A friend of mine wrote to me about the Asbury revival I believe God hears the persistent , desperate cries of His people to visit us mightily in this generation. He does not disregard our prayers. There is a generation of young people out there who are lonely, confused, desperate, and so ripe for a move of God. Time, as Gamaliel said, will tell. I do believe God is in this somehow. We will see where it goes. Praying for the knowledge of Him to cover the earth! Praying nothing will be allowed to subvert or adulterate the work of His Holy Spirit. Praying for spiritual protection on these young ones coming now to faith in Jesus. Hoping to see an overflowing harvest of souls, and a rekindling of the hearts of His people everywhere. Including me!

Great point about persistent prayer. Very very true. Those that really want more of God will be persistent and never doubt in prayer until God shows up. The presence of God is more than enough.
Sadly the world seems to be as Jesus described ancient Israel " Sheep without a shepherd " . The spiritual abuse in many churches has contributed to much of the pain and darkness . I hope that this is different .
Totally agree with you. So happy that God is moving amongst the young people. The adults need to step aside and stop interjection their opinions, they should pray and let Holy Spirit continue what He, and only He has started. Revival is a personal thing and we have been praying for years for it. First comes revival of God's people then awakening of the lost.
Asbury is experiencing an encounter with the Holy Spirit. In 2014 my very small congregation experienced the same in kind. It changed all of us and set me on the path towards ministry.
I attended two days. Friday and Saturday. Days 10 and 11. I believe I saw an outpouring of the Holy Spirt. I heard many prayers and testimonies of repentance. I saw 5000+ on their knees joining in repentance prayer. I understand skeptics (doubters) wanting to be discerning but I would encourage naysayers to tread with caution. Acts 5: 38 Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. 39 But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.”
I appreciate you reminding me of this Scripture. I have been skeptical because there has not been a purposeful declaration of the Gospel (Repentance and Grace) by leadership - at least not what I've seen via myriads of videos. This repentance should have happened at this school 2 years ago when Asbury had to dismiss two professors for being gay! That was when the student body should have hit their knees! The present student body is leaning heavily to see the school go modern as in being LGTBQ friendly! Google it for the truth!
If one’s hungry for God and tired of sin salvation is near. I got saved on my way to get cigarettes at the liquor store! Passing by a “church” I looked into the gym. Two guys shooting baskets. Suddenly a man was standing behind me(it was night). Next thing I know we’re in his office and I’m on my knees praying that my sins be forgiven. He was the pastor. I cried and confessed I’m sorry for my sinful lifestyle. Don’t remember how much time went by but when I walked back to my apartment I was a changed young lady and on a “high” spiritual experience lasting for 3 days! People knew something had happened to me. Joyful and peaceful

I think that the critics are missing the point! Have you any time to spend in the presence of God right now? I did that and have had a very real awakening of his spirit calling me higher! I have given up alcohol thru this! I am being renewed in my heart for the things he has called me to! That is conviction! Jesus has time for this?? Why not you?
I grew up in a cult called Worldwide Church of God ( WCG) and still came to a saving knowledge of Jesus. Later when the church came into New Covenant theology I and many others rejoiced but many did not and left for splinter groups holding to old WCG teachings. Unfortunately, WCG became filled with hyper grace doctrine and I and my wife had to leave it. A scripture that comes to mind is Philippians 1:6. He who begun a good work in you will complete it unto the day of Jesus Christ. If God started a real saving faith in some of these students He will bring them to repentance from sin and false doctrine and unto eternal life.
I got snookered into PCG G. Flurry and God rescued me after 7 years. 2002 to 2008. Fleeced of approximately $20,000. My born again experience happened in 1971. Once God saves a soul it’s almost impossible to fall away. Thank you Lord Jesus for your long suffering mercy and grace.

