Just to be clear, I never said I wanted realistic infants in the Sims 4. Some people may want complete realism but that's not my main focus with the game. I want a fun and interesting game that lets me tell stories that are inclusive of lots of different types of people
lol no. it's a great deal for PLAYERS THAT PLAY THE SIMS SO FAST. Like really. the reason why sims 4 boring BECAUSE THOSE PLAYERS PLAY IT QUICK. With cheats, with normal-short lifespan, with the neighborhood stories turn off.
tbh, a baby not liking yogurt but liking yogurt melts is exactly how normal babies work. And not eating peas and carrots as a baby but suddenly liking them later is very on brand
Totally agree! The realism seen by parents ( mother of 3 ) is uncanny! My youngest used to have to be put to sleep in my arms before I could even think of putting her in her crib ( she outgrew this stage now that she's 8 months ) and I laughed a bit that some infants have these quirks! Even the tummy time is realistic 😂
I don't have kids but I assume in real life you can do at least something even with the kid. You can use a sling or something and still wash dishes or do something on your computer, or watch tv, but in the game parent is stuck with a kid and can't do much.
@Tetiana Arnautova ironically you can't really. You can walk, but if your baby wants to sleep, the sling isn't going to be what he/she wants to sleep in because it isn't comfortable. Cooking is hard with a baby sling on because they're in the way in the front ( and back sling is only used with older childer like 12 months and up ) and you get worried of burning them... you can fold laundry? But the slings are better for walks. So still legit I.M.O
The infants are based off of real world infants. So it makes sense that you can’t put an infant in a high chair until it’s able to sit itself up. The infant hates tummy time at because in the real world a lot of infants hate tummy time initially (it’s hard at first). I think the point of the finger foods is because they’re using dexterity(?) to feed themselves. While the other options to parents are feeding them. They do eventually stop crying at tummy time and when sleeping. Also the mobile and sooth to sleep option helped my wiggly sims fall asleep. I know I plan to age my sims to toddlers immediately (I will have a cake waiting for them once i age them up from The bassinet). But challenging babies is what most of the sims community wanted and I think the sims team delivered. 💃🏽
That's fair! Honestly I thought most people just wanted their babies to be able to move around not so much a challenge, but I know people have different wants and ways of playing the game. And some people want lots of realism! In which case growing together definitely seems to deliver that
@@SimberPlays As a parent, I definitely wanted the same challenge that infants are in real life. I also appreciate that a lot of people who don't have kids yet have been shocked by realising this is the reality of parenting and it's made them sit back and really reflect on if they want kids and that IS going to prevent a lot of kids being raised by parents who weren't prepared for the reality of parenting. It's preventing traumatised kids growing up into traumatised adults and I'm here for that as a traumatised adult. The message this update gives you is "You might wanna be REALLY sure you're ready for this before you make a baby" 😂
I feel like the food preferences were realistic for growing together. I hate yogurt but I do love eating my daughters yogurt melts. Both of my kids hated tummy time and cried the whole time IRL. So that’s also realistic for me, but why have food preferences if they don’t matter? The only point in having them try food is just for the 1 milestone. After that it literally doesn’t do anything for the game. Such a missed opportunity.
Yeah I hadn't realized how much actual kids seem to hate tummy time. I mean realism is nice I guess but I don't really enjoy just watching sims cry all the time. And yeah I really don't get why they made trying food so extensive but then it doesn't even matter
@@SimberPlays I find the constant crying annoying as well. Lol maybe in an update they could fix the constant crying and add something to make the food preferences matter.
@@SilverShroudRadio This is where I start to feel like they should have made the compatibility mechanics base game, and made the infant life stage only a part of Growing Together. It would give people an option about if they even had the infant stage, but compatibility feels much more fundamental. On top of that, they could have linked expanding the compatibility options further - I've only been playing Sims 4 since the base game became free, and I haven't got an expansion yet (looking at seasons, Parenthood and maybe Outdoor retreat and High School years before I even consider Growing Together), but to my mind it would be cool if say you could buy Dine Out and it would add food tastes compatibility. The supernatural packs added the occults as likes and dislikes. Maybe Get Famous or Get Famous added likes and dislikes about crowded places, the bookworm trait added likes and dislikes about book genres...
@@neilbiggs1353 I feel the opposite. I felt the infant milestones should have came base game with infants. Better babies were such a big request especially when the game first game out and I feel like them putting the most important stuff behind a paywall was a bad choice. For those who don’t like the stage it’s easy to skip it.
