I'm so thankful I found your RUclips. A lot of what you are telling/teaching about the orchids I was wondering about. I sat ALL day looking at your videos. Thank you so much for sharing. Pam from SW Oklahoma
I really am enjoying watching your videos since I found your channel recentky. I am new to orchids and I’m learning so much from people like you. I especially love how you share what you are learning along the way, and how you learn those lessons.
Last year you gave me some advice and today my plant is blooming!! I also bought another two and one has two flower spikes and the other has 3!! Thank you for helping me save my beautiful orchid. I wish there was a way to show you a pic.
You have so much patience on growing your orchids. I was spraying water from the top and it rotted the leaves. Very informative video. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing your orchid knowledge and tips. I was desperate to save a phalaenopsis orchid my grandchildren got me for Mothers' Day. It looks like there is hope now. 😄❤👏
One of my orchids had lost most of its roots so I put it in a large glass container with Spangler Moss. Much to my surprise instead of having more roots It has a baby. I have another orchid in a glass container that has new roots. I'll be using your method in making my own potting medium for my plants. Pam from SW Oklahoma
Regarding your orchid at around the 21 1/2 minute mark with … with tiny baby leaves, and the two flower stems… I watched a really great video yesterday of a young lady who showed how to get keikis from spikes after you trim them off your mama plant… And without the use of Keiki paste. She wrapped moss around the stems and popped them in a tall glass jar After making sure all the moss was moist. Then she covered the top with Perforated plastic to allow the moisture and warmth to stay in the jar, but still have some circulation and avoid mold. She seriously got keikis after waiting not too long.
Th you for showing us the technique of just spraying the top. It's so hard not to know what to do when there's no top but only beautiful, green roots showing. There's hope yet!
+Isabelle Laval you are always welcome. Yes, it is important to know how to water. It is better to cover the mane stem with something and after that to spray the top.
+Barb Froede Thank you very much for your support . Yes, I’m trying somehow to find time for making a video. My baby started crawling and Me running after him. 😂He loves my flowers. His direction is always towards my flowers.
Hi Emaan thank for the video now I know and learn how to save my orchids I am a newbie to orchids and learning t hue hard way, i have l lost a few but I didn't know I could save them. Thank you so much I will be more patient this time. Hgave a great day from Melbourne Australia
Hi Emaan, I so wish I had your knowledge on orchids, your plants are growing amazingly well. I have just bought another phal orchid which was reduced from £20 to £10, still quite expensive for a reduced price, however I was 'drawn' to try and save her, she only had one flower left but she has has 3 big, healthy leaves and 4 flower stems, which do look healthy and they seem to have little nodes or something on them, am I supposed to cut them off or let them grow because I somehow think they look like they will produce flowers, totally not sure, but I did clean her up and gave her food so I am praying she stays alive and gives me new flowers and more leaves, what do you think? :) my other little orchid that I told you about before (my daughter bought for me) seems to be coming back, she has two tiny new leaves coming out the middle although her leaves are still a bit 'floppy' I am praying she is coming back to life!
Very good video. You have done so well with all those sick orchids. I believe the old flower spikes contain Phosphorus and Potassium which can be used by the growing orchid. It might be a good idea not to cut them off.
Thank you for showing and explaining what you have done. Very helpful. I had an orchid with no roots and followed one of your earlier videos. Now my orchid has 4 roots,
+Pam Boulet you are always welcome! I’m very happy for you that you could save your orchid and that my videos somehow helped you. Thank you also for letting me know about that!🥰😊🌺👍
Thank you Emaan for a nice informative video. I am following your method to grow orchids. They are growing properly. Please make a video how to apply fungicide to orchid and when to do. Thanks.
Hello Sumita, I read your post and thought I would tell you of my success with Mancozeb fungicide. I simply used 0.6 g of fungicide powder dissolved in 400mL of water as a bath. I lowered the entire root base in it's pot into a slightly larger container so that the entire root area was submerged, and left it for a few minutes, and then removed it to let the pot drain. After ten minutes, I flushed the treated pot with distilled water. This killed off any sign of mycelium very well. Repeating this treatment after 10 days is the recommended procedure. I have been very pleased with the result :) I enjoy these videos very much. It's great to see Emaan bring these poor relics back from the dead! All the best with your fungus issues.
@@southerly11 Thank you very much for your guidance about the use of fungicide. I am from India West Bengal. I was wondering if that specific fungicide would be available over here. If it is available from Amazon, I surely buy it. Thank you.
+Sirene 74 you are always welcome!🌺🌺🌺 How are your orchids doing? You told that you couldn’t save yours. What about other orchids? Hope they are doing great
@@EmaansGarden thanks for asking, Emaan! All of my remaining 5 orchids are doing great: new roots and new leaves, plus 14 new flower buds. But I have to leave them for 2 weeks. I have arranged self-watering for 2 pots, the other 3 will be left with some water at the bottom of the tray. Hope, their roots will not rot 😢
+Sirene 74 my congratulations! I’m very happy for you. Are those flower buds for the first time after purchasing? Probably you are so excited! You can leave your other 3 orchids: take out from their decorative pots, put in some container lava rocks or bricks ( which can absorb water and give up to your pots) or broken pieces of clay pot. Place your pots in the container on top of the lava rock or... Fill in the container with water until it covers the lava rocks but your pots don’t need to sit in water . And leave them. Water your orchids just one day before you leave. That way they don’t rot. Even you can put rocks in the decorative pot, put water and on top place your orchid pot. If you leave water in the pot roots can rot.
@@EmaansGarden I have some lava rocks, I will do it like you said. Thanks for the advice! Those flower buds are new. Why don't you put a wick in the bottom part of the pot and let it transfer humidity to the moss (self-water)? This way you can leave those orchids unattended for long time and let them take care of themselves....
+Sirene 74 I didn’t do it at the beginning. And now I don’t wanna disturb them, because they can not take it. It would be too much stress for them. They have to focus in growing new babies now. If I transfer for wick watering I have to disturb them. But some of my orchids I started transferring to the wick watering( healthy ones) . Thank you for your advice!
@@EmaansGarden I had to arange self-watering for my orchids. I hope, they will not develop any root rot. Their roots are so healthy now....don't want to disturb them either, but I had to do something. I am going on vacation for 2 weeks.
+Sirene 74 in shaa Alloh they will not rot from wick watering. I have some trash found orchids in wick watering and some of them in wet feet. All are doing great. And even you can water them just the day before you leave and not to worry. 2 weeks is normal for them to stay without watering. Because I water mines ones in 2 weeks.