My wife's family in Michigan were in Flury's church but they got dumped when they had no money to contribute. But He who began a good work in us will complete it at the day of Jesus Christ. I do understand why people may be inclined to think God would not move here, but there have been many of us weeping and fasting, and crying out to God for our nation and asking Him for revival/restoration of our people and nation to Him and to His ways, to His righteousness, and He SAYS He will answer when we pray according to His will. 2 Chronicles 7:14 MANY have been praying for a move of God in our nation. We should expect an answer to that prayer, because He promises He will answer when we pray according to His will. Will it be enough? That will depend on whether enough people answer His call! But I know He is moving and have been saying I expected that He would move all across our country exactly because we ARE praying for it. I hope and pray this is a genuine move of God, but even if it fizzles or if it isn't, I do believe He is still moving, because I SEE Him moving, and I know He is responding to our prayers for the healing of our nation.
I'll also recommend a book "God of Liberty" by Thomas Harris. He highlights the religious history of the United States, the role it played on its founding, and the history of various religious moments in early US history. He highlights, as you do so well here, that despite the characterization of early American society as devoutly religious, it had periods where it strayed and was even in danger of marching down this "path of inevitable secularization". It was the Great Awakening and the Second Awakening that turned America back to God and faith. I'm an Asbury grad myself and I'm hopeful for what this could mean. It's not an As bury thing and I pray that it never be. May God move with power and bring about this refocusing according to His will.
I think it’s obvious that revival happens when there is a need. And there was a need in my heart and it took place there tonight. and yes it was all about repentance, genuine repentance a stop of sin as a result of the love of the Holy Spirit coming into my life and pushing out the love of sin, thank you Jesus!

What a beautiful way of helping us to see and recognize God's "reviving work in the midst of the years" in fairly recent centuries, and in often reprobate cultural moments! I've not heard it put this way before and am grateful I stumbled upon @SpeakLife! To this I say, "Lord, revive your work in the midst of the years! Amen!"
The word revival in the Greek as in Acts 2 means 'refreshing'. It is Christians gathering to pray and worship. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. To revive means to refresh and we need to be refreshed in our first love, Jesus. We can sometimes become dry and feel old as we walk, but we can draw near to God and His promise is to draw near to us. That is what you see and hear at Asbury.
Thanks for this historical perspective, greatly encouraging, I am finding a surprising degree of skepticism or even indifference among people I know regarding Asbury. as for me, what significance it has remained to be seen , but I'm praying it's the start of mass revival and it's the best and most exciting bit of news I've heard for.... If there is anything that is true, it is that as long as we keep a proper perspective of who we are in the light of who God says He is in the scripture, we can be sure that given time, we will know if this event at Asbury was of the Holy Spirit. I am encouraged to see young people acknowledge their sin, repent and renew their relationship with Christ. As we learn and discover how deep the love of God is toward us through His Son, Jesus Christ the more we will desire to love others as He loves us.
There's so much deception in the church right now that we have to be cautious. It started with a student's repentance and I don't see the usual signs of something that is purely a superficial emotional reaction. I would say that I'm cautiously optimistic. If it is real, we will see it in the actions of people.
Because Christians are not called to just accept "works of God" by faith alone. We are commanded to try spirits because of the abundance of false prophets in the world (I John 4:1), a gift of the Spirit is the ability to discern spirits (I Corinthians 12:10), Paul earlier instructs the church that no message cursing Christ is of the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 12:3), we are warned that there are people that will be as wolves toward us and to be aware of them (Matthee 7:15, 10:16; Luke 10:3; Acts 20:29), and there are dozens more at least. The Christian life is a life of warfare, and while flesh and blood are not our enemy, we must be aware that there are people that are aligned with our enemy that will come into the churches if they are not on guard. (Acts 20:29, Jude 1:4, Revelation 2-3)
Angie.....then get down on your knees and pray and cry out to God that it us real and the Holy Spirit is Moving and will use these young people. Stephen was only 17 when he got stoned for his message of Christ. I'm 69 yrs old . Yes there is going to be some that are curious, but maybe that curiosity will get them save or at least a seed will be planted. People get emotional at sports games, concerts. Why can't we raise our hand and praise shouts unto the Lord,. He is so so much more worthy to be praised than at those events.
You are right Glen, but you miss the point when it comes to the revival that coincided with Whitfield and Wesley - the point is God had raised them up to preach His Word. The question is not can revival come when we are so degenerate, but is revival all about emotionalism or is it a move of The Spirit that brings many people into a real and genuine relationship with Jesus Christ. Hindsight will say if this is revival or just an emotion fest that brings no worthwhile fruit. It’s good to be cautious as well as open to God doing a great work in our fallen society.
Why should we not give God the benefit of the doubt? Churches in this country have become apostate. Yet the blind still continue to visit them. This movement seems like an Awakening for our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Do not Insult God if he is trying to move, by being skeptical. Revivals aren't perfect, because people aren't perfect. Give it a chance to play out and be hopeful. Above all be prayerful.