@@terryberry38 You have to paywall at least some of it to cover the costs of development. If you put the milestones out for the infants, they then have to follow for all stages which is a huge amount of the pack. Cynically, given how many issues the memory system caused in TS3, I wonder if they are going to see what starts to break as Growing Together players start to get deep in to legacies - if that was all players they'd have a much bigger problem on their hands. Now, they have a limited set in a sort of public beta. The bigger problem for me though is that the Infants lean on previous packs like Parenthood. With that you are at least building the parenting skill interacting with the infants, without it, they feel like busywork in the base game
@@teebee4749 most annoying thing is, That MCCC is already updated to growing together but you cant Change the life span of infants (not included) in normal gameplays 5 days r too short and in long 20 days r way too much :( And Yea kid to young adult (or senior) feels like a loop cut they do all Time all ages the same. Sometimes the toddlers too cuz u dont need an adult 90% of the Time 😂
@@sonnenkriegerd6893that's why I turn off auto aging and just keep track of when to age them up myself. I do my own lifespan that's basically right in the middle of normal and long
Crying so *intensely* should be tied to infants traits imo. The crying is realistic to an extent. I know infants that never cry. Seriously in an year I’ve seen her cry twice as it was due to teething.
@@DaenaeraTargaryen some of us are, which is what makes this comment a great point. Some babies have colic or other issues and cry ALL THE TIME. Others, like my daughter, almost never cried. There had to be something really wrong for my daughter to cry as a baby.
Honestly the milestones and how to get there and how long it takes feels fairly realistic (I'm a mom of 3 lol) same with the foods. They could hate yogurt but love the melts cuz they are different textures and then as toddlers I've had a toddler eat EVERYTHING even though he was picky with baby foods then I've had a couple who live off of Mac and cheese and nuggets for like 2 years 😂. They also truly do cry and whine a bunch with tummy time (most of them) and tummy time is much more effective if you are involved with your baby to show them what the goals are. I personally think it was amazing how accurate a lot of these things were
Me personally: i love the infants in the expansion. I love seeing the stages they go through and having twins is way more of a challenge but also you get to see how different they can be from each other even when you do the same things to both
Haven’t played the pack yet but from the description it sounds very accurate. Infants and toddlers will change their food preferences sometimes from one day to another. As others have said tummy time does take a lot of persistence and some babies really don’t enjoy it at all.
This expansion pack would've been the perfect time to implement food preferences based on infant foods preferences. Not sure why they didn't add it as already the pack seems lacking to be an expansion pack.
@@raquelborsos8315Honestly, if they hadn't paywalled the majority of the infant update, there wouldn't be enough to make a pack that size. Maybe a couple of the cheapest and second cheapest tiers, but that's all.
it doesn't take a while to get some milestones especially if you use play mat. honestly i really like you can actually see your kid progressing and it really feels like the kid is growing. also it depends which trait your infant has, yes they will cry during tummy time but my infant had a calm trait and she was crying just time to time. the growing together pack add some more realism to the game especially if you play with families and generations 🌸
My problem with infants is that they don't have anything with parenthood. So if a new player decides to start playing the game. They going to be confused on why they going to have to buy two packs to get parenting things for all life stages. I think base game infants are fine. Some people are not family players and don't want to do much work for infants. For example, I don't want all that extra work to take care of an infant. I barely like toddlers.
True they don't do much for cross pack features. Yeah I don't necessarily think this pack is for everyone, more for the people who like family gameplay and want a challenge
The changing table's code is in the base game which means you can get basegame compatible cc if you want one (It was probably originally supposed to be base game)
I actually really like the growth stages of infants in the expansion pack. I DO however think the speed at which they learn things needs to be increased. By the time I can enjoy my infant crawling and playing, they grow up in 1 day…
For sure waiting for the pack to go on sale bc ya girl is broke but it definitely comes in handy to have laundry day because the diaper will just go into the hamper right away when using cloth diapers
Babies not being able to have fun is strange and dystopian whose idea was this have they met a baby. Ones ive met know how to laugh before they know how how to crap their pants strange choice
I've played with four infants so far, one during base game and the other three with Growing Together. I kinda had more fun with GT infants rather than base game, i enjoy the challenge of trying to develop as many milestones and also trying out all the food they can even though I'm pretty sure it's impossible to do it all on any lifespan besides long or turning aging off. Although i was really hoping to get more out of Infants the more milestones and better upbringing they have, something to make the rest of their lives better like when you get all toddler skills up enough they can increase skill gains for the rest of their life, something like that. Instead all they get is a moodlet buff every now and then. I like infants, both base game and GT, but i was kinda expecting a bit more overall
Great video! I agree that not putting at least one changing table in base game was a weird choice and I’m personally annoyed that we didn’t get strollers or cars for teens to learn to drive like in sims 3 generations
Tummy time gives me headaches, before growing together my infant did all fine like you mentioned, but after that tummy time really is really getting on my nerves, i get what you're feeling, also they can get their fun stat up real quick when they watch at objects, paintings works really well. Well done vid, i subscribed!
