. To give that "feel good" feeling while it's raining. No? Ok..Moving on. I just love your channel guys. Im a recent subber and I just love the way you interact with each other. For me as a viewer, it's refreshing to watch you 2, and how you communicate with each other, and us. You don't talk OVER the top of each other. I like that with you guys. It indicates to me that you have respect for each other. Respect for what the other person has to say. Put simply..Good Manners. You see, I want to actually hear what each person is communicating to me. I've already unsubscribed from 3 American sailing channels for that very reason. You've got me as a subscriber for a looong time. And i thankyou for the hard work you put into producing each video. Take care and stay safe. ATB.
Watching this video really makes me long for living outside in the open. I can almost smell the rain. Great job!
Can't help admiring you both as a team .
You're role models for success..😃
Så bra du lærer deg norsk da Kika, artig å se Uma i kjente farvann. God helg 😁
When Dan was playing Uma's new strings, it sounded like the attack music in Jaws.
Another lovely video! Thank you! Norway's lovely isn't it!
FYI, it may sound like a headache. But line bags & covers dramatically increase their lifespan. Keep up the great work 😉
You can see why Slartibartfast won some awards.
Today's Albion results please
There's a girl at work with that description.
Still coping with Covid in Ont/Cda, your videos are the highlight of the week and make this situation a lot more bearable. Many, Many thanks! Stay safe :-)
Thank you!
If I may suggest: A 1m diameter stainless chain loop will save your stern line from chaffing on the rocks. Also a webbing loop around trees will protect the bark and the line.
Love the videos. Love the synergy.
Yup. Already use a webbing loop for the trees. We slack line, rock climb and have set up hammocks for years. We know the drill.
As for rocks, yes, the plan is to get something a bit more durable. Not sure it will be chain though.
I’m really enjoying it