Every word of you British English and intellect, captivates me! Glad I found your channel. We are only 4 hour fro Asbury. We were part of the Pensacola outpouring 25 years ago. Only the outpouring of the Spirit satisfies.
This is an insightful and hopeful post and I thank you! Even genuinely faithful Christians lose perspective sometimes. I know here in the US that during the past 2+ years we’ve gone from shocking to knock your socks off in an ever increasing and speedy manner. It’s easy to take one’s eyes off of the Lord and pay attention to what’s going on around us. Our youth need to see who God is and how big He is in their lives. Pray about what’s going on from Asbury and beyond, that it will continue to spread all over as God would have it. Praise Him!

i just read a testimony novel about a Muslim woman who became a Christian and has an amazing story, so similar countries are all on my heart now. (She was in Pakistan years ago, but India is also on my heart.) That would be so remarkable to see revival there because Christianity is less of a dominant religion than in America

Some very interesting things have been noted on this. Professors and people at Asbury have been praying for revival for years. The university had some professors who were teaching and supportive of unbiblical things and were corrupting the university and they just recently did "housekeeping" dismissing those Professors for not adhering to sound biblical doctrine and then called for holiness. Shortly thereafter Asbury 2023 revival/awakening/ outpouring (whatever you want to call it) happened. When we humble ourselves, repent and submit ourselves to a consecrated life of holiness God then shows up. No matter what people say, people who went there were repenting, crying out to God, preaching repentance and coming to Jesus Christ glorifying him which is never a bad thing and certainly not something that the Devil would promote. I wish I could have gone. I am so excited that this is spreading to other Universities across the US. When the govt is trying to remove God from the Universities God is raising up a generation which refuses to compromise and desires his presence which is AWESOME 🙌

I found this so encouraging! Thank you for your ministry and for lifting my spirit to recognise the Lord's work. I had a difficult time at church this weekend and left rather pessimistic about the whole thing! But no one let off a gun...In the midst of the years, revive us O Lord.
That verse means two things. 1. He lives in us so we have liberty from whatever we need liberty from. 2. When we soak in his presence he brings us liberty from whatever we need liberty from. Number two is what is happening at Asbury university. He's ministering to, refreshing, healing, delivering, freeing people from the chains that bind him through the power of the presence of His Spirit.
I found myself chuckling as you read the quotes about people historically doing most anything but attend church! 🤣. I think it is not we who initiate seeking God, but God who initiates our yearning.
The people of that time did not read the Bible. Bibles were kept chained to the walls of the cathedrals. Thus they were in darkness, until printing started. "The entrance of Thy Word giveth light."