Infant skills don't exist because infant milestones cover the same progression aspect but in a more variable nuanced way. But I do like being able to just... do things, right away... with just the base game
The code for changing tables are actually in the base game, so there are some cc that are base game compatible to work around that paywall, I think the best I've seen that is maxis match is called boho baby or something like that. I think it's incredibly cashgrabby of EA to make the changing table for base game but putting a paywall on them with the expansion pack
I’m a new subscriber thanks for the detailed information and the comparison. I’ve decided to take your advice and wait for this to go on sale. As I honestly feel this is coming across as a game pack and not an expansion. I look forward to seeing more of your videos in the future 😊
I'm glad the video was helpful! Yeah I rarely feel like expansion packs are actually worth the full price, and recently they have often felt more like game packs
I have the pack and honestly, a lot of the content should've been base game. They literally pay-walled the majority of the infant game-play and items to fill out a pack that otherwise wouldn't be a pack of that price tier. Without it, infants feel incomplete and I lost interest quickly. Not to mention the fact they didn't even give us a crib for a lot of the pack-specific toddler beds like the Werewolves one
Yeah I had just the update infants. And watching the new gameplay with the Growing Together pack, I couldn’t play just with base game anymore. I had to have the pack for more realism and challenge. Yes it’s harder and they cry a fair bit. But that’s so normal!
i really enjoy the milestones the infants have to go through in order to do things like crawling. in my game, tummy time isn't much of a hassle, i just do it with them for an hour or two in between naps. and they also gain milestones from looking at toys & playing with toys on the playmat.
Everything you said you hate about growing together, is what I absolutely love, because it makes them more real and I love watching them grow up and lean new things and reaching their milestone😊
The fun thing in changing tables is that some modders find out they are actually bgc! So there are soke bgc changing table cc that allow you to change diaper on them
There has to be a way to keep the baby from crying so much that hasn’t been figured out..🤞🏾like the trick to keep your kid from nightmares or monsters is to have a night light
It took me about ten minutes real time of tummy time to realize that they were meant to cry the whole time. I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with the infant 😅 Also, the back carriers irritate me because in my opinion you should also be able to put a toddler in one.
Toddlers absolutely need back carriers. Having had children in real life, back carrying a toddler makes life SO much easier, especially when they're clingy! Also it bothers me that there isn't an option to use a front carrier and that it's not autonomous. If a Sim is holding a baby and you direct them to do something, they should automatically put the baby into it if they can use one during that thing. Two hands are necessary! Especially using the toilet with an infant!
Lmbo, these growing together infants sound incredibly realistic. My babygirl is 15 weeks today and yes, she hates tummy time and cries the whole time, can't sit or hold her head up and we need to tend to her 24/7. The foods thing made me laugh too. Yes some babies dislike yogurt but will like yogurt melts. Will have certain food preferences and when they get older it changes and has no impact on their lives. Very, very realistic.
Realism yes. However EA has a tendency of overdoing it. The sims doesn't do well with realism. Pets are one example. They are pretty realistic but a sim day is too short and the animations takes too long. We need a good balance.
