- The Asbury Revival has been the talk of the Christian world for the last few weeks. Is this a true revival? What is a revival in the first place? How should we as Christians respond to this? Rejoicing? Skepticism? Both? In this video, I interview Josh Buice Scott Aniol, and Matt Sikes as we talk about the latest big thing in the evangelical world and how we should respond.

Saved at 34 and still loving, honoring and praising the Lord at 88.
To God be the Glory and the work of The Holy Spirit.
Beautiful to hear! ❤
When were you baptized into Christ?
Justin Peters is part of a cult. From his own website:
---------------
" There is no 'decision' we can make for Christ. We cannot 'accept' Him unless we are first quickened by His Spirit. God has predestined, or elected, those whom He wishes to save. God has given to the Son an elect group of people as a love gift. "
----------------
This is not Scriptural nor is it Christian..
@@jedimasterham2 wouldn’t call him part of a cult even though I agree his views are unbiblical.
@@colepriceguitar1153 He is part of a cult called Calvinism. Calvinism perverts scripture and denies Jesus' atonement for sin, and it preaches a false Jesus who only died for an elite group. Worse is, they believe true salvation occurs outside of Christ.
This is not Christian whatsoever.
I'm doing a graduate degree in music, and I think it's worth noting that the idea of music stirring the emotions and leading to "catharsis" was heartily believed by the Ancient Greeks. Certainly God can use music, but we have to be careful that we are centered on the preaching of the Word.
I agree it is a tool to use emotion to control the subject . Hence Hill Song . Heretic in nature
Let's not forget, God can and does use music for his glory, so can Satan, by a Worldly emotion that sweeps many along it's road.
Unfortunately, most reports replay Asbury using the contemporary music. They have clearly avoided Asbury's use of classic hymns. Asbury is too broad in their scope to just fall into contemporary only!
I’ve had a music ministry and still play at church sometimes and I completely agree with you. Sound doctrine is infinitely more important than music.
For that matter strive to have sound doctrine in the music as well.
@@MarkEvanWhite I too play in music ministry, (guitar) . I enjoy or prefer hymns, first. But there are other contemporary that passes theological muster; "In Christ Alone" "Mighty To Save" etc. But I have welled up in years plenty of times when singing the verse that contained words: "It is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more, it is well, it is well with my soul". Emotions are funny things. I refuse to dismiss it as evil. Knowing we are created in God's image. We musicians sometimes are in a precarious position, I don't always like certain songs, but I'll always play skillfully my very best. What else is there?
A true 'personal' revival doesn't have to take place at even a church. God can bring refreshment and revival in our personal walk with Him right in our homes. As a matter of fact God saved me, not in a church, but at my bedside on my knees in repentance at the age of thirty-five. The gospel wasn't being preached to me, but everything I ever heard of the gospel was brought to my mind and conscience. Most especially repentance.
Amen
Amen!!! Praise the Lord! ❤
I'm a pretty fickle person emotionally. I experience many highs and lows, often in the same day. I used think that having an emotional high meant I was filled with the Holy Spirit, while I interpreted an emotional low as being abandoned or punished by God. I've since come to realize, as Scripture explains, that being filled with the Holy Spirit means to abide in Him and to live according to the truth from the moment I get up to the moment I go to bed, day in and day out, regardless of how I feel. Marathon church services don't really mean much in the greater scheme of things. "Revivals" in the sense of people spontaneously coming to Christ is great and all, but what really matters is that they go on to live a life that shows they were truly saved. Live a life of consistently trusting God and studying His word and you will truly be full of the Holy Spirit.
That is true
Same. I found that in Church. That my worship was emotional. Emotionalism. SOME Churches I have attended help create that state with music and twisting the word. God is helping me change. Hallelujah
Amen brother! I totally agree with you🙏
Amen, so true!! Basing anything on our emotions is foolishness. The bedrock gospel and God's promises are enough 💯
Well said.

My pastor went to the revival and on the 11th. He said he kept making excuses, but God told him he’d regret it in 10 years if he didn’t go. He used his missing the Super Bowl and driving three hours in the rain that day as an example of dying to self. I spent the last two weeks looking for a new church.
When I first was reading this I thought you were going to defend Asbury 😂! I hope God helps you find a solid church!