I liken this to a wife being abused by her husband. After awhile, she leaves and divorces him and decides to live alone because she doesn't trust any man, but misses out by rejecting a true good man who really lovess her. Likewise, there are Christians who are weary of any revival because they have been hurt by other Christians and leaders and churches and so called revivals, therefore missing out what God really has for them.
A faithful older woman , an intercession , in our valley , had prayed fervently for any many years , The valleys where I lived , were full of alternative lifestyles , hippies etc , in 1983 84 , a wave of spiritual awakening occurred, About 6 families , found Christ , after that the numbers doubled , then tripled , , I was saved then. During the 80s , churches in the far north of nz , became blended and inter active and supportive , , Word faith arrived and interfered with it all , People tried to imitate Copeland and having, and PRIDE , split everything apart , , I still connect with many from those days, They've stayed true , but many fell away,, sad 😔

God can move, any where, any time, any place! We do not choose him. He chooses us. He is moving, no matter what it is defined by, people are worshiping and experiencing him in these dark times, he is showing us his light. Watch it spread! Watch it change! Watch and see the salvation of our lord! He will not disappoint!
What if this is the Last One? God is in charge of what He wants to do in this end times in favor of a humanity that has gone astray, but He wants to show love and mercy in the midst of it. Seems God has chosen this generation of young people to visit in the midst of their fear and confusion. The churches (not all churches) have largely failed to impart Christ to them. So many of the churches have yielded much ground to the world's system and its agendas. Kids have been demoralized, deceived and confused about who they are, what the Church is, what America stands for, what Truth is and what the future holds for them. God is bringing in His light of Truth and revealing His great love and grace to transform lives and bring great hope.
I really pray God to you in Jesus holy name that your people, myself included would be discerning but not critical of what you are doing at Asbury. I pray God for your will to be done in these precious young Christians and seekers. I pray for mature adults grounded and rooted in the truth of your word and your amazing love to help shepherd them. Lord God I think many of us are fearful of things happening at Like bethel and hlllsong. We need to give our control and fears 😨 to you and PRAY PRAY PRAY FOR REAL, for this generation and God we ask that you help them all God to really know you in truth and spirit. Father God please protect them from our judgments and from the evil 😈 one and from the evil one using us. God help us all, we all desperately need you. In Jesus name 🙏
Laurie, I can agree with prayer wholeheartedly. This is special, but like all things from God, the enemy, the thief comes not but for to steal, kill, and destroy. That's why we need to pray for protection for this infant move, so that it is not aborted.
You can only revive something that is dead. The Bride of Christ does not need to return to or recover life, because it comes from the Holy Spirit. What is happening at Asbury is spiritual renewal that can start in anyone anywhere with humble repentance and inviting God, the Holy Spirit to invade your life, then thanking and allowing Him to do what He does best - being a good and faithful God who only wants the best for you.
God turns us over to our desires. Then once the people have tried to save themselves. God moves to show you his Glory and Power. This is how God deals with us. We like sin. We enjoy unchain pleasures. So God lets us do it. Then the time of the Lord comes. And he shows them the truth.

I think it’s amazing how Holy Spirit has showed up for our young adults. The devil has been working overtime against this generation and I praise God for His intervention!
Awesome! This reminds me of the similar condition of the Chinese churches during the great revival brought by Dr.John Sung. Story after story tells us about how corrupt the church leaders were during that period. Many preachers, pastors and elders ended up weeping bitterly & confessing their sins publicly during John Sung's fervent preachings. It seems that more "Christians" repented and came to faith than those who were outside the churches.
The book of Romans was a letter from apostle Paul to the Christians in Rome. Why didn't Pastor Zack begin with Romans Chapter 1 ? It also instructs us how to live. I noticed he has advanced to Romans 13. Will he return to Romans Chapter 1 ?
Of course Satan wants us to be confused so he wants us to argue and dissect the meaning of words. We have to be cautious but optimistic. I think we should drink this in, with the understanding that it is positive. Let's not question the good, because our Saviour is always with us in good times and bad. He is with his believers always. I generally am on the more skeptical side with revival especially when events like this start in a safe, confined, generally "Christian" environment (been there, done that). Like you said, we need to wait and see what the outcome is further out in the future. I do hope that this actually does change an extraordinary number of lives over the long term. One thing that I see missing in the clips and commentary of what is happening at these schools is the extended reading of God's word. In the Bible, when there is a revival in God's people, there is extended reading of the scripture, teaching and exhortation. One headline that I just read (since I was checking in on the similar events at "my" school) said "...no signs of stopping as displays of prayer, singing and testimonies...". Nothing of the reading of God's Word. Yes, those are important and a key part of revival but we must hear from God Himself and the primary source of that would be the Bible. But, any way we look at this God controlled these events in these schools for His glory.