Bro I made the mistake of starting the 100 baby challenge after getting the growing together pack and had twins and another baby right after and had three infants at the same time💀 it’s incredibly difficult to take care of all of them AND the mom sim. Moms passing out every two minutes cuz she don’t get no sleep😵💫
I just started playing the expansion today and my sim had two babies close enough for them to infants at the same time for a while. Oh my god. I swear no one's getting any actual sleep in that house, and they're always fun deprived lol. Just making sure everyone's fed all the time is such a hassle It's worth mentioning I always play with mods and cheats to make the gameplay easier and quicker, but I decided to avoid it for this save. This feels like an actual challenge. Also, my sim just found out they're pregnant again so oh boy
I think milestones are supposed to kind of be like skills. But it’s a weird decision to me to call them something else even though they basically work like skills! Anyway thanks for the information! I already got Growing Together because I won it in a contest, but I do wish you could toggle the milestones off and on so you don’t have to all that tummy time with every single Sims baby! I guess my Sims game just got a lot harder!! 😂
The game even sort of treats them like skills but to my mind they're pretty different because they're not based on a number haha. Ooh congrats on winning the contest!
To be honest I don't understand why everyone is gushing about the growing together pack, I initially wanted it cos I had heard it was supposed to improve family gameplay but everything in this pack genuinely seems like it makes the game worse rather than better, it is the only pack that I genuinely now want to avoid like the plague! It's a shame cos I like some of the items and CAS stuff and the new world looks decent and some gameplay features are okay but most of the new gameplay features look like more a hindrance than a help and yeah the infants especially seem so much worse with this pack than without it! I want to see my cute infants crawling around and sitting at the high chair not just lying lumps on the floor! Yeah okay having them go through milestones is technically more "realistic" but given that there's still a time limit to how long they'll stay infants (if you have aging on) then you could literally never do tummy time with your infants, have them just stay on the floor and then eventually they'll just age up into a toddler anyway that can already walk around! I personally think the experience of having infants is actually improved by not having this pack but I am someone that really isn't bothered about sims being realistic personally
Infants can do tummy time by themselves after they learn I think it was both roll over to back and stomach, but I'm not completely sure if it's just h those two or one other. I usually have Infants do tummy time by themselves after they can
I was just thinking this. I can’t remember either which one they need to complete before they can do it on their own. I spent hours on it yesterday and still can’t remember lol. I’m really liking this pack.
Yeah I think they have to learn to roll over to their back and roll over to their stomach first but it still takes a really long time in my opinion. And I don't think they can learn to sit up or stand on their own? Which I think is weird because when they do learn to stand it's pulling to stand on a couch
That was very informative! To be honest, you convinced me to put off buying the pack for a small bit - I hope there will be a balancing patch in a future shortening tummy time if it's such a chore
Yeah I wouldn't mind it if it only took one or two tummy times for each milestone. I get that in real life it takes a while but this is the sims pregnancy takes 3 days lol
Ooff I totally agree with you!! This is way too much for a fun game l, specially with the crying thing hahaha. It may look similar IRL but damn, this is the Sims. They fall in love with flirting a bit 😂
I love the lowkey outrage in this video because I abhor the new update. I already disliked babies and toddlers and now there is a whole new, absolutely retched life stage in between! I did consider the new pack only because I like the new objects, but this video was super helpful. Def won't be getting it since you have to train the children to do anything -.-. Thank you for the heads up!

This will add back the House Invasion again with this feature! Crime can move around depending on the news channel, mail, or phone. These Sims become tense when talking about adding new addition to the family and reject any way of having kids. Sims gain a +2 Negatives Moodlet when having or being near children.
Thank you so much for this! Honestly, so far I haven’t seen anything about this pack that makes me want to buy it. The only way I would is if I had a good gaming computer and extra cash to waste.
No baby likes tummy time so I think its funny how realistic it is. :P my youngest is 8 months and she still doesn't like playing on her belly that much! So I think the sims did it really well. Even the addition of finger foods, it may not do much?, but it adds to the realism and I can guarantee if they didn't add it some modder would have complaining they should have added it. 😂
@@SimberPlays I don't have the pack yet but I feel like this kind of gameplay would get really tedious. I can't see myself doing all this milestone stuff for every child I have ever and I hope there's cheats or perhaps a mod to cheat the milestones at some point.