I was a Pentecostal for many years, and part of a few so-called revivals in the past.
I have left the word of faith movement and I'm now in a biblical sound church.
This video has a great breakdown on what a true revival is from a theological perspective.
Great to hear these men of God talk about this topic🙏
I was in a nondenominational church for about 2 years after moving to a different province (NB, Canada). I had to leave because I wasn't being fed. It was a stagnant church that focused on bringing in new people, wouldn't talk about sin, emotional, worship concerts, lots of Hillsong, Bethel and Elevation. I left and am in a small country Baptist Church that is biblically sound.
Same here! 🙏🏼

Well I attended a church that had a similar revival. The pastor was extremely anointed. The revival was powerful as he continued to preach repentance. It is the first time I experienced many people rejoice at repentance. And lives changed. 23 years later I am still changes and we spread the good news of the gospel to others.
This channel would call it heresy and say its the devil
What does it mean to be "extremely anointed"? Does Paul use that language in the NT when he talks about Timothy, Barnabas, Apollos?
@@thegrigs777 Dead religion will do that...
the gospel has been absent from all I've listened to at Asbury, especially the speech which "launched" the event.
I used to believe that too. Then the Lord opened my eyes to the fact that we all have the same amount of anointing as children of God with the same Holy Spirit. I also used to say I was a WHOLE Bible believer. Then the Lord opened my eyes to the fact that almost everything I believed was taking Scripture out of context. It was all emotionalism and it was the music that kept me in it for so many years. I challenge you to go 2 months without contemporary Christian music but keep praying and stay in your Bible. See what the Lord does in your life. 🙏🏻
At age 70 and being a Christian for 50 years I am approaching this or any so called revival with deep decernment. Living through and being a part of the charismatic movement we often witnessed these things that led to many false conversions and churches becoming infected with false doctrines. Satan enjoys putting on a show but Jesus doesn't need that at all. True repentance will take place in the private and personal moments we have with God. True revival will begin first in the background during those private moments individuals have. Only our Lord can work out front but in the background.
I am age 70 and I totally agree. I like to think that Jesus is coming soon and if I have 15 more years that's gonna go very quickly and he's coming soon for me.
Yes Sir! Yes Sir!
@ada2step Amen. I thank God for your fair assessment of what is happening in Ashbury. Seems like the Reformed camp is hoping that this revival is a sham. I wonder how they would have reacted during the First Great Awakening
@@kevinevans8892 it seems like to me and reading all ur comments ur unable to accept the opinions and facts of others and you so desperately want Asbury to be a real revival. God doesn't work that way Sir. These men are actually giving you scripture to back up what they are saying. Go read about the Azusa revival or the revival in the Hebrides or the revival that happened in Pond Inlet and around those surrounding areas . True revival is always birthed in deep repentance, prayer and intercession. And I never read about any revival throughout history having meetings for certain age groups or homosexual people leading worship or services. You can't just take somethings from what's happening at Asbury and ignore others it doesn't work that way
Absolutely
Having been a Christian missionary for many years and I am a result the Jesus movement of the 70's. That was probably the greatest Christian revival or Holy Spirit movement in the U.S. I first received the Gospel as a teenager at a Billy Graham Crusade in 1976. There are emotion as well as God's Word involved in Christian ministry, period. There must be people who are moved by the Spirit of God as well as the Word of God that brings repentance and true salvation. Let us not forget the importance of biblical discipleship that must be a part of any movement. God's people must teach biblical obedience for new believers to know and do what God wants.
Bless you 🙏 my brothers and sisters 🙏 in christ from the Highlands of Scotland
I followed and listened closely to the Asbury meetings and saw the Word preached regularly, Scripture readings, testimonies, worship, students coming to the altar - it was a very simple and genuine expression by the students, of love of the Lord Jesus, prayer, conviction and repentance - The Holy Spirit was at work - it was "aborted" by leadership and infrastructure/logistics which were expressed by the Asbury president on the 23 Feb- it was a planned closure which to me does not give the Holy Spirit the ability to continue to move freely - That saddened me - I do believe we will see the fruit of the Spirit by many students Many people came to Asbury because many churches are not "feeding" its flock- the sheep are hungry and thirsty for the true inerrant Living Word - the true Gospel! The true Gospel overrides all denominations and ideologies -Jesus Christ is our Model and Deliverer of all our sins and inequities. No compromise! Total Surrender and dying to our sinful nature - The Scripture is clear on this!
“Tell me what the world is saying today, and I’ll tell you what the church will be saying in seven years.”

