We all think he was serious, as it his complaint had merit, but this comes off as if this hurt his pocket book and now he's trying to find a way out of it.

    Rey was on LWO. Eddie Guerrero beat him in a match and was forced to join LWO. Than when NWO disbanded the LWO, Rey was the only one that didn't take off the LWO shirt and that had a few matches with Kevin Nash because of it

  • @agentorange1156
    @agentorange1156 Год назад +271

    I actually agree with Chavo on WWE's part. Everytime Rey does something it's not because of Rey, or how good he is, or how legendary and how he is the most influential wrestler of all time, it's because he did it for Eddie. Which can be a beautiful tribute to Eddie, but when overdone (like it has been) it seems exploitative. Rey has been under that "shadow" since Eddie passed.

      Rey is in no one's shadow, Rey is a character to himself and Eddie is arguably his biggest supporting character. Fans who legit think that Rey is in "Eddie's Shadow" don't even realize that Rey is basically double more popular than Eddie ever was and that's not a joke. Rey is what most people think when they see a masked wrestler, a high flyer, or a cruiserweight.

    • @mrmoviemanic1
      @mrmoviemanic1 Год назад +13

      @@undergroundgonewrong1929 and became a megastar come 2006, no one's denying that Eddie's passing helped put Rey on another level, but that's legitimately how passionate and connective Rey was with his fans. The dude has lost way more than he's won his whole career yet he's still someone you will follow high or low.
      The Eddie vs Rey debate is so nonsense cause both are amazing in different areas and who's better is totally up to the individual for simple reasons of how much the person connected with them. What can't be argued is how popular Rey is over Eddie.

      Agreed. I’m now in my twenties so when I first played SVR 2006 as a kid, my attention was on Rey because of how fun he was. I recognized his mask, his 619, and his theme song. Plus, I was a clueless kid who had never seen the WWE before and clearly had no pretext of Eddie Guerrero. If anything i can recall skipping over Eddie in the character selection screen thinking he was one of the lesser known wrestlers. Needless to say, now that I know the full backstory, I acknowledge Eddie Guerreros greatness and even though Rey’s marketability went up after his passing, Rey still had what it takes to become an icon.

    Chavo is obviously still bitter that rey mysterio got the big sympathy push when Eddie died while he was stuck with an Uncle Tom gimmick doing jobs. I remember between 2006 and 2008 they tried to make chavo a top guy many many many times. They put him over rey Chris Benoit and cm punk. They even aligned him with edge and made that stupid la familia faction just to try to get him over. It just never clicked. Him winning the ecw title was the beginning of the end of the belt and the brand as a whole.

    Chavo is just jealous that Rey & now Dom are still in the WWE & paying tribute to Eddie, which is something Eddie would love, if he would see Chavo now, he'd probably be like, "hey Chavo cut the pettiness, will yuh!" For Chavo to cry because Rey & Dom are using the Guerrero name is a dumb excuse like Vickie still uses it to make $ at like signings even though she's long been remarried and I think goes by Vickie Benson now.
