Cluster boxes, as these are called are purchased, repaired and maintained by the condo association or property management company, NOT the post office. The post office is only responsible for delivering the mail. I discovered that the post office will change the lock for about $25.00, but one must show ID proving you are the owner or rentor of the property. In this case, it was my out of state neighbor's property that he decided to rent, but had lost the key. He would have had to send notarized copies of ownership and a notarized letter authorizing it to be changed which would have taken time and the new rentors were moving in before it could be done. The method shown DID NOT damage the box door, a door which wasn't post office property to begin with.

Thank you so much man, my girl gotta stalker and he lives across from her alone in the other unit. His face up against the window, staring at her in bed, she saw him, turned off phone, and he stared at her for 30 more seconds before running away. She calls me at 1:30am and I head over quickly. Tell her to pack up, we're leaving, your not safe here alone. With the lights on she's packing in her bedroom. This dumbass sits in the corner of window, waiting for her to lay back down for a second time btw (but I'm there). I told her show me the perspective you had of this guy. I sit on the bed, she hits the lights off, and I see him directly and he sees me and takes off quickly. Its scary stuff. So now I'm buying a Ring camera, set it up to send 24/7 vid to my phone for 3$ a month thru Amazon (with a motion detector. Ganna hid it in her bed, test the cam quality, keep her bathroom light on, and open the blinds up so he can peak thru and make sure the cam can catch him. Cops can't do anything without video proof and the only reason to use cops is to get her out of a 2200$ lease agreement. 🙄 apartment management is sus until cops show up with video of the situation.
Also ganna break the lock without her knowing on his apartment mail box, grab his mail and head home to research his name. I know he's the guy because there was one scenario where he knocked on the door (he's about 20-24 years old btw) thinkin she's there. I see him head down, hoodie up thru the fish eye of the door. I say "what do you want", he says in a childish voice "can you take me to school" (this is creepy like a grown man trying to play off as a kid so she will open the door), and I say "nope sorry man". She had many other situations of him that she told me last night, while this all happened. I didn't think anything of how creepy he was, because I didn't think people tried to stalk girls to rob, beat, and rape them. But now I see this is very serious and worry about whoever will live across from him, in my girl's 1 bedroom unit. He'd probably do the same, and I won't risk it.
For anyone who care is was a 14 year old boy who's parents left him to live by himself, because they couldn't deal with him. He tried to break opening the window while I'm sitting there with a shotgun and I yelled "I gotta gun" and he ran away. The Dad's a piece of shit btw; we caught the kid with the cops help, but they brought him to the parents and he's still living alone in that apartment unit, with a slap on the wrist. So now we finally got her moved out. Lol
What if the key just won't go in the lock? My key was getting stuck. Now it won't even go halfway into the lock. I sprayed with WD 40. I tried to push in the key and it stops before it's halfway, like something is blocking it.

Thank you, after an 18 hour drive to move in and they say wait for a mail man then replace the lock he gives you. No. I am exhausted. I took lock off and replaced it.
Break it? No. It will cause the latch to bend that allows for the lock to latch on the interior of frame. Hope this helps clear up the question you had 🙂
One thing I'm curious about is..did you have permission from the Post Office to do this? Otherwise, I may be wrong but, I think this would be a crime to damage and break in to Government property.
so we move in to a new house and for some reason the last owner didn't give us a key so, now i have to put my hand into the hole of the mailbox and try get the mail and yes i do have a small arm/hand but now im getting bigger
Jesus idk why I didn't think of this, I just moved in and it's been a month, the owners office is closed cause of COVID they don't answer calls, we got a "mailbox" key but it wasn't actually that, it was a pool gate key. I've had to be stalking for the mailman for a week now, haven't even seen them at all. 3hrs staight outside in my car next to the mailboxes. Waste of time but I didn't know what else to do (I thought maybe drill it? Lock pick it? I don't have a drill but I was thinking of buying one, and I doubt I can pick it because my tension wrench isn't a good one it'll take up the whole key entry and block me from picking). All I wanna do now is really just change my damn lock.

Lol
Now can you close the box with the same lock?
Will a tire iron work?Lost my key and have no hammer.Need to get to my mail ASAP!!!
Lost my mail box key and finally got in to get my mail 💪🏽
So after this you need to place a new lock ???
Thank you so much, this really worked!
My new controller for Xbox is coming in and I wanna know if the lock will be fine and be able to shut and reuse it again I lost the key
Does this break the lock?
Thanks a lot. Very informative.
Thank you so much for the video
I’m definitely going to try this thanks
What size screw driver is that
Where can I purchase a new mailbox lock??
What if the key just won't go in the lock? My key was getting stuck. Now it won't even go halfway into the lock. I sprayed with WD 40. I tried to push in the key and it stops before it's halfway, like something is blocking it.
Merci! Après avoir bien bien forcé avec un marteau arrache clou payé 11 euros j'ai fait sauter ma serrure de boîte aux lettres! Il faut insister longtemps mais ça marche! Merci ! N'hésitez pas à cogner (surtout les filles). Victoire!
🤩😍😍
Thank you for this!
Thanks! It worked very well !
Thanks so much for your help
What size is the lock? I need replace mine is it 3/4
You are genius .
Thank you, after an 18 hour drive to move in and they say wait for a mail man then replace the lock he gives you. No. I am exhausted. I took lock off and replaced it.
he said "informational"..... fuck yeah, man. fuck yeah.
Will this break the lock entirely?
Break it?
I mean , I guess it's fine if you put a now lock afterward
RUclips bans plugging a magazine into a rifle or putting on a suppressor. But educating people how to commit mail fraud is A-OK. :)
I dont know weither to say if this is legal or illegal?😓😕
so we move in to a new house and for some reason the last owner didn't give us a key so, now i have to put my hand into the hole of the mailbox and try get the mail and yes i do have a small arm/hand but now im getting bigger
Not Now I'm Getting Bigger 😂🤣😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Time to grab my report card before my parents get it
🤣😂😂🤣😂😂😂🤣😂😂🤣😂😂🤣
this really helps. thank you for this vid. :)
Do I have to give a new key to delivery after changing the lock?
Try calling the post office. You pay the fee unless it's your first lock. They will replace it for free.
Again !! How do you take off the old lock ??
Pull the little retainer tab off and it comes straight out
Or there'll be a nut on the back
People will probably think you're breaking into them I'd rather go through the trouble if getting help or a key replacement 🤣🤣
Criminals: write that down write that down
does it break it