Justin Peters is part of a dangerous cult. From his own website:

@@jedimasterham2 I'm thinking you just need to read your Bible. You really do.
@@TEXAS-SMITH The Catholics say the same thing when I tell them Jesus is the "rock." So I read it every day, but they -and now Calvinists- keep telling me the same thing. So I keep reading it.
I say with some certainty that reformed theology (ie. Calvinism and Arminianism) is a cult as much as Catholicism. Christians need to stop sitting on the fence about this.
@@TEXAS-SMITH NO... jedi is actually correct!!!
Calvininists believe in predestination meaning that God chose from the beginning who will be saved and nothing we do can change that. Ive heard calvinists teach that after they get saved they can live the way they want and are still saved. This is once saved always saved.
This is not true. Paul clearly teaches that while under grace we do not continue to sin. Our names can be blotted out of the Book of Life.
God knows the end from the beginning so he knows who will respond and who will turn away. That's not predestination but simply that the author knows the end of story.
We do not know. Which is why we evangelize.
We also have to live within God's laws to keep our heart tender towards him. If we were allowed to keep sinning because we once gave our life then our hearts would be hard.
Calvinists are excellent Bible teachers, like Peters, but they are NOT CORRECT in a few very important areas.
@jedimasterham2 it is scriptual. It runs through the whole Bible. Just read Paul's letters such as Romans. All you did was complain about something, you either proved error nor offered a valid alternative.
Yesss!!!! This is exactly what’s I’ve been thinking about the Asbury situation.
I am having to keep my thoughts and my discernment to myself among my church lady friends. They are so easily going along with the waves it shocks me 😮
People want experiences, yet God's word is available to them. Imagine the bible saying that if you hear them saying Jesus is there, don't go, we are gullible as humans. May God help us...

If you are interested please let me know and I can send you some more information and I can also give you a live presentation of the platform via Zoom if you would like. Thanks and I hope to hear from you.
I got saved by the Grace of God at 21, 25 now. I wouldn’t say I grew up in Christianity. But many times in my life before Christ, I went to church events like this. And every time I would go home and be back in my life of sin. I remember at 19-21, I was grieved with my shame and guilt. My girlfriend and I were in ministry, both self deceived. I did a sermon on God’s holiness and I saw the giant distance between God’s perfection and me. I was wrought with grief and I knew I was going to hell. My pastor and elders told me that grace covers me. I found out every Christian around me was living a life of habitual sin. I sat there and told my girlfriend that if this is true Christianity then Christianity isn’t true. Thankfully, we both left that church, went to a biblical church. I got saved, we broke up, eventually the lord brought her back, saved her last year. And we are planning on getting married lord willing. And now we understand what true Christianity is. We were in the hyper grace movement, now we are in a biblical church that preaches the word and pours into the body of believers.
With all that said, I can agree this movement will burn out people. That happened to me, thankfully God in his sovereignty decided to save me.
This is measured by Baptist doctrine.
) as I listen to,you guys speak if only you know how mUth yoU,have bored me ask yourselves are you the modern day pharasses?
At 65 years of age. And growing up in church, attending many different churches. I have seen many so called revivals. The thing that bothers me...is after those meetings. The growth does not follow. The people go back to the stagnant way of life. Years later they still have not grown in they're faith or love in God. Still committing the same sins, over and over. But still believing that Heaven will be they're home when they die. I gave my heart to God when I was 9 years old, in my bedroom...alone. Then from then grew in my faith in God. I have very little regret in my life, experienced falls, picked myself back up...asked God to forgive my sin. And moved forward away from that sin, to never do it again. That's real repentance, a faith in God that keeps you moving forward, growing, leaving sinful ways and actions behind. It does not stop at the alter, but moves forward...to a greater and greater love for God. Yes, some really do really repent in these meeting. And for that I'm very thankful but it hurts to see the many that got swept in by the emotions and never really repented. So sad.😢
Thank you all so much! GOD Bless all of you for bringing Discernment 🙏 ❤ 🙌

I was at the ' Jesus Movement" back in the early 70's - I was 19. What's going on at this "Asbury revival" is exactly like it was for me back then. I never heard the word "repentance", speaking in tongues was "cool" and I really believed I was SO spiritual. I got "baptized" in the ocean in La Jolla, Ca and thought I was "on my way" as a "Christian". My "walk" was truly on the broad and not the narrow way because for the next 35 years I did things I cannot mention. Was I "saved"? NO!! No way! It wasn't until 2014, when I was literally brought to the end of myself, that I truly repented, turned from my sins, and put my faith and trust in Christ. The one thing that "followed" from the 70's was this "speaking in tongues" and being "charismatic" (Exactly the kinda stuff that happens at Bethel, etc)
It wasn't until I was checking out Christian content on RUclips in 2017 that I began listening to these guys talking about "Strange Fire". I found out the "guys" were Todd Friel, John MacArthur, Justin Peters, and Phil Johnson. What was presented in that conference which originally aired in 2013, opened my eyes. I am so thankful to God for leading me OUT of the charismatic church and teaching me that "tongues" today is not Biblical. I walked away (mostly ran away!) from false teachers who are "wolves". I began reading and studying His amazing word every day! I found a Biblically based church, and truly know I am saved.... I belong to my loving Savior Jesus and am walking with Him on the "narrow" road every day.

