No. I have to complain. The newspaper on the ground. On ps2 they also reused the gta3 ones. But after the plane mission where you put the flyer over the city, they change to the other ones. And i have the earliest gta vc ps2 version from europe. :) Also the love fist stretch first appears after the love fist missions. On pc its strangly always there.
Yeah, a lot of CRT televisions had some pretty gnarly overscan in the corners. I used to have issues with subtitles in certain games / movies spilling into the corners. They were smart just playing it safe on that.
Ah Vice City, I loved that game so much! I can't go back and play it though, some games make you feel nostalgic. But playing this makes me sad, remembering a happier time :(

I owned the original PlayStation 2 version and the motion blur made the graphics nostalgic to the 80s. They should keep that feature intact for the PC version.
There's an another difference between the two, when the car shifts in the PS2 it shifts normally in between 1-2 seconds while in the PC version it does it in 0 seconds or shifts to the next gear instantly while sliding or jumping.

i know this old but the ps2 also had a better atmosphere were the pc version the sky would just turn plain blue in the day and black and night. the ps2 version had a orange sunrise with a purply pink sky and a purple and golden at night. much better in my opinion and even re-used on the android and ios version of vice city

my brothers brought the original ps2 version on the day it was released and I still remember it like yesterday, I've played it myself and that version will forever be the best version of vice city. I used to wonder why the weapons look different than the pc version and now I know why, the spas 12 just looks beautiful as opposed to that ugly pc version the same can be said for the redesigned weapons.
I have the platinum version for ps2 so most things that aren't in the original ps2 release are actually there, but there's also a few things that aren't like the pc release. These small differences make games interesting but also annoying.

Holy Shit! Ive been playing different versions of this game for more than a decade and never noticed the weapons besides the kreuger looked slightly different in version 1 ps2 versus the others!
I've check to see if the Xbox Original version is PS2 or Pc port and Its vary similar to Pc port. Vice city on Xbox its missing effects however it is slightly better than PC port.
They are working on gta 6 now in 2019, they have been for 5 years now, but I hope for this they create something that blows even cyberpunk and rdr2 out of the water in open world size and detail

Since the Playstation 4 version runs on a built-in PS2 emulator. You can also consider this video to be "GTA Vice City PC VS PS4". However there might be some minor differences, since we don't know which PS2 game revision is stored inside.
One PS4 improvement are the character shadows in the cutscenes. The characters have realistic shadows in cutscenes like on all other platforms too but they are looking more like the shadows of the remastered version of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, that's all what I know about the PS4 version, I just know that the PS4 version of Vice City is finally uncut.

Whenever I watch these comparison videos, it always turns out that no matter how "remastered", "anniversary" or otherwise improved these 3d era GTA games are supposed to be, your best bet are still the original PS2 games. Play them on an emulator with resolution upped a notch and you are good to go. Most complete, all details intact, best atmosphere etc. Is it that the PS2 was a native platform for Rockstar when they were making these games?
Modders have more or less restored the PS2 effects in all the games. Skygfx alone replicates the PS2 visuals of San Andreas with some tweaking. GTA 3 and VC got better car models, and screen effects like rain and blood splashing with the Xbox port which can be restored.
rockstar ported this to very weak pc,s. so a random desktop could play it. glow from weapons and money are gone. but you can download missing pluggings to revive them. same with trails. which makes the game have that orange type of reflection on stuff. hard to explain. alot of missing textures in this game and rockstar dint even bother putting them there. but your better off getting the mobile version for that anyways. literally majority of the stuff you have to do is put into the vice city dictionary to revive it. except trails put that in the Mss file or it crashes the game

My brother had it then passed it down to me when he got an Xbox 360. It has the original cutscenes on it. Which again still has me on the floor laughing.
Is there anyway to tell what version of the game is by looking at the packaging if it is still sealed? I have a PC copy, but it would be nice to know if there's a way to tell the difference between each PC release as well as each PS2 and XBOX release.
The ps2 loading screens have been removed on PC since the game loads way faster Even if you implement the loading screens in the game via modding it's pretty much useless, they will all go by so quickly

+djmhyde The greatest hits version was a Haitian-Friendly version, if you have the copy of Vice City in a black box, it's the original version version where all Haitian and Cuban lines were uncensored and the pornstar in the cutscene of the first Film Studio mission doesn't wear a bra.

ps4 won this comparison by me. Because the graphics of the ps2 version can be called the same as the pc and the texture qualities of the ps2 version, the differences from the pc will be different and beautiful only to someone who plays on vice cityi pc. The differences in the ps4 version compared to ps2 are 1080p resolution and it is fine to see trophies in your progress in the game. There are a few items that you will feel lacking in the ps4 version of course. The controls, the radar is small and thick-framed compared to the pc, and only the frame drawing distance may be a little short in terms of graphics, but if you want to get nostalgia and go back to those days, it will not bother you much. In short, I do not think that you will hesitate to play vice city on ps4 while buying both a nostalgic and a different experience, only the price is a little more like 15% or 20% compared to the pc, but is it worth it when you have nostalgia :)
1:40 sometimes the swat truck(Enforcer) was parked there at the station in ps2 it is in psp all the time whenever i go take a police cruiser it always spawns there

I think the PS4 version is a later revision. The CB radio is distorted whenever you're inside an emergency vehicle.
I still have the one of the first versions .. Where the Ruger rifle is still wooden and all other weapons are unchanged too .. Looks much better ^^

i have both versions of the double pack on ps2. the original double pack on ps2 which isn't haitian cuban friendly still has the tear gas.
I always wondered why police cars in my ps2 copy are white. I could have sworn I got it when it first came out, though.

No, just use some mods and get everything on the PC with fixes from silent patch, it's miles better than using emulators.

The PCs weren't mainstream at that time before 2013 and some games during the 6th generation didn't even get a PC port.
Elite GamingWolf trails aren't actually missing. They were turned off and hidden from within the settings menu but still in the game coding.
Pc gta vice city has some bugs: it crashes everytime -_- meanwhile the mobile version wont but I think both of them are just similar so, ps2 iz best

can anyone tell me if have a way to identify the early version with the tear gas, Lionel Ritchie's song and etc of the game for PS2 only looking at the cover box? if have any difference between the 1st and haitian-friendly version in the box or in the label of the disc?

+djmhyde The greatest hits version was a Haitian-Friendly version, if you have the copy of Vice City in a black box, it's the original version version where all Haitian and Cuban lines were uncensored and the pornstar in the cutscene of the first Film Studio mission doesn't wear a bra.

I know this film is 4 years old,but can someone help me. Nostalgia about this game is high as fuck,i want to play this like old times but i cant find my game on PS2,so i want to buy a new one and this is the question,how can i know which version is original,i will be very thankfull to someone who can help me with that.(sorry for my english) In original i mean the first realese on PS2.

Vadim you need to create a comparison between the pc version and mobile version like gta 3 and San Andreas
ps4 won this comparison by me.
Because the graphics of the ps2 version can be called the same as the pc and the texture qualities of the ps2 version, the differences from the pc will be different and beautiful only to someone who plays on vice cityi pc. The differences in the ps4 version compared to ps2 are 1080p resolution and it is fine to see trophies in your progress in the game. There are a few items that you will feel lacking in the ps4 version of course. The controls, the radar is small and thick-framed compared to the pc, and only the frame drawing distance may be a little short in terms of graphics, but if you want to get nostalgia and go back to those days, it will not bother you much.
In short, I do not think that you will hesitate to play vice city on ps4 while buying both a nostalgic and a different experience, only the price is a little more like 15% or 20% compared to the pc, but is it worth it when you have nostalgia :)
