Immersed VR is by far the best option for working in VR. Much more flexibility with the monitors, and the lag can be significantly down to 5 ms or less if you use the Wifi-direct feature.
Immersed is definitely better. I use this when I'm working out of my RV converted van. But I am definitely getting the Quest 3 when it comes out as the quest 2 is just not there when it comes to definition as the screen door effect is pretty bad on it.
I forced myself to use the Quest Pro every day for around 2-3weeks. I work in a 3D art production team from home. I found it to be usable but it needs more resolution. Even a bump of 10-25 percent would help. Another huge problem is the productivity software available. I used Workrooms, Immersed, and Virtual Desktop. Immersed had the worst quality but better customization. Workrooms had better quality but lacked basic features. Meta should have solid software if this is meant for working. Both programs suffered from bad antialiasing effects around windows and affected general readability. Virtual Desktop was the best in terms of quality. No weird antialiasing. It was smooth and consistent. One massive problem is the lack of virtual multi-monitor support. I use the Quest Pro every day for workouts and gaming. It's a great device for that purpose. It is not however in a good state to use as a daily work device. You can do it but I'd rather work on two small 1080p monitors than deal with the downsides.
Thanks for this incredibly thorough comment. Agree we can use a bit better resolution and I want less input lag so I can truly video edit. I too prefer to work with my monitor than use the Pro, but I like the idea and it worked very well - just have a long way to go, maybe a few years until it is where we need it to be. Thanks for this. I tested it in Maya, Cinema 4D, with Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere. I haven’t tried it with ZBrush nor Davinci Resolve but so far so zippy. No lag unless I’m recording the screen to show how cool. Also, I use a Wacom tablet and that works. Do the 3 screens still only work with MacBooks? (making it useless if you don't like Apple) Meta still have a LOT to do before this is even viable...let alone good enough to work in imo 😒
It works with windows too.
Why would you want to look at a cartoon version of your colleagues that can’t accurately capture facial expressions to hold important meetings and make critical business decisions that rely on having an accurate understanding of what everyone in the room is thinking, when you can get a far more accurate picture over video?
Ill take the real world thanks
So...this headset has been out for a while now. Are any companies buying into it?
No. It's basically a dev kit and beta testing.
the software for it isn't there yet, this is running quest 2 software and meta and microsoft are still building a software suite for the quest pro
Just, def no. Using a vr headset to work is a huge L. It has no benefits over using an irl computer and it can only cause other health issues with your eyes due to excessive use.
Thanks Cnet for pushing more products for us to buy
He was really reaching for glitches, because if I want to go the kitchen I'll just ....take off the HMD.
The major question is... can you read the text in the document ?
yes.
Yes
I would buy a thousand dollar headset to replace a 200 dollar monitor.
Seems it's where we are heading. But then, why be in an office at all?
In order to make profits from trading you need loads of experience and a well defined strategy, which most traders don't have. If you trade without the proper preparation, you're most likely to lose your money. Identify the buy/sell ratios and identify the market leaders and most importantly. Diversify! this will help you spread risk.
@@nafiualhassanibrahim9815 please who is the expert guiding you? i have lost so much as a beginner🥺 investing into stock without a proper guidiance of an expert.

Great headset but overpriced. I wouldn't waste that much money on this.
They need real wigig standalone connection solution
So if the work is all virtual why even come into the office?
I would like to hear what eye doctors think of this type of technology.
🤣🤣🤣
Love CNET ❤️
Immersed is 100x better.
the workroom section is awkward lol
I just saw the vision pro. Apple will eat Meta's lunch.
This guy was laid off this week...