I used to attend a WOF Prosperity church some years back, changed churches due to moving and still had a WOF mindset. The new church helped and then listening to sound pastors like Justin Peters, etc. call heresy out. I did not know that it was okay to do it. I was overwhelmed by trying to understand sound truth verses false teaching. God was moving me out of false doctrines. I threw books away. I finally told a family member and it was not accepted too well but I am praying for them. Now, I am open to another eschatology teaching. Heard a teaching that I am really being shown that some may be deceived. God will help His own understand. God bless you! 🙏

You lose all credibility when you put on a unidentified man purporting to a Asbury University student talking about homosexuality. You should not put hearsay on your site. Sloppy work for so called Hersey hunter
It don't mean a graduate degree in anything. It's you heart.. repentance means change of mind and actions. Hermeneutics is interpretation of biblical scripture..
When I was first aware of my need for a Savior, I really struggled with feelings, mysicism, etc. It was years before I finally understood it's about taking God at His Word.
Thanks for dealing with this.
Hey Tim, please be careful with Justin Peters. He is part of a dangerous cult. From his own website:
" There is no 'decision' we can make for Christ. We cannot 'accept' Him unless we are first quickened by His Spirit. God has predestined, or elected, those whom He wishes to save. God has given to the Son an elect group of people as a love gift. "
This is not Scriptural and it is antichristian.
@@jedimasterham2 Predestination and Free Will are only two of the many misunderstood contrast in Scripture but I will explain it in the simplest way I can so you can understand.
In the Scripture, there are many groups of people of GOD but are in fact only divided into two: Those who are "called," and those who are "chosen" (a.k.a. the Elects), hence what was written by Matthew in 22:14 as "Many are CALLED but only few are CHOSEN."
If you are "called," then you are only invited to come but you still have a "free will," to choose whether you want to accept HIS invitation or not; or either stay and leave HIS feast.
The "chosen," or "elected," by GOD, on the other hand, such as the Prophets, the Apostles, the Disciples are the only ones who are "predestined," by GOD to do specific tasks for HIM even before they were conceived in their mother's womb and that is even if they do not want to. These are the people that no matter what they do and however hard they try to escape the path GOD has "predestined," for them, they often find themselves being chased and pursued by GOD Himself even if they refuse, runaway and hide (as the Prophet Jonah).
Now...
Many Christians today tend to teach that "predestination," is applicable to everyone, but then, often find themselves on a dead end when faced by the question..."but how about those who end up doing all the wrongs and evil, did GOD planned that for them too? Isn't that not fair?" As if it is also GOD's plan to assign the greater majority to go to hell?
The general predestination doctrine has a dead end because it is not only flawed but is also false and erroneous. Predestination is only applicable to the Elects or those whom GOD has assigned and hand-picked to work for HIM to execute HIS Will. But as for the rest who are not chosen to work for HIM, you are called, but the freedom to choose (free will) to follow and obey HIM or not, is still up to you.
Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

