Looks so awesome. Nice video and love the laugh of pure joy at the end. I’m definitely picking one of these up when I have a spare $300. Seems worth every penny.
If anyone has an aluminum drive shaft, this shifter may sit too low so make sure to check. I tried the TRD short shifter years ago and it was barely interfering with the drive shaft so had to pull it back out and return it.
I notice sometimes that my shifter feels like it doesn't want to go into gear or that I need to force it, I do have a upgraded clutch and didn't notice it with a stock shifter
It's more of a preference thing. I wanted to keep it OE+ and I enjoy having a shift knob so I went this route. I may try something different later on, we'll see.
Hey Kevin are you experiencing any rattle from 4.5k rpm to redline. I recently installed mine with the exact setup (fusion shift knob and short shifter) as yours, but mine rattles. Just curious is all, currently talking with Austin rn to sort out the issue. '13 FRS
@@wtfbmo Unfortunately no, otherwise it would rattle only on 1st and 2nd gear. Currently it rattles throughout all 6 gears when it is at a high rev range. Me and Austin from Billetworkz narrowed it down to the reverse lockout (lower portion with the 1 bolt). Currently waiting to try out a different part for it. I will leave an update and solution so if anyone else has the same problem they can find it here. Probably will help save Austin and you viewers some time with troubleshooting similar issues.
That review was just written less than 12 hours ago and we are currently working with the customer regarding his issue. At the moment, it seems there was an assembly issue, and once we get the issue resolved with the customer, he is very willing to update his review. Feel free to check out the reviews on the other short shifter listings, not just that specific color, as well! Let us know if you have any questions and we’d be glad to help!
@@Billetworkz awesome. Thank you for responding. The other question I had in mind, and maybe a naive on my part as I’ve never installed a short shifter before, has the unit been tested allot to ensure that the gears are fully engaged with each shift? Any chance of wearing gears? Transmissions I hear are expensive ☺️. Thanks again. ✌🏻
@@gryphon123456 there is nothing that changes inside the transmission, so the gears will still be fully engaged. The shifter is just a tool to shift from gear to gear!
@@Billetworkz Hi Im having this same issue to! Bought it a couple weeks ago, thought i can bear it but its too much. Was hoping yall can help out! ORDER #1451333
Thanks for including the red and green markers in the comparison! Very helpful!
Glad you are happy with it! Thanks again for your support!
Keep up the quality parts!!!
Found your channel recently but that red and green marker made the comparison so easy to follow. Love it!

@@KevinVo I just picked up 2018 BRZ about a month ago. I have been finding your videos to be very helpful. Keep up the good work🤘
Yup been needing one of these!!! Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching!!
Put the Billetworkz short shifter and a weighted shift knob on my 2022 brz. A home run.
We appreciate your support!
It's such a solid combination!
I have a short teardrop in my ‘22 BRZ and it has been amazing. I can’t wait to get a short throw shifter
Just ordered one! Can't wait to get it in my 86!
hype when you upload
Appreciate the love!!!

Yes short shifters do interfere with aluminum drive shaft.
Thanks for the heads up!
aw shoot i just ordered one, but i have a carbon driveshaft. theres no way to adjust it some how? Now i'm curious if the billetworkz will be better
@@DoctaMarcos Carbon drive shafts aren't as large around (less diameter), so you'll probably be ok.
@@StockySnail i appreciate your reply!! any idea how the trd shifter is compared to billetworkz?
I somehow, was able to change the rear bushing out from inside the car. Now I forgot how I did it.
WTF WAS THAT OPENING KEVIN LMAO LOVE IT
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!!!
I notice sometimes that my shifter feels like it doesn't want to go into gear or that I need to force it, I do have a upgraded clutch and didn't notice it with a stock shifter
Am i wrong in seeing that the only thing keeping the base together is a clip? In the case of my 23' a dlimsy c clip?
Does the rear shifter bushing needs to be replace also if I put on a short shifter? Thanks
see now im tempted to buy it even though im gonna by my brz in 5 months give or take
Hey Kevin, for the OE look, any comparison to the Torque Solutions short shifter or reason for going with Billetworks?
Torque solutions tend to just copy other companies designs. Billetworkz makes very high quality products and they're great to work with.
yo quick question do u really need a new dustboot if urs is ripped im asking cuz i ripped mine as well it still covers it just has a rip on one side
It helps to keep that joint clean. If you just have a little rip it shouldn't be a big deal.
Nice vid! Hey Kevin, any rattling or weird noise?
The car is too loud to hear anything else besides the exhaust so I could tell you haha I don't believe so though.
Do you like this over the IRP short shifter?

is it rubbing against your reverse lockout plate

I haven't noticed anything, but I don't think I would be able to notice it in the FRS either way haha it's too loud in there.
@@KevinVo oh right your car is spec built race car now haha have fun
@@supergt86 Any update. Having this issue too!
In your opinion is the STI short shifter comparable to this Billerworkz short shifter?
No, the STI short shifter barely shortens the throws. This is makes much more of a difference.
I want a tall short shifter like the cae but affordable.
Only other one I can think of is IRP
What made you choose this over IRP?
Wanted to opt for a more OE+ look as opposed to the giant IRP or CAE for know. We'll see if that changes down the road.
I had the KartBoy short throw shifter, then upgraded to IRP and I absolutely love it.
why not the irp one ?
Wanted to stick with an OE style shifter for now.
Hey I'm curious as to why you went with this instead of the IRP short shifter

There’s a review on their website that says it rattles allot and is noisy. Has that been your experience? It’s actually the only review sadly. Lol.