Because the bible says there will be an end!! Or, as so many do, ignore the signs that Jesus told us about in Matthew 24 when the end WILL COME!

A friend of mine wrote to me about the Asbury revival
I believe God hears the persistent , desperate cries of His people to visit us mightily in this generation. He does not disregard our prayers. There is a generation of young people out there who are lonely, confused, desperate, and so ripe for a move of God. Time, as Gamaliel said, will tell. I do believe God is in this somehow. We will see where it goes. Praying for the knowledge of Him to cover the earth! Praying nothing will be allowed to subvert or adulterate the work of His Holy Spirit. Praying for spiritual protection on these young ones coming now to faith in Jesus. Hoping to see an overflowing harvest of souls, and a rekindling of the hearts of His people everywhere. Including me!

Great point about persistent prayer. Very very true. Those that really want more of God will be persistent and never doubt in prayer until God shows up. The presence of God is more than enough.
Sadly the world seems to be as Jesus described ancient Israel " Sheep without a shepherd " .
The spiritual abuse in many churches has contributed to much of the pain and darkness . I hope that this is different .

How can you be skeptical when God pays a visit. I have faith he will show up all over the the World!
Totally agree with you. So happy that God is moving amongst the young people. The adults need to step aside and stop interjection their opinions, they should pray and let Holy Spirit continue what He, and only He has started. Revival is a personal thing and we have been praying for years for it. First comes revival of God's people then awakening of the lost.
Asbury is experiencing an encounter with the Holy Spirit. In 2014 my very small congregation experienced the same in kind. It changed all of us and set me on the path towards ministry.
I attended two days. Friday and Saturday. Days 10 and 11. I believe I saw an outpouring of the Holy Spirt. I heard many prayers and testimonies of repentance. I saw 5000+ on their knees joining in repentance prayer. I understand skeptics (doubters) wanting to be discerning but I would encourage naysayers to tread with caution. Acts 5: 38 Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. 39 But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.”

I have been skeptical because there has not been a purposeful declaration of the Gospel (Repentance and Grace) by leadership - at least not what I've seen via myriads of videos. This repentance should have happened at this school 2 years ago when Asbury had to dismiss two professors for being gay! That was when the student body should have hit their knees! The present student body is leaning heavily to see the school go modern as in being LGTBQ friendly! Google it for the truth!
If one’s hungry for God and tired of sin salvation is near. I got saved on my way to get cigarettes at the liquor store! Passing by a “church” I looked into the gym. Two guys shooting baskets. Suddenly a man was standing behind me(it was night). Next thing I know we’re in his office and I’m on my knees praying that my sins be forgiven. He was the pastor. I cried and confessed I’m sorry for my sinful lifestyle. Don’t remember how much time went by but when I walked back to my apartment I was a changed young lady and on a “high” spiritual experience lasting for 3 days! People knew something had happened to me. Joyful and peaceful

I think that the critics are missing the point! Have you any time to spend in the presence of God right now? I did that and have had a very real awakening of his spirit calling me higher! I have given up alcohol thru this! I am being renewed in my heart for the things he has called me to! That is conviction! Jesus has time for this?? Why not you?
I grew up in a cult called Worldwide Church of God ( WCG) and still came to a saving knowledge of Jesus. Later when the church came into New Covenant theology I and many others rejoiced but many did not and left for splinter groups holding to old WCG teachings. Unfortunately, WCG became filled with hyper grace doctrine and I and my wife had to leave it. A scripture that comes to mind is Philippians 1:6. He who begun a good work in you will complete it unto the day of Jesus Christ. If God started a real saving faith in some of these students He will bring them to repentance from sin and false doctrine and unto eternal life.
I got snookered into PCG G. Flurry and God rescued me after 7 years. 2002 to 2008. Fleeced of approximately $20,000. My born again experience happened in 1971. Once God saves a soul it’s almost impossible to fall away. Thank you Lord Jesus for your long suffering mercy and grace.