Unfortunately, Justin Peters believes in a false gospel. There’s no way to sugarcoat this.
Thank you for addressing this subject. I was hoping more men who are faithful to the word of God would speak to this "revival".
God Bless you all ! very Balanced helpful talk for those hungry souls to grow in the word of God! & we need to pray for the new converts , God to protect from infiltration of the wolfs & to lead them to the right Shepherds !!!!
Thank you Justin for putting this together, very wise input and discernment, The one thing needed today in the Church is spiritual Discernment, without it people will tossed too and fro just from emotionalism. Sound preaching and Sound Doctrine is the way to true conversion. God might like singing praises to Him but he requires and Loves Obedience.
Great podcast…….Thank You and God Bless You All……❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
I’m so glad to have all you “doctors” around to tell us commoners what IS or IS NOT a move of God. I mean were it not for you learned biblical “experts”, God would have no one to use, and/or discern the finer points of theology, and the impact these evildoers can have on those less scholarly like us little people of the faith. I thank God daily that you all are his Generals.
What a refreshing conversation about this. Thank you gentlemen for all the points yall discussed.
I was skeptical from the moment I began hearing about it. The more I hear about it the more skeptical I’ve gotten. I’m not questioning the sincerity of the people that were there, but I’m still not convinced this is an actual revival.
Not to mention that when I hear the names Furtick and White as people who were supposed to be there, my alarm bells go off immediately.
Same here. After Kanye West, God was not going to let me make that mistake again.
Not to mention Rick Waren as well, along with another prominent NAR preacher were called on to speak at Asbury
It's almost like these new believers are being placed in the garden. Maybe there are 2 trees to choose from at this revival, also. One is TRUTH, and the other is "good AND evil" mixed. Trees with bad fruit will always produce like kind. I wish only the tree of life was at Asbury, but it is more likely both trees are there. You are right, we will have to wait to see if ANY good fruit is produced.
Neither Stephen Furtick nor James White was invited to or did attend any of these meetings. Todd Bentley was prevented from participating in any activities or meetings. No "NAR" preachers "were called on to speak at Asbury." Nor was Rick Warren or Kanye West. Thank you.
I’m guessing you’re referring to a different James White than the one from Alpha and Omega ministries? I can’t see him and Steven Furtick speaking at the same location.
What a truth-filled, biblical revealing of what a true biblical revival is. Yes, God will use any means He chooses, but revival is of God and by God. We cannot command Him. Thank you, Justin, for taking the time you did on this and for sharing. God bless you all.
Hi Friend,
I appreciate your post. Would you have any interest in helping to advance the Gospel worldwide through a unique online missions platform? I am looking for similar spiritually minded people, like those who agree with the teachings on Justin’s channel, to be online missionaries on a very unique platform I have been developing. If you are interested please let me know and I can send you some more information and I can also give you a live presentation of the platform via Zoom if you would like. Thanks and I hope to hear from you.
Well done! I believe you all have set a standard, if not THE standard, for evaluating the Asbury event. I'm sure I speak for others who've had the same reservations, concerns, and questions as were raised in this video when I say thank you all for dealing with them. To hear that the proof of validity should have been repentance on the part of the school re: rejection of Scripture (female pastors, LGBT activity) spoke volumes. A move of God certainly would have addressed such obvious sins. Thank you for the work involved getting this one together. Much needed. I'll share this with our church.
Hey, please be very wary. Justin Peters is part of a dangerous cult called Calvinism. From his own website, he writes:
" There is no 'decision' we can make for Christ. We cannot 'accept' Him unless we are first quickened by His Spirit. God has predestined, or elected, those whom He wishes to save. God has given to the Son an elect group of people as a love gift. "
This is not Scriptural nor is it Christian.. It's a cult similar to Mormonism, SDA, JW, and Catholicism.
@@jedimasterham2 Appears the "Cult of Calvinism" had captured Paul 2,000 years ago, before Calvin existed.
"And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)"

If I may add, but from a Source outside of the Bible:
"it is nickname to call it Calvinism, Calvinism is the Gospel, and nothing else" -Charles Spurgeon.
Indeed Brother, Calvinism is the Truth of Holy Writ, it is the Gospel correctly understood, correctly taught, and correctly explained, it is the Truth, it is no cult, it is merely...the Gospel.
Arminianism is to be rebuked whenever it crops its ugly Head, in the Hope that the Person dead in their Sins who holds to it is bought to Repentance and to Faith in the True Messiah, the True Christ Jesus.
For Arminianism is an invention of the Unregenerate Flesh ("We are all born Arminian" -George Whitefield, on why we need to be Born Again!) , it is a Lie of Rome, of Hell, and of the Devil, and is to be rebuked whenever seen, and well rebuked there with the Scriptures beloved Brother!
Love and Peace.

Thank you so much for this video ! the whole family absolutely agree with what said !
Absolutely a great talk. A useful guideline.
I was already a believer when I visited Brownsville in Pensacola during the height of their revival back in 1996. I observed a lot of people getting swept up in the emotion of the service, there was a sermon but from what I recall, very little scripture. The focus was on the alter call which came after about two hours of ever increasing emotional worship. People were falling down, shaking uncontrollably, crying and yelling. There was a lot of talk about the great work God was doing through their church and how God would change your life if you accepted Christ. One of the staff there told me I would wake up the next morning feeling different. I didn’t.
I attended this event a bunch of times. I rededicated my life their and it had a huge impact on my life. Looking back it was alot of emotion but the evangelist preached the true gospel. I think he was a fan of Finney so it makes since he would try to bring people to a decision. However, I learned a bunch of NAR like teaching as my visits her spanned over the years. I had to unlearn a bunch of doctrine.
Jesus still heals thru pray today for sure! I was healed of an abscess in my abdomen, caused by a ruptured appendix, in one day, because I prayed for healing all night, in Jesus Name and the next day it was completely gone! It was Jesus through faith that healed me! I would have died without him! Do you not believe that the Lord still does miraculous healings today? Is it your view that the Holy Spirit no longer has the power to heal?
No altar calls in scripture

Great Video its good to have these Pastors contribution about the Asbury so called revival. Thank you Pastor Justin Peters.
I was waiting for this...
Thank you Justin for putting this program on. My background is similar to Marc's. I attended Spring Arbor College and Marion College, both in the Wesley \Holines Movement in the 50's. These types of "Revivals" occurred in both colleges. Looking back ,they both lacked the growth of spiritual life as evidenced by the fruit of the spirit. It was spiritual dead end for many. God led me by His grace in 1969 to Grace Church in So Cal. John MacArthur was just beginning his ministry. It was a small church which was packed four times on Sunday and Wednesday night. I witnessed and experienced true revival as John taught verse by verse each time. A method I had never seen in "holiness" churchs in 30 years. Young people came with their Bibles and crowded around John listening to every word and even stopping him to ask questions. That was a true Biblical revival and has born much fruit over the years.

