i feel like gendered bathrooms can be a good thing tho, as an example I once read about hijabis feeling safer in women only bathrooms to adjust their hijabs so I really like the sims take of 3 bathrooms, even tho i play with walls down too and i hate having to put them back up to know where my sim needs to go pee lol
I think this video has some great points, but I will say: representation does not have to represent the majority of a group or fit stereotypes. Like ash being nb but simply attracted to male sims isn’t a big deal to me. Just bc they are NB doesn’t mean they have to be attracted to other NB folks. The attraction selection in this game is just inherently binary, which sucks. It’s still good representation and doesn’t fall short to me. Ash represents nb folks, not all nb folks are pan. In the wedding stories trailer, it moreso felt like this person was closeted and came out on their wedding day. I get the whole demonization of bi folks concern, but bc her ex was at her wedding, it felt more like he was supporting her bc she was being true to herself as a lesbian? Maybe that’s just me being hopeful lmao
Those are good points! I guess I don't know many nonbinary people who are only exclusively attracted to one gender but that could just be the spaces I tend to be in. I was rethinking that while editing, like I'm sure people like Ash do exist even if they don't remind me of a lot of the nonbinary people I know
"you can draw people being gay on the werewolves fur" ahaha thats definitely for the very artistic ones. like a body paint performance. oh gosh i both want to see how good can someone draw on a werewolf in a game and also do nooot want to see this. also most of bb and cas are far reaches for queerness sadly. like stuff in the bowling pack, you have to squint and cross your eyes to see pride flag colors there. but the things that have strong queer vibes are really cool, like weird dye jobs with multiple colors (ash's hair. one of my favorite hairs in the game), dyed mullet and the absolute AMOUNT of pink-blue-white pastel clothes. and about cas strictness with binary, it is probably a really huge amount of work to significantly change it now, when the game was build with it in the base (they said just that in the orientation system release blogpost), which may not be worth it for eaxis, considering the possible loss of money from queerphobes (however, "LGBTQIA+ identities are a fact of life and not a toggle to be switched on and off" from the same blogpost. there might be a chance), plus the game maaaayyy (or may be not. idk. maybe they will only stop milking it in 2044) be reaching the end of its supported lifespan in this decade, with the new game in the progress. uh, extremely early progress, but still. we can at least hope for project rene and/or sims 5 to be build with nonbinarity in mind... even if its unlikely... but we still can hope!!

The outdoor room is Savannah's. She's a part of the gaming club with HSY or whatever it is, so she has the streamer set up. Plus the ribbons on the wall with Sydney, so I believe you are correct. Christopher confuses me because I would have thought he was bi or pan? Celeste says that she and Christopher got married in Tartosa and that she came out as trans right before they adopted Atlas and how her husband was super supportive. Obviously this is just speculation because we don't know how Celeste identified before. Also, I think Jay and Doli are the "unconventional" couple because they somewhat stand out from their own family in terms of who the Robles are. At least that's the sort of vibe they give me. Like they seem more into the now and modernization of San Sequoia. Sorta flashy, sort of more "hip". Where the Robles are more "down to earth" or hearty and all about the history of the town and their family. Sorry, this is kidna long lol. Also, I'd love to see that video about they use queerness as marketing.

Also I had the same thought about Christopher and Celeste like it seems like he should be bi. Maybe it was a situation where he realized he was straight after she came out like that does happen. Though usually it's people realizing they're gay when their partner comes out as trans because like most people assume they're straight until proven otherwise. But I think honestly they just didn't really think about it and let the game automatically fill in that information for most sims. And that makes sense about Jay and Doli cause there was supposed to be some storyline with their family, I just didn't look into it that much lol

Greg still wears the wedding ring and it’s his only article of clothing he has in his wolf form. It’s the reason why he hates vampires and why he’s so angry all the time. In my opinion the Sims community came along way over the years. When I first started playing back in 2014, there was nothing Gay about it then they slowly adding a bunch of amazing stuff in the basic game as the years went on and added more in Expansions and game packs. I'm really not a builder but after watching your videos and other Simmers, it made me happy that the Sims community added more swatches and I seen alot of Rainbow stuff and it inspired me to make a Pride Pub for a lilsimsie build challenge she did. The ffxiv references in growing together automatically makes it gayer. I choked when I saw the Hythlodaeus anime drawing on that art display. Love that purple husband guy
You missed a sim in the Growing Together pack, I can’t remember their name or their gender/pronouns but they are canonically asexual! They have the ace flag in their room and they have ace flag colored nail polish on.
The binary thing in the sims PISSES ME OFF. First, I play in french, so I guess there can be no f*ing pronouns for me. Sad emoji. I get that the grammar is complicated (and when I see that they are not even able to make "they/them" work I am scared to think about "iel" in the sims lmao) but they could at least let us choose if we prefer to use he or she, it's the bare minimum. I also get really frustrated that you have to choose between boobs and a moustache. I can't get a moustache in real life. Let me get it in the sims without having to sacrifice my boobs. I love boobs, I wanna keep boobs. The fact that the clothes look horrid when you put them on a differently framed body is also pissing me off. They should work as well for both of these. And finally, why is it that my sim has to like men in order to not exclude fellow trans people. When in reality I want them to date anybody but cis men lmao. Anyway, I guess it's better than it used to be, but I want more. (Also why are the binders not binding did I miss something?)

I would've sworn female sims could have beards. I know they can have chest hair at least (found this out by accident when I cloned one of my sims)