My wife's family in Michigan were in Flury's church but they got dumped when they had no money to contribute. But He who began a good work in us will complete it at the day of Jesus Christ. I do understand why people may be inclined to think God would not move here,
but there have been many of us weeping and fasting, and crying out to God for our nation
and asking Him for revival/restoration of our people and nation to Him and
to His ways, to His righteousness, and He SAYS He will answer when we pray
according to His will. 2 Chronicles 7:14 MANY have been praying for a move
of God in our nation. We should expect an answer to that prayer, because He
promises He will answer when we pray according to His will. Will it be enough?
That will depend on whether enough people answer His call! But I know He is
moving and have been saying I expected that He would move all across our
country exactly because we ARE praying for it. I hope and pray this is a
genuine move of God, but even if it fizzles or if it isn't, I do believe He is
still moving, because I SEE Him moving, and I know He is responding
to our prayers for the healing of our nation.
It's a blessing and an unlimited amount of His love.

I'll also recommend a book "God of Liberty" by Thomas Harris. He highlights the religious history of the United States, the role it played on its founding, and the history of various religious moments in early US history. He highlights, as you do so well here, that despite the characterization of early American society as devoutly religious, it had periods where it strayed and was even in danger of marching down this "path of inevitable secularization". It was the Great Awakening and the Second Awakening that turned America back to God and faith. I'm an Asbury grad myself and I'm hopeful for what this could mean. It's not an As bury thing and I pray that it never be. May God move with power and bring about this refocusing according to His will.

What a beautiful way of helping us to see and recognize God's "reviving work in the midst of the years" in fairly recent centuries, and in often reprobate cultural moments! The word revival in the Greek as in Acts 2 means 'refreshing'. It is Christians gathering to pray and worship. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. To revive means to refresh and we need to be refreshed in our first love, Jesus. We can sometimes become dry and feel old as we walk, but we can draw near to God and His promise is to draw near to us. That is what you see and hear at Asbury.
This revival is here to stay and it’s going all over the World! The time of the harvest is here before the coming of Jesus

Thanks for this historical perspective, greatly encouraging, I am finding a surprising degree of skepticism or even indifference among people I know regarding Asbury. as for me, what significance it has remained to be seen , but I'm praying it's the start of mass revival and it's the best and most exciting bit of news I've heard for.... Well I don't remember how long .
satan has his children - Genesis 3:15, John 8:44 and we know there will be tares that grow with the wheat that will be destroyed. Many of his children are in the church and formal christianity which is hell bound on religion and dismiss The WILL OF THE LORD GOD Who calls us into a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Him - John 17, Matthew 23:8-10
If there is anything that is true, it is that as long as we keep a proper perspective of who we are in the light of who God says He is in the scripture, we can be sure that given time, we will know if this event at Asbury was of the Holy Spirit. I am encouraged to see young people acknowledge their sin, repent and renew their relationship with Christ. As we learn and discover how deep the love of God is toward us through His Son, Jesus Christ the more we will desire to love others as He loves us.
Yes. We don't want to spoil this moment with our scepticism. My instinct tells me it's good. Why not just accept some things on faith.
There's so much deception in the church right now that we have to be cautious. It started with a student's repentance and I don't see the usual signs of something that is purely a superficial emotional reaction. I would say that I'm cautiously optimistic. If it is real, we will see it in the actions of people.
Because Christians are not called to just accept "works of God" by faith alone. We are commanded to try spirits because of the abundance of false prophets in the world (I John 4:1), a gift of the Spirit is the ability to discern spirits (I Corinthians 12:10), Paul earlier instructs the church that no message cursing Christ is of the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 12:3), we are warned that there are people that will be as wolves toward us and to be aware of them (Matthee 7:15, 10:16; Luke 10:3; Acts 20:29), and there are dozens more at least.
The Christian life is a life of warfare, and while flesh and blood are not our enemy, we must be aware that there are people that are aligned with our enemy that will come into the churches if they are not on guard. (Acts 20:29, Jude 1:4, Revelation 2-3)
Angie.....then get down on your knees and pray and cry out to God that it us real and the Holy Spirit is Moving and will use these young people. Stephen was only 17 when he got stoned for his message of Christ. I'm 69 yrs old . Yes there is going to be some that are curious, but maybe that curiosity will get them save or at least a seed will be planted. People get emotional at sports games, concerts. Why can't we raise our hand and praise shouts unto the Lord,. He is so so much more worthy to be praised than at those events.
You are right Glen, but you miss the point when it comes to the revival that coincided with Whitfield and Wesley - the point is God had raised them up to preach His Word. The question is not can revival come when we are so degenerate, but is revival all about emotionalism or is it a move of The Spirit that brings many people into a real and genuine relationship with Jesus Christ. Hindsight will say if this is revival or just an emotion fest that brings no worthwhile fruit. It’s good to be cautious as well as open to God doing a great work in our fallen society.