Thanks to what I have learned over the last 5 years from YT discernment ministry channels and other internet podcasts I was able to assess Asbury before critiquing videos were posted. I praise God that I am able to do this now. I was in charismatic/pentacostal/WOF/prosperity churches for 10 years back in the 1990s and left just after the Toronto blessing arrived in Australia. Unfortunately back there there was not information available on the internet, I was married to a non Christian and friends were all in same churches. God was faithful and used the introduction of loud music to get me out.
The Ashbury is a beautiful expression of people celebrating community, Gods love and their faith. It does not need commentary, or the opinions of church scholars to be true. I am grateful for the young people who started the revival. People are celebrating their faith. Maybe you need to look at what is being experienced instead of judging it and being threatened by the Ashbury revival.
💯
Thank you so much for your words. They were about what I was thinking.
I have been there and have the T-Shirt. A little different perspective on the slaying in the spirit... as a new Christian I went to one of Benny Hinn's early meetings. I knew nothing of what to expect, during a hymn singing he was walking down the aisles, no one was holding hands, I had my eyes closed with hands raised up singing. I don't remember what he spoke, but it was not the insanity he got into later and he never touched us; however, I went down as did everyone else in the row. It was a supernatural power. Now I know it was demonic. At the time it felt wonderful. This is why many will not believe it is bad.
This can only be one of three things: It’s of the Spirit; it’s of the flesh; or it is of the Devil. The questions that must be asked: Is God being glorified or is man? Is the Gospel being preached? Is this leading people to repent? And, are the lost being saved?
Been waiting to hear JP's response to the Asbury event, and he doesn't disappoint. Discerning observations are made by him and his guests which they then logically support and explain Scripturally, historically, and experientially. They make (and explain) observations and go deeper than what has occurred to me. My appreciation for God's word and respect for these men's understanding was increased by hearing what is said here. This is the ministering of God's truth which could actually lead to legitimate revival.
I am a former Asbury parent of two graduates who majored in media communications which is a number one major there. Asbury has a connection to Hollywood. Some of the professors are from Hollywood (one worked with the TV series The Golden Girls) and we have actors such as Dean Jones and Pat Boone (April Love filmed in Kentucky). Asbury has a cutting edge movie set and theater and the head of the department formerly worked for ABC sports. It's a fantastic place to learn all aspects of the media communication profession. When I heard that the president announced that there was a move of the Spirit in the chapel among a small group of students, that raised a red flag that this might be a manipulated move from Hollywood to create an audience for their upcoming woke movie "The Jesus Revolution". What better place than Asbury which has a history of emotionally driven revivals in February, a university that has Hollywood implants, and has embraced the social justice movement? I wonder if the president had not made a public announcement, if this would have been just another chapel service.
Where can I find the information on this? I'm not surprised at all that this crap would happen. Also a 'coincidence' that this spiritual movement happened so soon after the satanic ritual at the grammys.
Thank you sharing your thoughts! That's certainly something to consider. With all that's been going on in Hollywood, that really honestly wouldn't surprise me. 🤔
Yes -- It was a true Holy Spirit revival, I was there at Asbury University... and the Lord's revival is still happening! ✝😍🙏🔥🙌🕊💕🥰 AMEN!!
Thank you!!!!! Amen.
I did not attend, however, I truly believe that true believers in Christ would hear what was going on there, such as myself, and start inviting people over to our house to pray. Isn’t that what we should all be doing?
I praise God for this “ordinary chapel service” in which the spirit stirred the waters.
Living a Holy life is obedience to the word of God..............thank you for this teaching.......May God bless all of you........