I wish they included the milestone cheats..I love playing with them but sometimes I don't want it to take an infant's entire lifespan before they can crawl
2:24 tastebuds change, I apparently likes eggs as a baby but now I hate them, and the yogurt thing could be texture, I don't like mushrooms for their texture 🥚🍳🍄
I think they should've made it so parents could walk away during tummy time, and the infants should be able to nap down there as well. But the other stuff seems valid
Still watching. The baby carrier sucks 😂. They should definitely be able to be hands free with it on. And there should def be food likes and dislikes and changing tables.
the infants can do tummy time on their own once they learn to raise their heads, roll over to back and roll over to stomach but it takes a really long time
My game lets me do other things while using the baby carrier. As long as it's a standing or walking activity. Cleaning up. Walking around etc. But if I go sit down , they immediately put baby on the floor
My game won't let me make food or repair things or paint which I feel like should be standing or walking activities? But maybe I was just trying the wrong things
@@SimberPlays possibly. Idk I don't understand infants yet 😂. Do you have growing together? Bc that's why I'm confused. I only started playing with Infants once I got the expansion. So idk what's basegame and what's not. My sim does put the baby down out the carrier a lot tho. I just put them back and then do another task. I think if you cant do it during painting , maybe its because it's a focus task. And it's not like an automated task they can stop themselves.
@@nyquitacharles9146 Yeah that's what this video is about! I talked about what features are base game and what features are from Growing Together because I played with both
Your video was a pop up I'm glad I opened it I also saw a different simmer video and have come to realize that the Expansion Pack Growing Together isn't worth me buying it....thank you for sharing your opinion.... I'm also not a player of infants so this helped...
I was thinking about getting this for the cas items as base game infant cas sucks but my laptop is garbage so I can’t get cc. Think I’m going to hold off until there is a sale on both it and the parent hood pack and just get both of them. Only reason I don’t have parenthood is having to be responsible for how the kids grow up
Yeah I don't think I'd get it for the cas unless it's on sale. Ive made infants with base game and the pack and I dont really think there's a huge difference. If you do decide you want parenthood for other reasons there's honestly not much risk of them getting a bad trait accidentally. Things stay pretty neutral unless you try to get a certain trait, aside from responsibility. It's kind of frustrating actually haha
My littlest nephew HATES tummy time. My mom and I did it with him the other day and he rolled over once and then kept trying to roll over but quickly started screaming. I told her to keep him on there another minute because he was so close and doing great and she said okay, but then he got super mad and it took her 5 minutes to calm him down. Whoops. Probably shouldn’t take advice from someone who doesn’t know anything about kids 😅
Thank goodness for mods! I downloaded one last night that slows the infant needs decay 🥹 and I also saw one with FULLY FUNCTIONAL BASE GAME CHANGING TABLES. I didn’t download because I was given the pack as a birthday present, but I may change my mind because they also have the ones that stick out from the wall and fold out. 😮
I'm holding off from buying the new pack mostly because I think it seems to make the infants more annoying... Kinda same as with the wedding pack... my game will never see that one...
yep same I will never get the wedding pack. I'm glad I got to play a bit with the base game infants and it's kind of sad I won't really be able to again, though I think there's maybe a way to disable certain packs?
i had one kid in sims and became insanely stressed so i think i'll pass on this for now 😂😂 i've tried to avoid babies in my games but i'd love the milestones feature
With all the controversy over this pack about how infants are implicated in the game (along with my refusal to put anymore $ into this game) I updated my game then immediately started playing Sims 3 again.
Yes i think base game infants are so much better easy not in getting together too much work😢 i do want get the pack for treehouse and bikes world puzzles but worried of the infants change 😢
i love this! i was JUST wondering this :O p.s my irl infant actually loved lemons when he tried them for the first time 😂 plus tummy time is usually a great time for actual infants so it think i dumb they made the tummy time in game torture 💀
As a true gamer™, I've literally never had a sim with a baby but all these challenging changes makes it sound appealing to do. (I'm kidding about the "True Gamer" stuff by the way. I'm not a gatekeeper. Play however you want)
I dont have the dlc for this And Ill say one thing. after having first twins as infants I decided to not care about those infants and only sometimes feed them. Worked.
I didn’t mind your opinion on the Infants I found it quite interesting listening to other player’s opinions that great for my sense of perspective. I don’t think my thumb down is negative but I loved your opinion thank you 🙏 😊 Love you page will subscribe when I finish watching you play lists as your a wonderful creator ❤
Honestly... Unpopular opinion, but infants are my least favorite life stage. They are so annoying and I don't have growing together so they are basically just meat sacs that you need to keep alive until you age them up into a toddler. (They are cute but so aggravating.)
Infants *can* do tummy time by themselves (or maybe by a certain point?). You can click on them to do tummy time or get a toy, for example. Other than that...I just want to stab my eyes with a fork. I will never do babies again. The parents had to quit their jobs. The freelancing doesn't work out because the baby requires so much attention. The parents just talk to each other or play video games. (Maybe I have to keep clicking on them to "check infant," and eventually they will get into the habit?) 😭😭😭And we still have the stupid musical chair with the high chair - one parent puts the kid in; the other parent immediately takes the kid out.
