There's less than a month left until Mike has to have the ULTRA X5 ready for SEMA! Do you think the build will be finished in time? Make sure you're subscribed to see if he finishes on time!

Definitely one of the baddest e53's and x5's period for that matter! Nice job Mike! 😊 Only other e53 I like as much would be that silver one on gold BBS' LM's with the complete LMP drivetrain that's like 700whp! There's a video of Hans Stuck driving it floating around. 🤯 Video is well worth checking out if you haven't already. Your build looks so savage, especially next to the stock one! LOL 😂 I think I'd get some stainless mesh and a plastic welder (or soldering gun with the appropriate flat tip,) to "back up" and reinforce your seam on the shortened rear bumper. You did a nice job lining that up, and I'm confident you won't be able to tell the difference once the body guy goes over it. The panel bond stuff is strong, and if it wasn't an off-road type application where you'll be smacking stuff with it, you may be able to get away with it as-is. My concern is impacts from trees, debris, etc will cause the cover to flex enough where it'll start to separate and crack. The coarse stainless mesh added to the backside on the bumper cover, overlapping the repaired area/ seam will actually be stronger than the rest of the cover if you do it right. Trick is to heat the mesh enough where it will fuse itself and 'sink in' below the surface of the plastic. You can use leftover scraps from that bumper or similar plastic scraps as 'filler rods' to also fill in low spots, or add thickness behind the repair if you choose in addition. They do sell plastic filler rods just like with regular welding but as long as you are using the correct plastic, scraps are fine. ABS or PP is what you want. I've done a bunch of shaved/ smoothed bumpers, plastic welding repairs on all kinds of stuff, and various custom pieces as well as body work, and I just figured I'd offer some tips on that because I'd hate to see the cover flex and crack after it was just painted on a trail or something.
Looks awesome man! You really killed it!👍💪😎