Justin I have trained in martial arts All Eastern religious chant The same thing over and over Doing this can lead to disengaging your mind Then emotions take over and u can be lead to doing things That u can accomplish the thing u want This is dangerous GOD wants everything engaged Especially our mind so we won't be lead away from GOD'S GOOD NEWS
I appreciate all points of discussion on this matter . My question to all is , What if this revival is of God. What is God saying. If people's lives are transformed, if people are turning to God, if people are being changed , if people's relationship God is being effected for God , if people are hungering after God...How is it can this be negative , if all we are concerned is the correctness of doctrinal issues then we are putting God in a test tube of political correctness. Praise God good report , good news , good testimonies. Jesus was rejected by the Pharisees who were the religious order of the day. I am from the third world country and My views is... God is not restricted to the confirm to the four corners of my mind. God will do what he wants to do with who He wants to. They laughed at the Acts 2 and yet God was in it. Today Acts 2 is still been rejected by the religious because it challenges the authority of God. God will use anybody who are waiting on Him that's why we have great move of God in the 3rd world. Blessings

I’m a pastor and went down for a day to Asbury. It was an amazing time of solemnity, worship, self-reflection and conviction all centered around Jesus. I am by no means a charismatic and yet I cannot recall a time when I felt the presence of God so overwhelmingly as I did there. I assure you if the “keyboard was unplugged”it would have continued on beautifully without skipping a beat. Was it a revival, awakening, renewal???? I don’t know, most people have never seen any of these to be an expert on the subject but then act like they are. Jesus was exalted, the gospel was preached. sin was confessed, lives were changed. That should tell us a lot. Were there people there who were sinners leading music? I’m Sure, in some form or fashion. Just like so many of the pastors who preach on Sunday after looking at porn all week and tell the church to repent even though they have not. or Worship ministers who are engaged in adultery and yet lead us in song about being faithful to God. Do people still get saved in such churches? Of course. I’m not excusing or making light of sin by any means but when Hophni and Phinneas were in charge of temple duties do you think no worshipper was blessed by God because of these two men’s sins? God still acknowledged the heart of the worshipper and blessed them because God works in spite of us to do as HE wills even if the leaders are sinful. This whole video just reminds me of the Pharisees who took potshots at Jesus because he didn’t check all the boxes of what a messiah was suppose to look like. I wonder how many commenting on this actually were there and have first hand experience at Asbury. Like the man said in John 9:25 judge for yourselves whether Jesus was a sinner or messiah, all I know is that I was blind and now I see. Likewise all I know is that myself and my family were all changed for the good because of our trip. Why are we so quick and even glad to cast doubt and criticize something that brought about a lot of good for the kingdom? I understand having a discerning spirit but according to these guys it seems as if God can only move in a place that has 100% of biblical doctrine figured out. I assure you that even with their massive libraries behind them these three men don’t have it all figured out doctrinally, none of us as pastors do. I’m not trying to be condescending I’m just tired of people tearing down something that built a LOT of people up in Christ for the good. I know my opinion is in the minority but I’m speaking as one who was actually there and not as one who experienced it through a web cam. 😊
People who weren't there can still apply Biblical discernment--yes, without having experienced it firsthand, but also without having been swept up in the emotional atmosphere. They observe with hope but also caution; this doesn't make them Pharisees. What I heard these men saying was that it's too early to even label this phenomenon, because it's the lasting fruits that will determine that there was genuine repentance and changed lives. Myself, I want true revival, but I can't help but think of how Jesus warns that in the last days the deception of false teachers and false Christs will be so great that even the elect could almost be deceived. It has to be pretty convincing stuff--all the more reason to always test the spirits. If no one were questioning, that would be a dangerous sign, indeed. God be with you.
I also attended the services at Asbury with my wife and family of 4 teenagers. We experienced genuine gospel preaching, repentance, an absence of the flesh. I agree with all that you have said and feel the same way. It's interesting that most of the self-proclaimed experts and critics didn't attend.
So you sat under homosexuals and women and didn't leave?

You guys are masters of hearsay. Your criticisms are trite. Do you make no attempt to interact with credible sources because you sense that you can't hold a candle to them? Call the college. You make yourselves appear ignorant before those who actually know what is going on.
The entrance of thy word gives life,it gives understanding unto the simple. When a person is in the word, the will learn about God's character...and themselves in the light of the truth. Not an emotion which can change so much in a days time.
i feel you, worst hypocrites ever are mostly christians. terrible people!
This revival reminds me of the Jesus Movement of the ‘70s. Lots of fervor, lots of emotions, lots and lots of people responding to the altar calls where they all received a copy of the good News Bible. This calls to mind Mark 4:3-8. It’s difficult to maintain that level of emotion when the revival is over and people go back to their regular lives.
Thank you Justin for what you do, I haven’t watched any of the revival just seen it posted on social media. I live close to a city in which a church hosted a drag queen event on the weekend with children involved. I can’t believe a church would host such an ungodly event.

