I heard him at it was cancelled on another podcast. It's so sad, I hope another studio funds it, or maybe he crowdfunds it because I would definitely donate
I'm a party animal Joe, I'm going to slam a few bud lights with the boys at the pub and see where the night takes me. Just kidding, I'm going to have a cup of tea, listen to this podcast and have a good night's sleep. You're the best.
This was genuinely almost surreal. Joe, Red dead, talking to Arthur Morgan…some of my favorite things in this world, not kidding, all in one little video. Loved every second of it
“Here’s Godrick the Grafted. He’s waiting for me to come and do battle. I’m reminded of my Uncle Raymond, who grafted tomatoes in his backyard garden. He always liked nature. One year he decided to keep bees, and before long, he had jars and jars of honey to give to all of us cousins…”
I’ve stopped listening to this when I sleep and now listen to it whenever I feel panicky. There’s nothing better to help than this and a sit outside. Thanks!
My grandpa died of cancer around the time Red Dead 2 came out. Arthur Morgan reminded me so much of him, he was rough and tough on the outside but deep inside you knew that he was a good person. When Arthur dies at the end of the game it felt like losing my grandpa all over again and I’ve never have felt that deep of a connection in a game before. He loved old cowboy and western movies and I think he would’ve really liked the game. Whenever I miss him I just play Red Dead 2 and when I play as Arthur I feel like I have my grandpa back.
bless you my friend ❤ your grandpas right there with you experiencing every second of red dead 2 you play. i know nothing can replace the feeling of them still being here in person, but every moving pixel of Arthur Morgan on your screen is blessed with your grandpa’s love
i just searched up Joe Pera for the first time in about 2 years to try and get to sleep, as i just remembered he used to help me recover from the awful sadness i get sometimes when i try to get to sleep, and what do you know he’s posted 3 hours ago. must be a miracle
Currently going through a no contact period from an abusive 7 year relationship with someone I loved very much. I sometimes lie awake and have trouble sleeping at night because it hurts. I just want to thank you yet again for another upload. Your content grounds me and reminds me that life can be precious if we learn to live in the moment and appreciate the small things in life
It gets easier! Cheesy saying but how true it slowly becomes. You'll never forget, which is good because theres always something to learn from our experiences, so I wish you the best and good luck on all future endeavors!
combining my old love of dan deacon, my love for all things red dead redemption, and my new love in joe pera in one epic podcast? thank you so much joe, you are a gift to the world
I was trying to fall asleep and started spinning out and was no longer hearing the words and then Joe said “Sky. Harbor. Airport. Sky. Harbor. Airport. Sky. Harbor. Airport.” And it totally snapped me out of where I was going and brought me back to Joe and I fell asleep before the end of the episode. Thank you, Joe. You are everything to us.
holy shit these are my worlds colliding. I never would've thought one of my favorite musical artists would collab with one of my favorite video artists
Everyone named Stephanie just got sent into the stratosphere that was so immersive. Can't wait to play RDR2! Also gotta recommend Kentucky Route Zero, it's about community, predatory debt and grief.
I’m a huge fan of Dan Deacon, you, and roger Clark. Crazy how this has come together. I never would’ve expected it. Always nice to hear your voice Joe!
“Mr Walkway… Mr Walk Down Me I’m the Walkway. Lead me to the building, F*** you” Joe: Pardon me, sir. I don’t mean to interrupt, but have you considered the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport Shuttle Bus Transportation System?
I spent this whole episode crying, in a good way. Maybe I just needed a cry. But the general vibe, and the fact I'm already emotional about RDR2, and I remember watching my wife playing it around the quarantine times too.. and nature, and video games, and the world. Thank you, I needed that.
Hi Joe, Thank you for being a part of my life. You have taught me to be more mindful in a busy and cluttered world. To again begin appreciating smaller things like rocks and beans. For that I cannot be more grateful. My video game recommendation is Refunct. It's a short game, only 10-15 minutes, but I feel a similar peace playing it as I do sharing my time with you. If you do play it make sure you have achievement notifications turned on. Thank you again Joe for everything.
Shout out to all the Turks tuning in to Joe. Btw Batman Airport is real. Only 4 people travels to the airport in every 2 years. It is like Wyoming of Turkey. Although I would love to live in Wyoming. 2:26
Thank the Gods Joe made a podcast. It’s so hard to find someone with such a soothing voice who can make any topic sound interesting with a little humor thrown in ❤
the opening bit about the sunrise in Arizona made me want to get up at 5 AM and pull on some fresh hanes tighty whities, pull up some fresh white athletic wilson socks, then take a hit off a freshly brewed cup of folgers coffee, before brushing my still-wet-from-the-shower thinning combover. up and at em