I have yet to buy the pack, so I greatly appreciate your comparison video! I'm disappointed about what you say about the inability to do things while the baby is in the back carrier - as that is totally unrealistic. When my children were babies, I wore them in carriers non-stop to be able to do basic tasks around the house etc. I hope someone can make a mod that reflects the realities of baby-wearing.
because i wanted to have a perfect childhood, i just locked the mother in a small room with every possible thing an infant needs and just forced the mother to play and feed and do tummy time until i had every milestone, i just disabled need decay for everyone so i didn’t have to deal with the bullshit 😭 and there’s a milestone for like first friend so i chose the first friend to be judith ward cuz she kidnapped my infant on the street and just kissed and hugged it (i think it’s her soft spot, kinda weird tho).
Lol I had to keep cheating to refill needs because I was trying to get every milestone and I was like, how would you even do this without cheats, especially on normal life span!
Just to be clear, I never said I wanted realistic infants in the Sims 4. Some people may want complete realism but that's not my main focus with the game. I want a fun and interesting game that lets me tell stories that are inclusive of lots of different types of people
So if you're commenting to say I'm hypocritical for not liking realistic infants or something idk who you're talking about, please don't.
I like realism in the sims but idk I feel like the pack goes too far but maybe that's because I've gotten used to them being able to do these things.
A parent definitely made this, the baby phase is SO realistic 😂
Haha that's what I've been hearing!
Haha Yea but i like them now the most and all other Ages are boring
I was just about to comment that myself!
It is. They had real babies record their movements.
They capture the "omg, they're so cute but I too need to eat, sleep and have some fucking fun for myself you know?" really well
I think the infants in Growing Together are a great birth control because I'm not having another any time soon 😂
lol they are very daunting
Lol I didn’t bother having them before. Had one of my sims slip up & I literally got a mod to send it off to daycare 10 hours at a time 😂😂
Oh my god yes! I usually have 6 or 7 children, but even since this update I want only 2 max. Infants are so stressful.
lol no.
it's a great deal for PLAYERS THAT PLAY THE SIMS SO FAST.
Like really. the reason why sims 4 boring BECAUSE THOSE PLAYERS PLAY IT QUICK.
With cheats, with normal-short lifespan, with the neighborhood stories turn off.
Lady, my sim having the fertile trait was a mistake. Ended up with twins. 🫠
tbh, a baby not liking yogurt but liking yogurt melts is exactly how normal babies work. And not eating peas and carrots as a baby but suddenly liking them later is very on brand
Its like how some people dont like tomatoes but they like ketchup
aka me ☠️
True. Also, kids can grow out of disliking certain foods
As a mom of a child who falls asleep in my arms, this is an accurate portrayal. I can tell people who put this together are parents.
That’s what I like! I want the gameplay to be realistic even if the infants drive me insane, it just makes it go much funner to be realistic
@@VennessaFudge I see, thanks for explanation, then the game did it pretty realistically 😅
In which case growing together definitely seems to deliver that
@@SimberPlays Yeah I’m team easy babies. It didn’t bother me that babies were objects. The infants are cute but it’s like way too much for me. 😂
@@janniegurl05 dude I totally get that, but I’m on team realism even if they drive me insane😂
@@mockingjay478 haha I already knew I didn't really want to raise an infant but you're right this is good information for people to have!
I like the infants in growing together because they actually feel like they're growing up and getting older
I like That age now the most, all other are boring as hell now 😂
@@sonnenkriegerd6893 ikr! 😂😂 They feel stuck at the same age the whole lifespan

Crying so *intensely* should be tied to infants traits imo.
The crying is realistic to an extent. I know infants that never cry. Seriously in an year I’ve seen her cry twice as it was due to teething.
Yeah I don't think every infant should cry every time they try to go to sleep or do tummy time
Dude you were blessed with that child
@@SimberPlays easy for you to say I babysit my younger cousin and he is hard just like infants in this game 😂
I personally think it was amazing how accurate a lot of these things were
This is going to change the 100 baby challenge DRASTICALLY 😂😂😂
I am playing through it now and it's hard!
i tried... only got to 5 infants and gave up lol
LMFAOO nah im quitting😭
Me personally: i love the infants in the expansion. I love seeing the stages they go through and having twins is way more of a challenge but also you get to see how different they can be from each other even when you do the same things to both
Haven’t played the pack yet but from the description it sounds very accurate. Infants and toddlers will change their food preferences sometimes from one day to another. As others have said tummy time does take a lot of persistence and some babies really don’t enjoy it at all.