I live in the Netherlands. Saw the Ashbury thing and waited, because somehow it did not taste good, but could not put my finger on it. I missed preaching the Word and it felt like Hara Krishna people repeating over and over again the lyrics. Also the students did not sleep much during this thing. And that is something odd too.
Because in certain sects they also let the people not sleep or nearly sleep. It makes a person very vulnerable and then you can influance a person better.
Justin, I was healed of a broken foot in Army Infantry basic training. I broke it the first week, had a xray and decided to continue with basic anyway. There's really no way to explain that pain day after day. Seven weeks later I woke up for the culmination of basic which part of it was a long ruck march. I was worried I wouldn't make it because of all of the difficulty I endured. I woke up and all swelling was gone and no pain, it was healed. In my records the injury stops with the xray. I believed in God, I don't remember praying, maybe I did, but I wasn't born again. The crazy thing was there was no time to dwell on it. It wasn't until years later I realized what had happened.
When I was in Navy bootcamp I came down with horrible blisters. I mean I could barely walk. I prayed to God that he'd give me three days to heal so I can go on and not be set back in bootcamp. I then came down with pneumonia. I was SIQ for three days. Usually at three days SIQ they'd set you back in bootcamp. But my doc waived it. I went back to regular bootcamp activities right before the gas chamber while still on antibiotics. They asked me if I still wanted to do the gas chamber or wait until I'm done with antibiotics. I didn't want to stay in bootcamp one more minute and waiting meant being set back. I told them I was good to go. Let's just say I didn't take one more dose of antibiotics after that (if my memory serves me right). I had no issues once thar gas cleared my lungs. My feet were healed and I was not set back. God works in mysterious ways. I got my three days to heal.
I heard the word of God being preached. They do preach .Gods movement can move in the hearts

@@jedimasterham2 hence why I said many are called, few chosen.
The only ones falling for this "revival", I fear, are those whom God has given itching ears as His just judgment.
Appreciate this discusion. I agree with your observations. I had been also wondering why are people traveling and wanting to be there, when we are warned in scripture not to run to places where they are claiming that Jesus is at.
Very good point 👍
Exactly!
I went to Asbury ❤. What a great outpouring of Gods Holy Spirit. Many who are full of Pride can’t acknowledge moves of God because he doesn’t fit in all their doctrinal boxes. I was there for 4 days. So much repentance and prayer and praise. So many men and women who had such anointed prayer. I was humbled ☺️
I was undone of Pride and hypocrisy! ❤Thank you Jesus for your mercy❤. I repented and felt humility increase in my heart 😊🙌🙌.
Glory to God for using you and the godly men on your panel to expound on and share biblical truths regarding this movement. Was waiting to hear your take on this. And byGod's metcy and grace, I wasn't disappointed.
We know that there is nothing God can't do, but He works through His words.
Romans 10:17 KJV - So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
I pray that the children of God who are a part of this, will prayerfully stay in His words for out of it flows the issues of life. His words are true.
Thank you brother Peter's for an awesome and very informative video. May God bless you and Kathy.
God bless you Justin, praying for you when all the charismaniacs come spamming your social media.
The term charismaniacs is judgmental, unhelpful and uncharitable.
@@Johlibaptist Its a proper term.

Why did the students bombard Tucker Carlson with requests to cover this story? They flooded social media with requests for everyone to contact Tucker Carlson with a request to cover the story. Why invite the media?
Good point...
What's wrong with that?
@@chemforumlachimie6754 Confusion of the power of God’s Word with social power. Under the guise of “spreading the gospel,” Christians abandon faithful preaching in order to win the culture war.
why not?
Thank you for your discernment-it is so lacking in the local church today. Lighthouse trails has dedicated their whole ministry to
enlighten people as to the things that are entering the church today!
God primarily speaks to us through His Word. People always want to know how they can hear from God. He gave us His Word! People get addicted to supernatural experience and always need a feeling.
A quote from John MacArthur, "a broken clock can be right at least twice per day. "
This saying has been attributed to the prominent Austrian writer Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach and to the famous children’s author Lewis Carrol
2 Thess 2:3 - day of the Lord after antichrist sits in temple.
AC in temple is at midpoint -> day of Lord is after midpoint.
Rapture happens same time as day of Lord -> rapture is after midpoint.
Why does Justin say rapture is at beginning?
Why does John MacArthur say that?
@@MaximusAurelius1987 well, many Christians seem to debate this and I am personally checking out another view on it most recently on when the rapture occurs... pretrib, post-trib, mid-trib, etc...
@@cat-bg3rv there’s nothing to debate. 2 Thess 2:1-3 gives the following sequence.
Midpoint - antichrist sits in temple
Then day of the Lord; rapture happens at same time as day of the Lord.
Wrath of God happens after 6th seal: Rev 6:17
Why is it called DAY of the Lord?
Because it’s one year long; Isaiah 34, 61:2, 63:4
Noah’s flood was 1 year + 10 days
Work 6 years, rest 1 year.