Why should we not give God the benefit of the doubt? Churches in this country have become apostate. Yet the blind still continue to visit them. This movement seems like an Awakening for our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Do not Insult God if he is trying to move, by being skeptical. Revivals aren't perfect, because people aren't perfect. Give it a chance to play out and be hopeful. Above all be prayerful.
There are probably many questions when it comes to testing the spirits. I don't think he meant his "question" was the only one.

I know here in the US that during the past 2+ years we’ve gone from shocking to knock your socks off in an ever increasing and speedy manner. It’s easy to take one’s eyes off of the Lord and pay attention to what’s going on around us. Our youth need to see who God is and how big He is in their lives. i just read a testimony novel about a Muslim woman who became a Christian and has an amazing story, so similar countries are all on my heart now. (She was in Pakistan years ago, but India is also on my heart.) That would be so remarkable to see revival there because Christianity is less of a dominant religion than in America

Some very interesting things have been noted on this. Professors and people at Asbury have been praying for revival for years.
The university had some professors who were teaching and supportive of unbiblical things and were corrupting the university and they just recently did "housekeeping" dismissing those Professors for not adhering to sound biblical doctrine and then called for holiness.
Shortly thereafter Asbury 2023 revival/awakening/ outpouring (whatever you want to call it) happened.
When we humble ourselves, repent and submit ourselves to a consecrated life of holiness God then shows up.
No matter what people say, people who went there were repenting, crying out to God, preaching repentance and coming to Jesus Christ glorifying him which is never a bad thing and certainly not something that the Devil would promote. I wish I could have gone. I am so excited that this is spreading to other Universities across the US.
When the govt is trying to remove God from the Universities God is raising up a generation which refuses to compromise and desires his presence which is AWESOME 🙌

That verse means two things. 1. He lives in us so we have liberty from whatever we need liberty from. 2. When we soak in his presence he brings us liberty from whatever we need liberty from. Number two is what is happening at Asbury university. He's ministering to, refreshing, healing, delivering, freeing people from the chains that bind him through the power of the presence of His Spirit.

I liken this to a wife being abused by her husband. After awhile, she leaves and divorces him and decides to live alone because she doesn't trust any man, but misses out by rejecting a true good man who really lovess her. Likewise, there are Christians who are weary of any revival because they have been hurt by other Christians and leaders and churches and so called revivals, therefore missing out what God really has for them.