I do think that’s the one thing the Sims is still missing is preferences regarding food
Currently, the only food preference that effect the game is “vegetarian” but that’s a trait
This expansion pack would've been the perfect time to implement food preferences based on infant foods preferences. Not sure why they didn't add it as already the pack seems lacking to be an expansion pack.
@Raquel Borsos watch that they make a game pack to go with the expansion that does this just so they can milk more.
That's a pity about the back carrier. I was pretty excited about being able to carry a baby around while doing things.
When ea announced they were doing infants they literally said only think they’re included in the update is Infants nothing more nothing less
There's more than just two packs, too.
Parenthood, Growing Together, Toddler Stuff, Kids' Room and probably one or two I'm forgetting.
The changing table's code is in the base game which means you can get basegame compatible cc if you want one (It was probably originally supposed to be base game)
I actually really like the growth stages of infants in the expansion pack. I DO however think the speed at which they learn things needs to be increased. By the time I can enjoy my infant crawling and playing, they grow up in 1 day…
agreed
For sure waiting for the pack to go on sale bc ya girl is broke but it definitely comes in handy to have laundry day because the diaper will just go into the hamper right away when using cloth diapers
Does laundry day work for you? Every time I've tried to do it recently the dryers will just stop working
@@SimberPlays hmm I wonder whats going on because mine has been working fine (thankfully) hopefully it gets fixed soon
CDKey girl, save $9
@@SimberPlays it does that in my game too! Or it will seems to work but the clothes will still be dirty/wet after it...

Babies not being able to have fun is strange and dystopian whose idea was this have they met a baby. Ones ive met know how to laugh before they know how how to crap their pants strange choice
it is very weird! They actually do learn to smile as soon as they age up but apparently they can't have fun
I wish they would have added in bouncers, swings, fall asleep in carrier, give pacifier.
Idc how much Growing Together changes things in the game, I ain’t paying 40 dollars for something that should’ve been free
Tummy time gives me headaches, before growing together my infant did all fine like you mentioned, but after that tummy time really is really getting on my nerves, i get what you're feeling, also they can get their fun stat up real quick when they watch at objects, paintings works really well. Well done vid, i subscribed!
Thank you! Yeah tummy time is really the worst lol
Thank you for this video! I have been seeing reviews and it was hard to tell what was for the base game and what was from the pack. ❤
I'm glad it was helpful!
I made a separate family for the infant update and I like it so far! My main family will be waiting until it’s on sale.
I feel a bit disappointed that toddlers and childen can't really interact with infants unless you have the pack :(
Hmm I think they can still talk with them and stuff right? Is the entertain interaction only with the pack?
Everything you said you hate about growing together, is what I absolutely love, because it makes them more real and I love watching them grow up and lean new things and reaching their milestone😊
I'm glad you are enjoying it!
i want growing together for the family interactions but I dont want the infant extra work hahaha, maybe I'll buy it in a few years when its 50%
The fun thing in changing tables is that some modders find out they are actually bgc! So there are soke bgc changing table cc that allow you to change diaper on them
There has to be a way to keep the baby from crying so much that hasn’t been figured out..🤞🏾like the trick to keep your kid from nightmares or monsters is to have a night light
THANK YOU FOR THIS, I didn’t know abt nightlight!!!!!!! 😮🥹🥹🥹 ur the best
@@xazulex442I didn't know this either. I would just have my kids sleep in adult beds so I don't have to deal with the monsters.😂
that night light trick eluded me for years. I was so frustrated with nightmares. But you must have a certain nightlight.
I really loved having babies in the sims. This is making me explore the other options in game. Just like in real life, haha
It took me about ten minutes real time of tummy time to realize that they were meant to cry the whole time. I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with the infant 😅
Also, the back carriers irritate me because in my opinion you should also be able to put a toddler in one.
I like the challenge. I love this pack so much! I finally have a pack I actually love.
