How i recreated Hollow Knight in Unity - 100 Subscriber Special

- Welcome to Outer Studios this video i wanted to push my brain to the limit and learn as much about hollow knight as possible and recreate the same effects and game play! This is how i replicated Hollow Knight. I challenge BlackThornProd, Dani and Brackeys to attempt this to!

Hi! You did a great job! I love Hollow Knight and it would be amazing if you create a tutorial to teach how you did all thath. I recently Discover Hollow knight thanks to Playstation Plus, and i´m really in love with all the world create arround this game, so i decide to create a game, and i was planing to build it in 2d traditionally until i find your video and found thtat there´s a diferent way to build it.

Im making the same thing but in Roblox lol! This is awsome btw!!! Hollow Knight was a game that I have never EVER heard of or seen and when I got it I made myself not watch any gameplay or trailers. I was lost af!! but honestly seeing someone re-create it is amazing. hopefully Ari and William see this! They will probably be so happy

Could you upload the hollow knight sprites you made?
that is amazing! Hollow knight has inspired me to learn Unity. I have a question. I see you created the scene using sprites, slowly piecing together everything. I watched a video by Thomas Brush who seems to create nearly the entire scene (complete) in Photoshop, and then import the whole structure as complete piece with a few layers. Which option is better? Do you know whether Team Cherry did one or the other, or a combination of both sprite/pieces AND complete artwork? THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I know team cherry did it peice by peice and let unity to the paralaxning. Thomas brush uses a paralaxing script they are both great methods and maybe you can do a blend of both!!! Thanks for your comment!

Good video. How have they been able to have different resolutions without losing quality with photoshop? Have you worked at a large resolution and then downgraded to smaller ones? Regards.
Yes a larger res will do the job
Awesome! A quick question: how did you recreated the "blur" effect on the background sprites?
I just added a box blur in photo shop to each sprite so i will have clear sprites, medium sprites, and large meaning blur so 3 spritesheets of the same thing but 2 of them have blur
how long did you take you to achieve this? and now that you know could how long would it take to to make a section of map like this?

Not parallax, but making camera follow player, but in hollow knight way!
Brackeys and thomas brush have tutorials even blackthornprod. All you do is download the cinemachine plug in thats all you need ad the camera there is a range of camera then drag your target and tweak settings. Good luck man hope it works out.!!

it would be great if you actaully shared source code. I've been thinking on developing game similar to Hollow Knight mechanics-vise, but can't find the starting point. It would be helpful to study with your work.