A faithful older woman , an intercession , in our valley , had prayed fervently for any many years , The valleys where I lived , were full of alternative lifestyles , hippies etc , in 1983 84 , a wave of spiritual awakening occurred, About 6 families , found Christ , after that the numbers doubled , then tripled , , I was saved then. During the 80s , churches in the far north of nz , became blended and inter active and supportive , , Word faith arrived and interfered with it all , People tried to imitate Copeland and having, and PRIDE , split everything apart , , I still connect with many from those days, They've stayed true , but many fell away,, sad 😔

What if this is the Last One? God is in charge of what He wants to do in this end times in favor of a humanity that has gone astray, but He wants to show love and mercy in the midst of it. Seems God has chosen this generation of young people to visit in the midst of their fear and confusion. The churches (not all churches) have largely failed to impart Christ to them. So many of the churches have yielded much ground to the world's system and its agendas. Kids have been demoralized, deceived and confused about who they are, what the Church is, what America stands for, what Truth is and what the future holds for them. God is bringing in His light of Truth and revealing His great love and grace to transform lives and bring great hope.
This is the second wave of the 70s Jesus Revolution after a 40 year 'walk through the wilderness'
I really pray God to you in Jesus holy name that your people, myself included would be discerning but not critical of what you are doing at Asbury. I pray God for your will to be done in these precious young Christians and seekers. I pray for mature adults grounded and rooted in the truth of your word and your amazing love to help shepherd them. Lord God I think many of us are fearful of things happening at Like bethel and hlllsong. We need to give our control and fears 😨 to you and PRAY PRAY PRAY FOR REAL, for this generation and God we ask that you help them all God to really know you in truth and spirit. Father God please protect them from our judgments and from the evil 😈 one and from the evil one using us. God help us all, we all desperately need you. In Jesus name 🙏
Laurie, I can agree with prayer wholeheartedly. This is special, but like all things from God, the enemy, the thief comes not but for to steal, kill, and destroy. That's why we need to pray for protection for this infant move, so that it is not aborted.
You can only revive something that is dead. The Bride of Christ does not need to return to or recover life, because it comes from the Holy Spirit. What is happening at Asbury is spiritual renewal that can start in anyone anywhere with humble repentance and inviting God, the Holy Spirit to invade your life, then thanking and allowing Him to do what He does best - being a good and faithful God who only wants the best for you.
God turns us over to our desires. Then once the people have tried to save themselves. God moves to show you his Glory and Power.
This is how God deals with us. We like sin. We enjoy unchain pleasures. So God lets us do it. Then the time of the Lord comes. And he shows them the truth.
I just dumped all my liquor down the sink. I feel different. I've done this before, please everyone pray I never drink again. This time I want true repentance from me. Not temporarily. I think it’s amazing how Holy Spirit has showed up for our young adults. The devil has been working overtime against this generation and I praise God for His intervention!
Awesome! This reminds me of the similar condition of the Chinese churches during the great revival brought by Dr.John Sung. Story after story tells us about how corrupt the church leaders were during that period. Many preachers, pastors and elders ended up weeping bitterly & confessing their sins publicly during John Sung's fervent preachings. It seems that more "Christians" repented and came to faith than those who were outside the churches.

The book of Romans was a letter from apostle Paul to the Christians in Rome. Why didn't Pastor Zack begin with Romans Chapter 1 ? It also instructs us how to live. I noticed he has advanced to Romans 13. Will he return to Romans Chapter 1 ?

Of course Satan wants us to be confused so he wants us to argue and dissect the meaning of words. We have to be cautious but optimistic. I think we should drink this in, with the understanding that it is positive. Let's not question the good, because our Saviour is always with us in good times and bad. He is with his believers always. Glen, thank you for the insights. I generally am on the more skeptical side with revival especially when events like this start in a safe, confined, generally "Christian" environment (been there, done that). Like you said, we need to wait and see what the outcome is further out in the future. I do hope that this actually does change an extraordinary number of lives over the long term. One thing that I see missing in the clips and commentary of what is happening at these schools is the extended reading of God's word. In the Bible, when there is a revival in God's people, there is extended reading of the scripture, teaching and exhortation. One headline that I just read (since I was checking in on the similar events at "my" school) said "...no signs of stopping as displays of prayer, singing and testimonies...". Nothing of the reading of God's Word. Yes, those are important and a key part of revival but we must hear from God Himself and the primary source of that would be the Bible. But, any way we look at this God controlled these events in these schools for His glory.
