This idea pops up in my mind, and I was finding for tutorials but nothing seems to be the same as what I thought until I found your video. Great job boisss
I've always wanted to make a game ever since I had a dream about an abandon mine and somewhere in it there was a drop off and a never ending area of purple fog but I think a game like that would be kind of difficult
Actually, I can see that being pretty simple. Don't do that as your first project, I'd recommend building at least 10 games before starting on that project, just to learn the tools you'll be using and get into the mindset of a game dev. But definitely try, never not try because you think you'd be in over your head. Being in over your head is how you learn to swim. Best of luck friend, Deus velocitas.
This looks awesome! I've been working on my first personal project, and am totally stuck on setting up backgrounds (Has to look perfect! lol). This video's very helpful. Thank you :)
Great Video :), any plans to make a tutorial on making a 2d platformer character controller (modular would be ideal - as in for example dash, run etc is its own script)?
Correct yes the hardest part was trying shaders and different blur scripts then i finally thought just add blur small, med, large, extra large to the spritesheets and it made such a big difference in performance and time.
@@outerstudios830 makes sense. Preblurred images are a lot lighter on the engine. And in this case you dont really ever need to change the blur amount so no need to do it in engine i suppose.

Great video! I like your style of art. Maybe make a video about how you make them. I’m developing my own metroidvania game in unity for 1 year now. But my art is not my own but googled assets. It costs so much time to make it. Would you mind to play my game and give me some feedback about it? That would be really awesome!
If you made the video on how to create the character and animated it, send me the link, please, it looks brutal!! Nice ...continue with the rest, you are a Pro.
When I tried making the fog like you did, I clicked the color over lifetime and I didn't have the alpha option that you did in this video? Am I doing something wrong? Is it another package manager you download for colors?
found the answer in case anyone else has this issue: "When you place a particle (you don't even need to place it, just click on it in your prefabs, now check the transformation component, and you will notice that z axys is negative, change it to positive number like 1, now your particle should start showing in both the game view and the scene view. This may not be the solution for everyone, but for me it is, at least for now." Basically, I didn't see how far back I'd pushed the particles, and they were -300 on the Z
Finally, something simple, easy to understand and beautiful! Keep it up!

Best video I have seen on making fog effects for 2d games!
This fog is really neat, keep it up. I'm making a metroidvania with tons of inspiration in Hollow Knight aswell.
Not the video I was looking for but definitely the video I needed

Great video! Do you have a brush got all the grass and stuff?
Great video! Quick question, at 2:46 you mention moving each duplicate ground into a higher or order in layer. Why is that necessary?
Thank you for the good explanation

Really Great video.
Great video. I take it you made the background objects blurry in photoshop?

I made the sprites and the movement script was a blackthornprod Tutorial.

Where do you get these templates?

can you make a tutorial on how to make the character
nice video, can you teach how to create this "3d" floor effect?
How would you do this from scratch with psd?
well explained level designing
a bit slower next time sensei
Then how we could optimise this level for mobile devices? Too much batches!!
This video at 0.5x speed is soooo creepy...
Lol just tried it haha
My fog isn't activating on play, anyone have any tips as to why?

@@connorlawless235 Thank you!!!! Its been driving me crazy that i can't see the particle system when i start my game. Your awesome!
thanks a lot but please dont go so fast xD
Yes sorry for that
It’s been a few months but I’m back now lol
Why do people bother with parallax background scripts if perspective camera does it easily
Do i Need pro Version
where are you from
Australia
This fog tutorial was nice but WAYYY to fast, even pausing the video doesn't help.
hi
code source please
Super hard to follow this tutorial. A combination of blazing speed, hidden mouse cursor, and just horrendous image quality.
