    Man, you did an awesome job on the boat. I had to do a similar thing to my boat 2 years ago but I had to sell my house in Laurel and the boat along with it. I plan to just spend the money and get a pro guide boat as soon as I decide to buy another house in the next few years. I need a bigger more stable boat because as you can probably tell by watching my channel I am a large mammal. I am looking forward to getting back on the water more constantly when all this covid shit is over. Your channel is doing awesome by the way great content and your channel is steadily growing my man. We gotta hook up and rip some lips later on in the year. Keep growing and thriving brother!

    Hey all of your videos are great and very informative and your build turned out awesome. I’m getting ready to start my conversion and was wondering if the sub floor is a necessity or if it is mostly cosmetic? It’s part laziness on my part and part a budget problem

    • @BassBrothersFishingDMV
      @BassBrothersFishingDMV  3 года назад +4

      It's a little of both cosmetic and functional. Cosmetic because it looks good but functional to keep stuff stored neatly and clean. Also having a sub floor helps with installing your battery in terms of locking it down. But you could build a small riser or something for that. Subfloor also gives you something to rivet supports into or anything else you may need to anchor to the floor of the boat. If funds are tight skip the subfloor and work around those things as best as possible.

    That’s some impressive shit. Pardon my French. Just curious but why did you go with 3/16 for the framing. Seems kind of overkill. Definitely not criticizing. Very impressive

    • @BassBrothersFishingDMV
      @BassBrothersFishingDMV  4 года назад +1

      Hey Mike. I used 1/16th, I might had said the wrong thing. The main deck is 1/8 and the supports are a combo of 1/8 and 1/16. I agree 3/16 would be some serious overkill.

  • @sgtreckless7872
    @sgtreckless7872 3 года назад +1

    Would 1/16 x 1 1/2 be ok to use for the main deck?

    • @BassBrothersFishingDMV

      Sure that would be ideal from a weight perspective. Just make sure you add supports wherever needed.

    Why do you have the sheet and insulation. Is it necessary? What kind of insulation is it?

    • @BassBrothersFishingDMV
      @BassBrothersFishingDMV  2 года назад

      The foam is there mainly to help the boat float if you ever had an emergency situation. It's tye pink foam sheet from home depot

  • @ronmcmullan9975

    @DrDanTDC Год назад

    Quick question, did you glue the insulation board down?

    • @BassBrothersFishingDMV
      @BassBrothersFishingDMV  Год назад

      In this boat no, but I did that on the 1436 build. It's not necessary as long as the flooring lays flush against the foam board. Doesn't hurt to do it regardless though.

    • @BassBrothersFishingDMV

    Hey brother, I'm to the point in my mod to do the framing. I heard you say that you used 1/16" and 1/8" thickness angle. Is it 1" or 1-1/2" angle? I'm heading to Home Depot in the morning. I've got the vast majority of my wiring finished. I'll finish the rest after framing and decking.

    • @BassBrothersFishingDMV
      @BassBrothersFishingDMV  3 года назад

      Hey Steve. Sorry I'm just seeing your comment. Hopefully you used 1 - 1/2" angle.

    • @TN-Vols-Fan

      @@BassBrothersFishingDMV No need for apologies, we're all busy people. I did use 1 1/2"! Due to the holidays, I stopped with the mods for the time being. All of the wiring is completed along with the rod tubes. All I have left is some framing, covering the framing, paint and hydro turfing the floors.

    • @BassBrothersFishingDMV
      @BassBrothersFishingDMV  4 года назад

      A 1448 Jon boat would be hard to unload from a truck bed without the conversions done. I would get a smaller boat like a 10' if you want to transport it that way.