+Kathleen Murphy dendrobium orchids grow like that. From the canes they produce babies. They don’t need to have the roots for that. People who know they don’t throw away old canes from them , instead they put them to propagate and make lots of dendrobium orchids from them. Thank you!
Could u Plsee tell what kind of orchid compose are you taking

Here is the link for my orchid medium. And I also showed how I make wood charcoal if you wanna learn. Thank you for watching.
Just in time Imaan. I’m having a stem rot problem in one of my phals. 😔😔

+Ethel Rizarri Thank you!
Nice idea dear 👌💚😍💚👌
+My Plant World Thank you!🌺🌺🌺😊
Are these planted in moss only.?
+B.J. Gooden No, only on top I put some moss.I used my home made medium for those trash found orchids too.
I should have watched your videos long time ago 😭😭😭
Why don't you have holes on the sides of your plastic pots/cups, like others do?
Admire your orchid knowledge!
Susan Gage Thank you very much!
What type of fertilizer?
You have so many orchids and I can’t afford to even buy one. Do you ever give any of them away ?
@@EmaansGarden in sha Allah
Question- why do you call new leaf baby’s ? A baby would actually be a whole new baby plant.
Very helpful information, thank you.
My orchid has a flower spike with tiny, sticky clear droplets on it. Also the tip of the spike seems wimpy like all the sap is at that place inside. I don't know what to do to keep it from spreading. I already took a Q-Tip with alcohol and cleaned residue off but it is still coming back through the plant. Have you or your readers seen this before. Help!
Rosemary Lent is it happy sap?
@@resilience4lyfe331 ,I'm sorry this isn't funny it is killing this plant.

Good job
Long time no hear!
But please be correct:
keikis are pronounced KAY-KEYS
Th you for letting us all know this correct pronunciation 😊😊 Happy summer and happy gardening. We here in France are having the worst heat wave we've ever had since they started recording temperatures about 150 years ago. Keep yr fingers crossed that at the end of it we don't get violent rain storms and hail.
I love your videos and there is nothing wrong with the way that you speak. Great work. I learn so much from you. Thank you
@@isabellelaval7294 Oh my God sweetie! I am going to keep you all (& also your plants) in my prayers! Thank you for sharing about your experience & hopefully it will help us all be more thankful for what we have! Good luck with that girl!
Isabelle Laval Thank you! Yes in Southern Europe May was rain all day and June a terrible heat wave, I nearly lost a dendrobium nobile because I was away for 6 days 😊
Can't hear the woman on vidio
Sound is very weak.
Oh, just show how to save the root . Not the once you already saved
Rude
Your orchids are to deep. They will rot. They make babies cause they are trying to survive.
Please dont move the camera too much. It's making me giddy. lol
+bijin3000 sorry for that. Long time didn’t make videos. Probably forgot how to....😂
@@EmaansGarden make more! Lol
Sorry, but you need to speak up a little or have a man read from a script you have written.
