That would work. Although I seem to have become more aware of it and haven't flicked it on for the last few days so it's only a small issue at first but then not a problem
Much appreciated! I just finished editing up last weekend's video where I do some light offroading (and fail but still learn things and have fun). You might enjoy it too when it gets uploaded and released.
Thats 56 mpg you're getting. That's not great as I got up to 105 mpg out of my 350 Meteor with the old Himalayan being about the same around the 80+ mpg. Perhaps it will improve once it's run in-hopefully.
Maybe you and I are the only ones realising that this bike is bloody thirsty for its size/weight. Even our big fat VStrom 800DE delivers better economy. We're due to collect our 450MT tomorrow, but I'm seriously thinking of letting it slide ... 😮😮
I used to get 400 km out of my 15 litre tank on my Himalayan using 98 octane. That was a mixture of off road (a lot) & highway. How does the 450 MT compare? Does it tell you your fuel economy & give you your range?
It is such a good bike so far. My throttles a bit twitchy but apparently it's an easy 2 min job to adjust the throttle cable at the lever, so I'll probably do that soon.
You said you drive it on the highway. how does it handle on the highway, does it have enough power to handle highway driving and is there any vibration. What is the maximum speed on the highway

Yep, and it's so good a manufacturer has just done it. Like the cb500x could have been great with spoked wheels and slightly lighter but they didn't make it that way. And the new cb500x, the NX500, missed the exact same things the previous one missed. The larger front wheel was a step in the right direction and alloy wheels have gotten better but for a cheap Chinese bike to just make a twin that has the things missing from the 500x and it sells a thousand of them in Australia this year alone (so far). It's so good
I will be getting mine in the next 7-10 days. My cost in Mexico was $8400 usd. And includes t-box, center stand, luggage racks and motor protection bars. Adios amigo 👋🏼
This is probably the closest thing to my dream motorcycle. Had it had 575 cc with increasing the stroke from 55mm to 70mm. So if you had an engine that has good low and medium torque and that would make it better in everything through lower rpm you drive with and more torque. But this is very good so I am very impressed with this bike for the weight and the price and hp is enough to. But as I said 550-575cc on bike lie this is my dream and like about 50hp is enough for me.
It does have a lot of usable power and it's been a great bike so far. At about 200kg it could have been a bit lighter but probably not for the $9000 I paid in the preorder, or even the $9500 it is now for sale at.
So far 100km uses about 4.2L of petrol. I'm on my second tank of petrol and do a combination of city and highway riding. This is from the information the bike provides on the screen. It can show average L per 100 km or realtime consumption as you ride.
@@outie555 Wowww ... our VStrom 800DE - 35 kg heavier and approaching double the capacity, has averaged 3.9L/100 for the past 3300 km since new. We're due to collect our 450MT tomorrow. Might have to reconsider ... 😮😔😔
@@pigmeal2224 they are different engines man so you need to expect they will use different fuel rates. Like my other bike, CTX700N is 660cc, weights 217kg stock, but I've added bits so its probably 220kg+ only uses 3.4L/100km.
I see your vstrom is getting better fuel usage than all the specs i've seen on the fuel consumption of the 800DE. The official reported fuel usage is 4.4L per 100km on the 800DE. So i would imagine if you rode the 450MT on the same routes you ride the 800DE on, your fuel consumption would be less than mine is.
Nice vid. My friend and I are waiting for our 450s in Poland. We want a lighter, smaller displacement ADV bike. In Europe and actually most places, you ride on roads. We always take the side roads, look for dirt as much as we can, still end up with 20% of dirt. This bike fits that mission perfectly. It seems that too many people take and evaluate this bike off road exclusively. At 195 kg, the bike is on heavy side for that mission. For me, my tuned up, 155kg Rally 300 is perfect bike .The new Himalayan 451 is out for me, single cylinder and it's confused and ugly. I have two Royals and like them a lot. Like u said, the features of the MT are phenomenal, maybe lower crash bars and go. I don't know how they can sell them at this low price. You might want to consider trimming down the high beam switch lever, make little more room for your hands. Thx for real world update.
You're welcome mate. Yeah I guess to make it so cheap it had to be a little heavy but it's not as heavy feeling as I thought it would have been. So far so good.
Are you going for the 15 Tooth Front Sprocket modification for slightly lower revs at highway cruising speed? Also has the ECU update come out for smoother 0 - rolling speed when getting on the throttle? People were reporting that it can be quite jerky and have to play with clutch to get the bike moving smoothly from a standstill.
I might do the 15T when the chain needs replacing, but not 100 percent sold on it just yet. Might be a couple of weeks until the update is released in Australia. I think cfmoto are doing the checks after the tbox feed back from the NZ release.
Great video, are you still running the stock tyres I have been running mine at 24psi for gravel and it seems to work well. Mud though, is a whole different issue :)
I will hopefully get a portable pump soon and was thinking 25 psi would be about right for off-road on tubeless tyres. Still riding the stock ones, not good in mud but great in the dry conditions.

Yep, upper and lower crash bars, rear crash bars/pannier rack. Bash plate. All on order, just waiting for them to arrive at the dealer
@@outie555 This is pretty close to what I also want to add. I'm planning to go riding on the Hellas Rally tracks in Greece, I think I will also change the tires for more off-road tires. In France the motorcycle is sold with the high mudguard, but I prefer the same one as yours.
They probably didn't put the wheel tool in the kit because they have tubeless wheels and to save coin.
Still need to to adjust the chain, it's got the other tools and even the flat tube that connects two wheel wrenches for leverage, just not the wrenches.
@@outie555 maybe they’re on back order like everything else lol
Hope so
Good stuff, you look comfortable on the dirt already.
Yes, thanks. I tried some slippery mud on a hill last Saturday at Gus Beutel lookout and that's made me a bit cautious but also wanting to learn more (just finished editing that video for upcoming release soon).
Has anyone heard when it will come Stateside?
My guess is next year as the 800mt (ibex800) took a year after it was in Australia to get to USA
this is a good bike for 170cm rider?
I would say so
you should use Offroad mode in off-road
I really should! I even went light offroading and forgot to do that.
Nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
This is great news! Glad the MT450 turned out so good.
Turned out good? In 200km? Give it a decade.
@@lefterisbampaidis5446 enjoy the wait. We’ll let you know how it turned out lol
It is!
Vs Himalayan 450?
Haven't ridden one yet, but my 450mt is really good. Both good bikes though.
Lights at night?
They are good. That video will drop over the next few days