That's awesome!
sometimes simmers confuse me, cuz do you want challange and realism or not 😭
Everyone is different! It's nice to have a balance between challenge and realism
Yeah I have been trying to do the same and my sim keeps passing out too lol
We also had three infants at once
I just started playing the expansion today and my sim had two babies close enough for them to infants at the same time for a while. Oh my god. I swear no one's getting any actual sleep in that house, and they're always fun deprived lol. Just making sure everyone's fed all the time is such a hassle
It's worth mentioning I always play with mods and cheats to make the gameplay easier and quicker, but I decided to avoid it for this save.
You can do standing activities with the baby in the carrier - i was able to do some cooking and pick up dishes once the baby fell asleep...
that's weird it wouldn't let me do most of that
i feel like with babies the update shouldve included the infant preferences now and keep them since infanthood like with actual kids
My daughter hated tummy time so that aspect is realistic. On the other hand… my sim just had twins and I’m not ready for the infants life stage.

Thanks for doing this comparison video.
To me it sounds like BaseGame Infants are the better ones lol
Yk um it’s super realistic to an actual baby . The baby is supposed to be difficult bc babies are difficult
This honestly all sounds like a chore and I don' wanna do it LOL

those sound like good mods!
There are matching furniture pieces in separate packs all of the time
My infant loved lemon. I was surprised.
i had one kid in sims and became insanely stressed so i think i'll pass on this for now 😂😂 i've tried to avoid babies in my games but i'd love the milestones feature
SUPER helpful comparison, thank you!
I'm glad it was helpful!
With all the controversy over this pack about how infants are implicated in the game (along with my refusal to put anymore $ into this game) I updated my game then immediately started playing Sims 3 again.
Yes i think base game infants are so much better easy not in getting together too much work😢 i do want get the pack for treehouse and bikes world puzzles but worried of the infants change 😢
i love this! i was JUST wondering this :O
p.s my irl infant actually loved lemons when he tried them for the first time 😂 plus tummy time is usually a great time for actual infants so it think i dumb they made the tummy time in game torture 💀
it's funny I've also had people say that real infants hate tummy time lol. Real infants vary a lot I guess!
As a true gamer™, I've literally never had a sim with a baby but all these challenging changes makes it sound appealing to do. (I'm kidding about the "True Gamer" stuff by the way. I'm not a gatekeeper. Play however you want)
I'd give kudos for how realistic they made this life stage, but as a parent who plays sims for fun I'd much rather they just..didn't do that >
all i gotta say is, thats how infants works irl. they need adult supervision
that's fair
I WAS WONDERING ABOUT THIS QUESTION MY SELF. I GOT THE GAME BUT HAVENT PLAYED MUCH YET
I love the base game infants as well. It’s realistic
I dont have the dlc for this And Ill say one thing. after having first twins as infants I decided to not care about those infants and only sometimes feed them. Worked.
I didn’t mind your opinion on the Infants I found it quite interesting listening to other player’s opinions that great for my sense of perspective. I don’t think my thumb down is negative but I loved your opinion thank you 🙏 😊
Love you page will subscribe when I finish watching you play lists as your a wonderful creator ❤
Thanks for this video. It was the most informative of all I've watched.
I'm glad it was informative!
My toddler literally did the hold onto couch thing after just 2 tummy times, I guess every toddler's is different (mine's wiggly)
Wow that's impressive!
No honestly cus before infants I would just pop them out but now!? Ima waiting til my toddler ages up to a teenager before I have another lmao
I was on the fence about getting this pack. After watching this video, I'll pass. Thanks for saving me money!
I'm glad it was helpful!
I agree that infants should be able to sit up and learn to crawl a lot faster. The milestones are fun but way to slow to develop
3:39 I mean... That sounds like a real baby Lol
After a few times of tummy time the infant can hold head up and roll over and then they can do tummy time on their own
Yeah that's true! I just wish it happened faster. Like for me that took at least 10 tummy times I think
As someone who doesn’t want kids, I was never excited for infants 😅😬
TOTALLY agreed!
because i wanted to have a perfect childhood, i just locked the mother in a small room with every possible thing an infant needs and just forced the mother to play and feed and do tummy time until i had every milestone, i just disabled need decay for everyone so i didn’t have to deal with the bullshit 😭 and there’s a milestone for like first friend so i chose the first friend to be judith ward cuz she kidnapped my infant on the street and just kissed and hugged it (i think it’s her soft spot, kinda weird tho).
Lol I had to keep cheating to refill needs because I was trying to get every milestone and I was like, how would you even do this without cheats, especially on normal life span!