As someome born and raised in arizona, this was very unexpected. Ive even flown out of sky harbor. i was bored of living there my whole life and moved 2000 miles away. The way you talk about it and the sunsets makes me miss it. thanks for your awesome videos joe.
This is so wild. I have recently found such comfort in RDR2. I dont even mind the spoilers because i heard them before and am trying to prepare for them. As my grandparents were cattle ranchers and rice farmers, i feel a closeness to that way of life. But there is also a deep sadness, like i let someone down for not continuing that life even though it was never an option for me really. Maybe one day ill have the means to own and love a horse. The last encounter with a horse was at a family day at my exs rehab. There i was, in a family group of strangers and a therapist in the horse paddock, trying to lead a horse and have it follow me. I had volunteered to do a simple task in front of a bunch of strangers, hours from home. I had seen my ex once since i was there. He looked good and it felt too good to be true. So at the family day i felt why not get some horse time in. I tried to get it to follow me. It did not follow me. The therapist asked me how it made me feel. I began to cry. It made me feel everything i felt being trauma bonded to a man who repeatedly chose heroin and alcohol over me and over the chance at a real life. It made me feel rejected. It made me wonder what i was doing wrong. I felt inadequate, embarrassed, out of control and small. After that, my ex drank hand sanitizer at the church bathroom and was hospitalized, ending my family day weekend and leaving me alone in a motel room in the middle of nowhere , yet again. That was four years ago and i did a lot of healing since then, without a horse to judge me. It is nice to have virtual worlds such as rdr2 to make us have an escape from the hard times in our lives. Its nice to feel competent in something, even if it doesnt equate with competence in the real world. Its nice to be able to solve problems, get sidetracked and be immersed in a beautiful landscape while locked in a small urban aparrment. Thank you for this wonderful video and for sharing the humor and sorrow of reality in such a soothing and manageable way.
Loved this. I too was obsessed with RDRII in the pandemic. Just fishing, finding plants for crafting and riding my horse through the snowy parts. I'm glad Roger Clark made that amazing cameo. Luv u Joe.
Knowing that Joe is a gamer makes him even more precious. I was playing Yakuza 0 while listening because there’s a business mini game you need to grind in order to get a stronger fighting style and this made it more enjoyable. If you’re still looking for any recommendations Joe, I think you’d get some enjoyment out of Dredge, a fishing simulator/lovecraftian horror game. If that’s a bit outside your comfort zone though, I’d highly recommend a game called Outer Wilds, a space exploration game that I implore you to go into as blind as possible, as it plays off of the fact you don’t know anything about it. Regardless, I hope you enjoy the new games coming out this year or any older games you’re just now getting around to playing
God bless you and yours Roger. My grandfather would have absolutely adored Arthur. I like to think a little piece of him is immortalized because of the work you did.
Thanks, Joe! Your voice is not for me to sleep lol it's actually keeping me up. I'm saddened about this. I will listen to you during the daytime. Thanks anyway!
Because my family are from Buffalo too, and then migrated over the years to AZ, in and around Phoenix, I always think of these two places as inextricably linked. Like yin and yang. Extreme winter, extreme summer. For many years me and family members have travelled back and forth. Many Buffalonians seem to end up there. Running away from all the lake effect snow, and overcorrecting in the process. Meanwhile, my cousins born in AZ came to Buffalo to marvel at the snow and escape the oppressive heat. The balance.
When I 1st heard Dan Deacon live playing when i was done dying It was like a religious experience.... and now he's kickin it with the king of starbucks and buicks himself..❤🏆🤟

Joe this new podcasts is one of the only things that gets me through the day. Thank you also for uploading on spotify as i get an awful connection in school
I didn’t actually need something to fall asleep, but couldn’t wait another day to listen to episode 3. Listened at midnight and I’m so glad I did. Thank you...and I don’t even know what the video game is....😅
Thank you. Botched surgery has made sleep difficult, but I just slept thru to dawn 1st time in 2 years! I want to hear the whole program one day as well; definitely not when I'm driving though, your voice is too hypnotic to me. 😊

what barbaric times do we live in.

That last Arthur Morgan goodnight at the end was the cherry on top

This comment has the energy of grandparents talking to each other and making jokes together, and I like it
Hearing Roger talk about how he was nervous to live in the shadow of John Marston was crazy because Arthur quickly became way more important to me.
This was genuinely almost surreal. Joe, Red dead, talking to Arthur Morgan…some of my favorite things in this world, not kidding, all in one little video. Loved every second of it
