- Working in a stand with quite a mix of different species. Oak, Alder, Redwood, Fir... etc. Watch this video to the end...I get stuck in a buck and when I wedge it out .... the log keeps hold of the tip of my saw and throws it down the hill ! Made for a more exciting video... but it most certainly was not part of the plan.
Im glad that fir didn't come back and get you. The fresh 500 took its first trip down the strip but thats better than you going down. Just goes to show how unpredictable timber falling can be. Thanks for sharing i always appreciate and look forward to your video's. God bless
Thanks!

That was a lot of work for one 13" log. Dan, could you drag those oak trees up onto the road for me before you leave? Thanks! Just kidding.
Yes ....a lot of work for that little guy...The oak is good...but you would like the Madrone better...theres some of that in this unit. That being said it usually gets logged and the madrone finds its way into the back of the loggers pickups very quickly.
Why do they have you guys bucking those small ones?
I really don't know...They just prescribe the limited buck spec to some of these units and we do our best to follow it....bucking things down to 40 feet ends up including most trees...
whats with the tiny screen?
I tried loading from the Go Pro to the I phone...did not work as good as I hoped. Using the computer is much better....
