The carrier changed the wrong lock. Sometimes this happens. Clerks or even carriers will make this mistake. She shouldn't have been charged.

This shouldn't be news.. who cares about her being charged.. she didn't need to waste the time on the news when there is waaay more bigger stuff going on in the world. She just had to call the help line and "act" REAL ANGRY.. or when the mail people get jammed up with her mail they will fix it for free. You gotta make thing hard for the people making your life harder. It's the only language people understand now is "tit for tat" kind of language. That gets people in shape real quick.😂. Or a "one man" mail pickup strike would work also...they have to get those flyers and bills in our hands somehow..😂

Same i had problem too where i live.. i lived here since october still can't get anyone to fix the lock and postal office wants me to pay for new lock still no lock replaced no way to get mail unless i catch them at the box
I have the same problem in Kentwood MI
I believe the post office changed my lock via request of my office because I didn't.want to tell them where we were moving after being asked more than 5 times within 2 minutes.

The property manager should have the super change the lock..they have locks for when tenants movd out theyre changed out

Did a thief jammed her box on purpose, she might have to rent a P.o. Box.
Post Office owns the box, if it is defective; they should replace it for free because she didn't damage the mailbox.
It was defective for a long time.
Field maintenance change these locks. It’s not the carrier's job, it’s not the supervisor's job to change this lock.
This is customer lock, theyre easy fix if we have the lock to switch out ourselfs. But they have variety, different size and types of locks. If we don’t have the parts. It could takes months for whoever above retail manager to approve the budget for us to order the locks.
Whenever they put on the wrong lock for the apartment key keeper or the blue mail box. They become useless and need to be switch out.
Super easy to drill it out yourself. I just did. You can install the new lock in a few minutes. Also, you can call a locksmith.
fedderal government at its finest! This is federal government property and you must work with post office for this situation
This is my experience right now. Except it’s been changed 8 times in the last 2 months. Now I’m getting suspicious.
Tamper with Federal property and you go to jail! Love America.
